    Edamame

Happened to stumble across this place inside of an Asian market by chance. Figured, why not? Was a great choice. Both rolls were so fresh. It was nice of them to toss in the edamame. Sure, there's nowhere to sit. I ate in the car, but when you have two hours to kill because you're waiting for a birthday party to end, why not treat yourself?

This was by far the best sushi I have ever had, and my family likes to joke that I'm a sushi snob. I have tried practically every sushi spot close by, and this one is worth the drive! So incredibly fresh, picture what you think fresh tastes like and it was twice as amazing as that. I only was able to take a picture of part of the roll since I gobbled up the rest too quickly! Will definitely be going back again for take-out.

Great pick up and go sushi but made to order. None of that hard refrigerated rice here. If you buy a certain amount they always throw in a small free edamame. My go to rolls are the spicy Mexican roll ($5)and Alaska roll ($4.50). No tables to eat in. It's literally a sushi counter in the back or front (depending on which door you use) of a farmer's market. Tips: parking lot in the back and street parking available, cash only. Hours: Mon-Sat 11am-7:30pm, Sundays closed

This is one of the best sushi spots in the area, but I'm upset that they don't have lunch specials. I ordered two salmon avocado rolls for $10. The sushi rolls were really good, perfect ratio of fish to rice. I like that they give you edamame with every purchase and they actually make the rolls at the moment you order them. I also got the shrimp shumai and they were okay. I really like this place, but id love it if they brought back their lunch specials. The staff is really friendly. Definitely will consider coming back!

My favorite sushi takeout spot. I've been ordering from here for years! It's closeby, always has fresh, quality ingredients, and great service. It is a true hidden gem tucked away in a small supermarket. I usually order by phone because I get a lot and it takes up to 20 minutes to prepare. Their rice is never hard. They never skimp on the avocado and theyre always so delicious. They also throw in free edamame with your order!

New Tokyo is a neat little hidden sushi spot located inside of a farmer's market. Seems to be a neat little mom and pop shop. This sushi spot has no seats and is a take out only spot. The prices are decent here. I had the spicy salmon roll, eel roll, and salmon sushi. They even gave me a side of snow peas to munch on all for about $15. It wasn't the best sushi i've ever had and it definitely didn't blow my mind away but the sushi was really decent and overall satisfying my sushi needs. Very light and fresh taste. An amazing take out lunch option on the go.

TLDR: cash only, no ATM in grocery store, street parking, no seating Small, quaint hole in the wall sushi take out place located inside a farmer's market. Absolutely no seating, so this is 100% a take out place. Based off of Yelp reviews, I noted that it was cash only, and pulled out a $20 from the bank. I called ahead to order for pickup and read off of the menu I found on Yelp, and the gentleman over the phone said it would be ready in 10 minutes (perfect, that's how far away I was!). Parked right in front of the farmer's market on the street, but you can probably park by Juicy Platters and walk the half block over. I must've read the prices wrong, because I was short $2 and change, and extremely flustered on the spot as I didn't have anything extra on me. I must've looked desperate, asking if there was an ATM in the store or nearby, because the woman behind the counter (owner, or wife of owner) was kind enough to let me go, and told me to bring it next time I come. How kind and generous!! Really wasn't expecting that at all. They also offer free edamame with your order, but I already felt guilty enough about the $2 so I declined. As for the actual rolls, well they aren't the best I've had, but they're still decent with a light and fresh taste. I ordered the Fresh Maine Roll and the Red Dragon Roll. Mine were not cut all the way through, nor were they tightly packed, so the contents spilled everywhere when I would pick it up with chopsticks. It was messy, to say the least. I will be back anyway since I owe them $2, but I'll be exploring other sushi spots in the area.

Take Out Only Reasonable Prices Good Quality Korean Mom & Pop Food Stand Cash Only Mr. Kim, who worked at the original Kiku on Route 4 near the Bergen Mall, set up shop in the Jersey Farmers Market in early 2000 along with his wife. The concept was fast, fresh and affordable featuring a la carte sushi (limited selection of fish), veggie, hand, specialty rolls and party platters. The place is clean, service courteous and preparation skillful in this tiny stall sandwiched between a florist and fish monger. Mr. Kim trained his protege with great care, he suffered from leg problems that kept him from standing for any length of time and wanted to continue his established business. The new chef takes pride in his work and posses good knife skills, along with Mrs. Kim they do a good job of preparing fresh food at great prices. Good On The Run!

Located in a nice farmers market, tucked into the front corner, there are two Asian men that did not speak much English, I knew I was in the right place. They only have to go, but it doesn't take long to make sushi, I waited 5 min for 5 pieces of salmon sushi and a salmon roll. The salmon was a perfect color and delicious, very fresh. They also gave me free edamame with my order which was very nice of them. They have some interesting rolls, and I will definitely be back to try them. They are also competivily priced for sushii, not that sushi is ever really cheap.

Godfather roll, Fresh Maine roll, Miss Thai roll, Superhero roll, Tuna tartare roll are my favorite!

OH MY GOD! Finally! I tried this Japanese takeout and it was AMAZING! It's sort of a hidden gem, It's inside a Farmer's market. Huge parking lot and it's a cute little mom & pop japanese take out in the area. What I like about this place is that they use fresh ingredients, and their rolls are very unique! Also they make it right on the spot! If you go, you MUST get these rolls: Fresh Maine Roll - it's like shrimp and crabmeat and caviar with sweet potato crunch! Miss Thai Roll - it's thai/japanese fusion roll with cilantro and peanut sauce! Tuna Tartare Roll - tuna, avocado, cilantro, teriyaki sauce, mmm. Super Hero Roll - Spicy eel, crab, jalapeno...and my fav. sriracha! I go once a week now... ha.

Blu Sushi is the perfect mix of deliciousness, affordability, and fantastic service. I've gone there for my lunch around three times these past two weeks and each time I've had a wonderful experience. Their lunch special is super affordable. You can get 2 rolls for the less than I spend for one at many of the other restaurants in Ridgewood. However, despite that, it honestly tastes the best out of many of the places I've gone to. Also, if you are up for spending more, they have a fantastic selection of appetizers and special rolls that you can try again (I recommend the dynamite shrimp). When I go, I normally get the 2 roll option from the lunch menu. Typically, I have the spicy salmon and the spicy tuna rolls when I order that. Regarding those rolls, they are first and foremost delicious. You can tell that fresh their fish is and how much time and dedication they put into their sushi with each bite. Furthermore, they are spicy--but not too spicy. When you have them you are able to enjoy every aspect of the roll without being completely overwhelmed by the spice. Additionally, they add something crunchy to the rolls which take them from just a tasty lunch to a full experience. Most importantly though, the service and ambiance is fantastic. Every time I've been there I've only been treated with kindness and consideration. They are very willing to talk with you about their dishes, share some interesting facts about it (like how they came up with the dynamite shrimp), and more. But the best part about it is that they remember you. That honestly meant a lot to me. I know that this whole review was a lot of me ranting, but I honestly mean it. If you are looking for a nice, quaint, delicious, affordable, and hospitable meal--Blu Sushi is the place for you.

Definitely could have eaten 10 of these ... myself! + Nabe Yaki Udon Soup Noodle - Solid noodle soup. Fish was very fresh though and presentation was excellent. + Spicy Salmon, Spicy Yellowtail, Spicy Cooked White Fish - Shocked at how good the rolls actually were. There was only 1-2 layers of rice, at most, around the sushi and there was a lot of fish filling for the rolls. Fish was very fresh and delicious. Also, once again, presentation of the entree was excellent. THE SERVICE ------------------- + Friendly waitresses throughout the staff. + Food came out fairly quickly. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- + Not a huge restaurant, but spacious enough with a few tables for 4 and a few tables for 6. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Came in at around 5:45 PM on a summer Friday evening and it was busy already. We didn't have resys, but some groups did. Assuming they were able to squeeze us in before the dinner resy groups filed in because the restaurant was at capacity by the time we left at 7ish.

Once you sit down you scan a QR Code to order your food and drinks. I was pretty hungry that day so we ended up ordering a ton of food. The drinks were pretty good and they were served in Le Creuset mugs. Not the biggest deal, but I can appreciate some nice drinkware. The bowl of Kimchi Fried rice came out first. It was a generous portion and the rice was cooked well, but I feel like it could've used some more kimchi. The eggs on top were cooked perfectly and added good texture to the dish. The next dish to come out was the HK French toast. The bread was nice and fluffy which paired well with a nice generous drizzle of condensed milk. I enjoyed this a lot. We also ordered scallion pancake, pork barbecue, and bossam baos. These were ok, I would probably pass on a return visit. I felt like the meat in the baos was a little tough though they did have decent flavor. The last entree was the smoked salmon and avocado croissant; I really enjoyed this. It had a generous helping of smoked salmon and avocado as well. The saltiness of the salmon paired well with the creamy and fatty avocado. The croissant was also nice and flaky. It was also served with a house salad which had a nice drizzle of dressing on it too. For dessert we ordered a Black Sesame Souffle Pancake. This was SO good. A few months ago I visited a place in Princeton that specialized in these Japanese-style pancakes and Tasty Junction's version was so much more enjoyable. I loved that it was served with a healthy scoop of ice cream. The pancake was airy and had a bounce to it. Each bite was so good and made even better with the ice cream. I'd definitely come back just for the pancakes. All in all Tasty Junction is a great spot tucked away in Glen Rock
