I made several trips to the showroom to look into various options and the showroom staff really helped me narrow down my options and gave me a good estimate of prices. They were able to stick to my tight budget and when Darrin came out to measure my windows he had useful suggestions and helped me pick out attractive screen shades within my budget and useful blinds for my upstairs rooms. There were a couple things I needed to specify for details with him as he assumed I was picking certain features (I went with the tilt cords for the blinds rather than the rod) but overall I had a good experience. After waiting 30 minutes in front of their office for a scheduled appointment with Darin Paper, I decided to call their office number. Another employee answered and was dumbfounded about the appointment and asked if I would wait another 20 minutes for him to get there. I agreed. As he let me into the office, I was taken back at the "stuff" in the small office. There was barely enough room for 3 of us. After receiving the quote I requested, I left thinking Darin would call at some point to apologize for not meeting me. Nothing, nada, zilch! Very unprofessional. I at least gave New View and other vendors a courtesy call to let them know I would not be needing their services. Purchased window coverings for my new home 20 years ago from Darin at New View. From time to time I need to replace some parts. This company is the best to deal with. Their prices are fair, they answer the phone and are super helpful. I even text them pics of what I need and they get them ordered. A few times I needed new clips and they just sent them to me for free. Recently I ordered a new valance for my slider and I could not figure out how to get the end pieces on. Since they are a Hunter Douglas Gallery showroom, I figured that would be a good place to start. Once at their showroom I met with Ernesto who really knew about the products. We just finished an extensive remodel in East Sac and needed window coverings for the entire home. My wife and I knew we wanted to go with a Hunter Douglas product, but who to buy from? We got two estimates, the first from one of the "club stores" and the second from New View. The club store estimate came with a $400.00 "gift card rebate". New View (without knowing the club store's bid) beat it by $100.00 with no silly rebates on exactly the same product. Darin and Ernesto came out to the house and spent a lot of time discussing all of the window covering options available to us and offering a lot of great ideas on handling some of the problems that we did not foresee during the remodel. Darin was able to custom cut part of the shutter frame so it would fit neatly against the transition of the marble back-splash in the kitchen. On install day a three man crew lead by Darin showed up, they neatly handled the install and cleaned up after themselves removing all of the packaging material. We have since had Darin out to the house to make a few adjustments and he has been happy to do so, showing up on time and taking care of the issues. Shutters are beautiful and came in quickly. Visited the office to drop off check and pretty hilarious they were talking crap about me and didn't realize I was inside the office. Installers were nice, couple dings in my wall and shoe prints on my couch but what do you expect. I was informed not to burn candles for a week. Waited 3 weeks and now there is weird black smears all over the shutters. Guess you're never allowed to burn candles? I've now been told this is a common problem with Hunter Douglas and there warranty does not cover much at all. Only had half the house installed. I asked to get a quote to proceed with the second half 3 times! Still no word from them so had to proceed with another company. read more

I relocated to the area and bought a new house. The previous owner left the Hunter Douglas window treatments but they were frayed, transparent, and in need of replacement. I had new blinds installed in my home office. I told the salesman I wanted a product that would not put a lot of glare on my computer monitor since it faces the window. The guy insisted that normal blinds (no room darkening or blackout) would do the job. But now, $2500 later, I'm looking at tons of glare on my monitor and useless window coverings. We ordered composite shutters for our whole home. We worked with Darin. He was great! I needed a Hunter Douglas blind repaired. After searching online and talking to the company they steered me to New View Window Coverings, a certified dealer to repair Hunter Douglas items. Ernesto was so helpful walking my husband through what he thought was the problem. Instead of encouraging us to have them take down the blind and send it out for repair he thought it could be a simple fix. Three phone calls and a couple of emailed pictures later, Ernesto said we needed a new clip,for the sagging string. He ordered the clip free of charge. I am so glad that I decided to have blinds professionally installed and that I chose New View. I visited the showroom and got some ideas and then scheduled a home visit. Darin knows his stuff!! My home was built in 1937 and has a few quirks and different window styles. He showed me how different types of blinds and shades would fit or not fit , identified where I would have the most glare (blinding sun through the kitchen window when its time to make morning coffee) and even took into account that I like to work with my desk facing out a front window.
