Great lunch today at Wonjo. I got the lunch special Spicy Dak Galbi chicken Combo with kimchi stew. It was delicious. Love their Banchan. The server gave us dumplings on the house. It was a lot of food. I took mine home. Lots of soup and stew options . Highly recommend.

Incredible value for the lunch set special. For about $25 per person, you can get a mini bossam set and a stew, as well as the usual rice and refillable banchan. Easily makes two meals! While the pork belly wasn't as tender as I hoped, I was impressed at the efficiency of the staff, value for the amount of food we received, and variety of the dishes.

My friend is in town and he said " I miss New Wonjo." So ofc we got to bring him down memory lane. This restaurant has 2 floors. The lower level is mainly for the non- kbbq meals and the upper level is where all the grills are located. We were feeling kbbq that day, so we were seated upstairs. Because we went during the holidays, some of the staff were being festive and wearing mini Santa hats. Very cute! The staff were very sweet / attentive. They promptly grilled our meat and offered additional banchans when we were running low. Btw shout-out for giving us plenty of lettuce! ( Everywhere else it takes forever for then to replenish the lettuce or they ran out) It was NOT the case here, so I can enjoy my kbbq ssam styled! Because it was so busy, the staff members were assisting within the different sections. We have a few different staff members grill our meat and each one greeted us with a smile and friendly attitude. We ordered: Premium Beef Combo (for 4 people) ($198.95): Prime Ribeye Prime Marinated Boneless Short Rib Prime Brisket Prime Marinated Sliced Ribeye Complimentary: Bean Paste Stew Barley tea ( check with your server) It's a good amount of food for a group of 4. You won't be stuffed with one combo but it's enough to make you satisfied.

BBQ combo - not good quality meat

Honestly don't see why this place is so popular and quite packed every time we went. They do have an extensive menu, and it's in the middle of ktown, but honestly, the quality of the food is meh. The BBQ combo is not good value, as only 2/3 of the meat is edible. The Seolleongtang is the blandest I have ever had, not because of the lack of salt which of course you add on your own, but it's so watered down you cannot taste any meat or bone broth flavor. Service is pretty good though, and efficient.

Food: I came here on a week day for their lunch special. It was pretty good! They offer many lunch specials which is a combo of a main dish and either a noodle or a tofu soup. I chose the galbi and spicy seafood tofu soup combo. The galbi was excellent - perfectly marinated and grilled. They give you about eight pieces of short ribs with the lunch special. It also comes with a bowl of rice. The tofu soup was average and nothing special (much better at BCD). The ban chan was also average; my favorites were the braised radish and kimchi. Everything else was mediocre. Service: Service was just okay. They weren't particular friendly or welcoming. They also don't come to check on you throughout the meal. Ambiance: The restaurant has two floors and can accommodate both small and large groups. Seating is spacious and comfortable. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant!

Love the soon tofu and the ban chan is delicious. We can back for 2nd time. The ban chan is different from last time. We got a Try the combo of fried mackerel & non spicy soon tofu. Their tofu is so good I don't even want any spicy to mask the tofu nature flavor. The broth is so light but it pair well with the rich tofu the diced squash and seafood ( shrimp and mussels) I would like more squash in the tofu stew. Service is fast. Take around 10-15 minutes to get the main dishes ready It's a little loud over here. I want to try the BBQ but it looks like reservation ahead is a must. The wait for Bbq table at 2nd floor is long.

Whenever I'm in New York, I always go to New Wonjo Restaurant in West 32nd Street whether to have lunch or dinner. New Wonjo is one of my favorite Korean Restaurant in Manhattan that specializes in Korean Barbecue. If its not busy, you are seated promptly and your server takes care of you right away. After you order, drinks and appetizers were served. Food is delicious, complimentary cold tea is served after dinner. Casual dining and family atmosphere ambiance. Always a great time to be here. Check it out!

This is a great place for Korean food. We came here as a family on a Monday around 4pm and we were seated immediately. The restaurant upstairs is very nicely decorated with lots of pictures and art. We ordered the Jap Che (glass noodles)with beef and the Dduk Boki (rice cake/gnocchi) and the Je Yook Gui (spicy sliced pork) to be grilled table-side. All of these were great and the BBQ order came with plenty of sides. Be warned, if it says spicy, it's spicy; Korean cuisine does not mess around when something is labeled as "spicy". They have lots a drink offerings and several beer options, I ordered an Allagash. The wait staff was friendly and checked in on us often, the food came out relatively quickly and we had a very pleasant experience.

4.5/5 Came here with my boyfriend for Korean bbq on a weekend night. We made a reservation the day of and we were able to get one for 8pm. We arrived a little before 8 but didn't get seated until 8:10. We ordered the meat mania set and a small seafood pancake for share. The seafood pancake tasted good but I wish there would be more seafood. The meat mania set came with the perfect amount of meat and they were all marinated well. The whole bbq experience was taken care of by a server so we were able to just sit back and relax and enjoy our meal. Overall, a great experience. Service was good and food was great and reasonably priced. Will definitely come back in the future!

New Wonjo Restaurant has that warm, cozy charm that feels like stepping into a Korean home. While they're known for Korean BBQ, we opted for their entrees and were pleasantly surprised by how comforting and satisfying the whole meal was. We started with the sweet and spicy fried chicken as an appetizer. While it was crispy and flavorful, it reminded us more of a spicy sesame chicken than the classic Korean-style bone- in fried chicken we were expecting. That said, the variety of banchan (side dishes) more than made up for it--potato salad, kimchi, cucumber salad, and more--each one fresh, tasty, and true to what I love about Korean cuisine. For our mains, we ordered the Bulgogi Bibimbap and the Octopus Bibimbap. Both came out sizzling hot and packed with flavor. The balance of textures and seasonings made each bite so satisfying--we were completely stuffed by the end! Just when we thought we couldn't eat another bite, our server surprised us with a traditional cinnamon dessert tea. It was such a lovely touch and something I haven't experienced at most Korean restaurants. That detail alone told me how authentic and thoughtful this place really is. Service was great throughout--our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure we felt welcome. Overall, New Wonjo offers a comforting Korean dining experience with authentic touches that make it memorable. Would definitely return!

I've been eating here for years now. I love the way they bring tons of small bites before the main dish arrives. Of course my favorite is the kimchi (obviously lol). I usually go here before or after Macy's. The most recent time i also got to check out the Korean beauty spots next door to the restaurant. The service is great, and the setting and ambiance is relaxing and pleasant. I don't mind dining alone, but this is one place i really hope to bring friends or family (more side dishes that way hee hee)

    Amanda S.

The service is really great - the server cooks table side and manages to handle several tables at once. Although it's loud, the servers have amazing hearing and anticipates what we needed quickly. The community water bottles are filled frequently, no one's glasses are empty. Side dishes are refilled promptly and generously. For Korean bbq, the meat quality is average on their regular beef set menus. While the side dishes are plentiful, the variety is underwhelming. The seafood pancake and fried rice are just alright - nothing special and a bit greasy. It's super packed and they turn the tables quickly for bbq. Will try another spot next time!

I stopped coming since the pandemic recently walked by. I saw that they had lunch special again. I ordered Hae Jang Guk which is beef Bone soup. The soup was hearty and delicious . it comes with a lot of condiments .The service is fast and the place is clean.

We ordered buns and spicy edamame to start. It seemed like we had just ordered when the food came out. Love that. Buns were incredibly good - a close second to a joint in Chicago we ate at last weekend. Succulent meat, plenty of sauce, and just the usual pillowy bun. The edamame didn't seem spicy at first - then my face melted. Still good but a deep burning spiciness to them as advertised. For my entree I got the beef miso ramen, adding corn and an egg. The corn wasn't just a pile of kernels - but a side slice of a cob. Cool presentation. Beef was good and the broth soothed my soul. Top 10 ramen places I've been - well done.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water.
