I like to book weekly appts to take care of my natural nails because I'm constantly washing my hands in class, leaving my cuticles super dry- even after I lotion. New Sweet Nails on Knollwood Rd in White Plains, carries an extensive array of gel colors and can have everyone who's anyone rocking a mani from one of these techs. Not sure if they offer eye-catching nail art or those sharp-ended stiletto nails- just ask. I like to keep my nails in tip-top condition with classy Essie nudes- that's just me. Pedi stations all use new plastic covers before you soak and tools are sanitized. In spite of that, the perimeter of this salon is filled with boxes- making the entire salon look unkept. EDIT: I decided toI change my review after experiencing another nail salon. The nails I got here lasted 3 weeks and only chipped lightly. They actually did a really great job with layering and making it sturdy. Also their prices were a lot better than older places. So I'm going to come back here and try again with different colors. 've only gotten my nails done once and it was just a basic manicure. But today after a long week I decided to treat myself. I had Steven and requested dip powder - I think they did a great quick job despite how short my nails are. I work in the hospital so I can't have long nails. My only disappointment was the color; I wanted a more neutral/tan/brown color which I picked out from their tray, but the actual result was more pink and resembled my natural nail color (very light). So it doesn't even look like my nails are done. Steven ended up adding a layer of gel on top to darken it which helped a bit but it still wasn't what I really wanted. It just looks like nails with a clear layer on top I think the nails are solid but they need better colors or more accurate colors so it's not so misleading. Typically I'll just get a gel manicure or a regular manicure and ever so often I will get acrylic on my nails and prior to coming to this nail salon I had visited two other places in Yonkers and the outcome was a very bad job. Came in here on my lunch break to get an acrylic fill in and Steven took me right away. I asked questions prior to sitting down and he did not seem annoyed, frustrated nor agitated. He was very pleasant .The way he handled my nails with care was very relaxing and soothing. Everyone's nail experience should be one that is tranquil and that is exactly what this nail tech provided to me a great service. He wasn't rough with the tools and the tools did not burn my skin nor my nail bed. When you look at the pics you will see that he made my nails look as natural as they can be and he took his time. This is the best my nails have ever looked. I will be coming back for future nail appointments and anyone that is in the area that has not been here before and is looking to get their nails done. Over this place. After an amazing 1st it went down hill. I have done my nails 3 additional times and all times the color chipped within 2 days. The worse was the gel last time - IN TWO DAYS!! I ignored since i mainly care about my toes which LiLi did the first time. The next time i went another girl did it horrible. Super fast, messed up polish, the "massage" was maybe 10 seconds. I went here because someone recommended it. For starters, it's kind of in the middle of nowhere. I got a powder gel manicure ($37). They had tons of SNS colors to choose from, but overall I wasn't happy with the result. For starters, the technician filed my nails unevenly; some nails are square and others are round. Next, the manicure turned out very thick! I've never had a powder gel manicure look like this before. In the process, the powder got caked under my nails and i asked the technician to please remove it, but she assured me it would come off after I wash my hands a few times. I had been looking for a new place to go, since the place I've been going to for the last few years has gone downhill, plus they seem to never answer the phone and will be getting kicked out of their space in the White Plains mall. Anyway, it's really ridiculously hard to find a place that does acrylics. I don't know why so few places do them, but oh well. Thankfully, New Sweet Nails does them. The price is a little high - $25 - but if it's done right, it's not astronomical. The woman who did my nails, Joy, was nice. She seemed to really know what she's doing. My nails don't look perfect, but I think that's the Polish I chose and nothing on her. The shape of the nails is fine and not too "humpy" (if you have acrylics, you know what I mean). They do charge quite a bit for gel polish - $12 extra, $37 total for a fill, which is a lot. The one thing that also bothered me was that I did have gel polish on, and I was charged $5 for removal! I have never in my life been charged for that. You're drilling my nails to grit them up anyway... should I do gel in the future, I'll just file it off myself beforehand. The thing that really won me over, though, is that my wallet fell out of my purse, which has never happened to me before, and I left, not realizing. I guess they got my cell phone number by calling my house (it's on my voicemail if you need to reach me, blah blah), and told me my wallet was there! I drove back, and they gave it to me...and I had $300 in cash in there! Nothing was missing from what I could tell, so if anything, they're honest. It would be 5 stars if the prices were a little lower, but at least it's not $60! read more

I found this place about a year ago in search of SNS manicures in white plains. I'm happy that my first search was my last. Having had bad prior experiences with SNS chipping or cracking after several days I first came here with low expectations and left more than satisfied with my results. Needless to say I've now been coming here for past year and am very happy with my service. I do usually schedule an appointment because the word has spread about how great they are hence they are usually booked. However, I have to say that they are very accommodating to your needs and availability even without a prior appointment. Steven has called me back to try and accommodate my requests in the past due to cancellations which I was pleasantly surprised by. I've had my SNS done by Steven himself who is very detail oriented and leaves my nails looking flawless. I've also had my SNS done my Narcisa and Nube who are very hardworking and go above and beyond their way to make sure you're happy with your nails. I've had Nube buff out and reapply my top coat due to not being satisfied with the top coat application without me even having to say a word which shows you the kind of perfectionist she is which are the type of people I appreciate doing my nails. I've had my pedicures done by almost everyone there and they always last the 2 weeks without chipping. They have a wide variety of SNS colors to choose from including the matching OPI. I just wish there were more colors to match those wide variety of other SNS colors but I work with what they have. Anyhow, I've been coming here for a year and have never left unhappy. Literally the worst pedicure I've ever had. Rushed through the door, the tech (Kevin) didn't let me choose nail color. It took another tech coming over to intervene. Rushed through the process. Only clipped nails on one foot, did not file nails smooth until asked. "Callous" removal was nonexistent. No massage at all, just literally threw lotion at my legs, then wiped it off with a wet towel. The place is filthy, the polish colors are extremely limited, and there is zero evidence of the tools being sanitized. I initially was in for a pedicure and a powder manicure, but didn't even stay for the manicure because of how bad the pedicure was. read more

The guy that did my manicure was really nice and took his time HOWEVER I have never been to a nail salon where the man take the cuticle took that he used on my nails to hand them to his coworker and have my friend have her cuticles taken off WITH THE SAME TOOL. I came here on a recommendation and promptly broke up with my long term nail tech! Maggie did my nails and Juki (idk if I spelled that right) and both were AMAZING! I am very picky with my nail techs as I keep my hands in chemicals for work and am very rough on my hands...BUT my hands are on constant display! So i NEED my manicures to last...anyone can do a nice job but to have it last it a very different thing. And my feet felt brand new!
