We had dinner here last night for the first time and were super impressed. We normally drive into Atlanta for Thai food but were so excited to find this place so close to home. The atmosphere was great with actual table cloths and napkins. Our server was very friendly. We had the dinner special which included soup or salad, a crab Rangoon, main course, and ice cream for $10. Our table had spring rolls, pad Thai, drunken noodles, basil beef, and Tom kha soup. Server iwas extremely slow. Waited 6 mins to place an order and another 10 mins for my coconut soup that tasted like hot coconut milk. After 30 minutes of waiting and only got soup and water, I canceled my order and left. I definently won't be coming back read more

LUNCH/DINNER SPECIALS. This is our family's go-to Thai restaurant. If you go during lunch or during happy hour for dinner (5.00pm-7.00pm), you'll receive some extra apps and desserts. Great for the kids! Similar to many previous reviews: their food is extremely authentic and rich with flavor. I didn't want to seem like a broken record and repeat what everyone has raved about this restaurant. Also, I would always get the variation of pad thai dishes. I know... boring, eh? They just do it so good and perfect each time. On this visit, I decided to be adventurous and try something else on the menu. I decided to get the basil duck. Like the pad thai, I was blown away! That dish pushed me to finally quite a review for our family's favorite Thai restaurant. It was beautifully plated and generously portioned. I've attached a picture for you to see for yourself. Very good pad Thai. I ordered the vegetarian option. Good thing is that they are very generous with the tofu. Also, the tofu is very tasty--it's got some kind marinated process, not the usually tasteless sponge I've encountered some times. Really good food, and I'd definitely come back. I was one of the original "first/best customers". I discovered this restaurant 7 years ago when they switched owners. Over the years it keeps getting progressively worse. It seems like the more popular this place gets, the worse the service is. The last year the service has gotten horrendous. Peter, the owner, has had a taste of success and it's made him a cheapskate. He won't hire any good wait staff and they almost always screw up the order. Most depressing as of lately is the inconsistency of the food. For the first couple of years this restaurant was open, they really worked hard to keep the food fresh and consistent. Now a days it's a total crap shoot! This restaurant went from being a quiet, friendly little Thai place to a crowded, rude, and low quality restaurant with bad service. They were so rude to me and my family the last time we were there that we've vowed to never come back and we won't! read more

Very nice find! I used to live about 5 minutes from here and passed it so many times. It blends in all to well in the little strip mall. Finally having tried it, this is some tasty thai! The price is definitely right, many sub $10 items. The thai spicy fried rice is my favorite in town. PS They are closed on Mondays but open on Sundays which is a bit different than most. read more

I got the lunch special of chicken coconut soup, spring roll and chicken pad Thai! All were delicious and the staff was great. I will be back and hopefully I can bring some friends with me. Nice looking restaurant, clean, high booths give great dining privacy. They had a dining special 4:30-7:30pm where entrees come with a spring roll and soup or salad, and ice cream! Appetizer of shrimp chips and peanut sauce to start. Tom Yum vegetable soup was good, and the salad with ginger dressing was good. We had requested spicy for the entrees, but the food was disappointingly bland. I guess we should have asked for "Thai spicy." Decent vegetarian options. read more

We ate dinner at Thai Ginger on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately, although it took a while to get menus and drinks. (Cans of soda) it's a family owned and operated joint, and our server wasn't exactly enjoying her weekend. She was nice enough though, and one can't blame her I suppose. I had Musaman Curry. My wife had Thai Basil Fried Rice. Amazing flavor! Fantastic dish! Outstanding food! We loved it. It made our evening because we haven't had good luck with restaurants around town lately. The great food made our service experience seem more like a novelty and sort of fun. We definitely plan to go back. Good food is our biggest concern. We cook many meals at home and we know how to use a food processor. We make delicious food at every day, so I don't give out compliments without merit. This place gets high marks! read more

Authentic Thai restaurant hidden in Acworth! The owners are from Pattaya and relocated here a very long time ago. The only thing they did is run their own restaurant ever since. I tried all the dishes on the menu and all, i mean ALL of them are very tasty and close to the same taste of the food i had in Thailand. The only thing i would like is more kick to their spicy dishes (it is not as spicy as it should because they are probably cooked for the ordinary customer that didn't experienced the real Thai fare) Very cheap place to eat, specially for lunch. This place is great! We just went here this past Sunday. Being big Lemongrass fans, it was a big jump to try this place out, but it was Sunday (Lemongrass is closed) and I was jonesing for some Thai. I'm so glad we went. They have a "happy hour" special from 4:30-7:30. Appetizer (spring roll and either soup or salad) and ice cream with your entrée. Considering the chicken entrées are about $9 or so, that ends up being a pretty good deal. I had the spicy vegetable soup which was tasty. Not as spicy or as vegetable and I hoped, but it was a good start to the meal. I love spring rolls and theirs was good. My husband got the salad with the ginger dressing and I don't like ginger, but he does and said he liked the dressing. I ordered chicken cashew and it comes with jasmine rice (which was great). It was good - not as flavorful as I hoped (I might have liked it with a little more spice and will probably ask for that next time), but I wasn't disappointed. The portions are a decent sized - not huge, but after the appetizer, I ended up taking home about a third of my dinner. My husband got spicy basil chicken and said it was good, but he also would have liked a little more spice. Maybe they err on the less spicy side just to be safe. The ice cream at the end of the meal was a great finishing touch. I got the green tea ice cream which was different and tasty. I had never had that kid of ice cream before and I really enjoyed it. My husband got pecan and it was rich and creamy and delicious. We both drank water, so didn't have to pay for drinks, but dinner for two with tip ended up costing less than $25. Not bad at all for good food and a sit-down meal. I've learned a couple of things that will probably inform my next visit (definitely take advantage of the "happy hour", ask for more spice), but I think we will be back some time in the near future! read more

We usually do takeout for stay-in date nights. For $20 we can get soup and enough apps to satisfy. The fried tofu, dumplings, and basil rolls are a must. Entrees are good too- we have enjoyed everything we've tried. Excellent family run restaurant and worth going out of your way for! read more

We love picking up to go from Thai Ginger to nosh during a home movie night. We generally stick with apps and soup. The Tom Ka Kai is YUMMY! The basil rolls always make our list. The fried tofu is delicious, always the perfect texture. And we usually get the Kanom Jeeb but last time the pork filling wasn't quite as flavorful, I won't give up on it yet and hope it was only an off night for that one. We were looking for a good Asian / Thai restaurant in the area and saw the Yelp reviews. I agree with others.. this was great food. You'd drive by the place if you didn't know it was there. It was very busy the night we were there. My wife had the Chicken Fried Rice and I had the Garlic Pepper Chicken. I finished my plate. We brought home leftover Fried Rice and my daughter was very impressed a day later. The only disappointing thing was the Basil roll. The filling was very tasty.. but the wrap was a little chewy. Price was reasonable but if you compare to all the take out places around.. it was a good price too. We'll definitely go back and in fact have mentioned to others at work. read more

The owners/staff of Thai Ginger are some of the most personable & friendly I've ever seen at a restaurant. Their food is excellent. Everything I've ever eaten there has been fantastic. Between my husband and myself, we've had all their curries. Their Tom Kha Gai soup is wonderful.
