1000/10 - My Taste Buds Are Still Thinking About It I ordered the cowboy ramen from Noona Noodles and I am not being dramatic when I say it was a spiritual experience. You know food is good when you take a bite and immediately close your eyes because your brain needs a moment to process what just happened. Every bite had me sitting there in silence, eyes rolling into the back of my head, questioning every mediocre bowl of ramen I've ever eaten before this one. The broth? Heavenly. The noodles? Perfect. The toppings? Chef's kiss. And can we talk about the sides? The pickled radish was crisp, refreshing, and exactly what it needed to be. The kimchi brought just the right amount of spice and somehow made everything taste even better. Every sip, every bite, every slurp was an event. This isn't just ramen. This is the ramen that ruins other ramen for you. 1000/10. No notes. Just me planning my next visit before I even finished the bowl. read more

There are many eateries whose names invoke an aunt or uncle as the keeper of age old recipes. In contrast, noona (누나) denotes more of an older sister - perhaps someone who has taken a more modern twist on the classics. On my first visit to Noona Noodles, I actually was more in the mood for a rice dish, and went with the classic bimbimbap. The gochujang sauce, mushrooms and tofu were all delicious - it was in fact one of the better versions I've had in recent years. It was a hot day, so the naengmyeon looked attractive but sadly is not vegetarian. There are however quite a few vegetarian ramen dishes on offer that I will try next time. read more

Really affordable Korean noodle soup spot! Everything is reasonably priced and the portion sizes are pretty large. They used to be in the food hall in k-town but now have a small store a few blocks away. I tried the Kalguksu which had a really tasty broth along with some brisket and noodles. I miss 엄마 밥 (homemade meals by Mom)... I have been going to Noona Noodles (on 36th St between 5th Av and 6th Av -- no longer in Food Gallery 32) multiple times now, the only place in Manhattan that serves Sujebi 수제비 (made from scratch in house)! It is as good as 엄마's potato-based hand-torn noodles (매끌, 쫄깃, 부드럼 smooth, chewy, soft) . But unlike Mom's, it's served in a bone broth 곰탕, seasonal greens -- served with beef brisket, chicken, or kimchi. Both the 수제비 dough consistency and the broth are amazing . Of note, it's very different from 삼청동 수제비 in Seoul, but just as good -- if not better! Friendly service. Order & pay first at the front. Leave the tray when finished. Casual ambience. read more

I was looking for a bite to eat in k-town after a day wandering around the city, and I was intrigued by Noona Noodles. They had a vast selection of noodles displayed right outside their shop, and honestly, a nice hot bowl of noodles sounded like the perfect meal for a chillier day. The prices do seem a bit high, but once I received my bowl and saw the generous portion, I didn't mind the price! I ordered the bulgogi ramen. The beef itself was crispy and tasty. The dish also came with an assortment of veggies (carrots, scallions, radish, and kale). I asked for an egg to add as an extra. I expected to be poached, but I received it as hard-boiled - which is okay, just not what I expected. This place is great for a solo, sit-down meal. Service is also very kind and attentive - no matter how busy it got! I sat down, and my bowl was brought to my table. I was offered water once I sat down. Returning to Noona, I decided to retry their jjampong, now priced at $18. The noodle soup remained relatively unchanged. The portion size was quite generous, and so too was the amount of seafood. Ample mussels, both head-on shell-on shrimp and peeled shrimp, as well as octopus, adorned the bowl. The soup was rich with stock and garlic aromatics. Notably, the smokiness of wok-sautéed vegetables (wok-hei / 鍋氣) was present as well. One glaring difference was the spice level. Despite ordering it spicy, it seemed mild to medium at best. I broke a sweat from the hot August day rather than from the spiciness. read more

came here by recommendation of my friend with my friend! the menu was simple! the space cozy and the service amazing! I ordered at the counter sat down and my food was served to me. I got the kimchi fried rice no egg and added kale mushrooms bok choy and shrimp with a hot tea and the canned grape soda, the fried rice was so savory! the veggies fresh the mushrooms tender the kale and bok expertly cooked and still crisp! the side of kimchi and pickled raddish was a great reprieve from the hot rice and mild spice from the dish! and the canned grape soda? 5/5 ! the cherry on top and then to find out there were pieces of grape in the can? next level! dinner and dessert all right there! Solid noodles, and really fast service, the staff was also super friendly. We got the Sticky Crispy Dumplings and Kalguksu, which both were fast and fantastic. The dumplings had a little bit of a kick to it, but still delicious. The broth was very hearty and it was steaming hot. I got the beef brisket, but I didn't really end up liking the texture inside the soup I thought it didn't really complement the noodles well. The noodles had great texture. Ambiance was fluorescent light bright with steel bowls, a little sterile in some ways, but got the job done. Swung by for a quick bite and thought this was a great midtown find. This was my first time trying naengmyun or 'icy spicy soup'. The noodles stuck together a bit but the flavors were wonderful and I loved the cold broth. A very brown dish, it tastes much more flavorful than it looks. It hit a craving I didn't even know I had. What a great casual noodle restaurant. Such a selection of different Korean and Asian noodle dishes. I can hear on a cold November day, and the noodle soup here really hit the spot. My friends and I came here on a whim after some karaoke a few streets down. The food did not disappoint. The portions were HUGE. A great value for what you pay for. You order at the counter and pay, and they will call your name or help bring your tray to your table. Lots of options to choose from - and you can customize your spice level for some of the dishes. This spot started off as a hole in the wall in a food hall in K-town and my friend cried legitimate tears when she saw this placed had been removed. We then found out it's now a new restaurant with its own location in K town (rightfully deserved), according to my friend who raves about their okinomoyami (which is vegetarian) and their spicy ramen noodles. I got their icy spicy since it was a hot day and it was delicious! Though I wish that the price was lower for the amount you get and that it had shaved pear instead of radish, but it was still delicious! Really good spot for classic Korean noodle dishes. read more

Some places set themselves apart by getting hundreds of details right. My bimbimbap was full of generously proportioned fresh ingredients, delicious flavors and crisp condiments. I was so pleased and surprised that in a town where no one offers a for here cup for coffee, my bimbimbap was served to me in a substantial white ceramic bowl. Although it's the norm, nothing is more distasteful than hot food served in plastic. This little place is a cozy find in Koreatown. Looks like the locals know it. It's full at lunchtime. It's a spicy Korean buckwheat noodles (I can handle my spice and it has a kick), topped with beef slices, a hard-boiled egg, cucumber, and pickled radish. new go-to naengmyeon spot! not mind-blowingly good but definitely checks all the boxes for what ive been craving: noodles are chewy, broth is icy, mustard offered, and topped with korean pear. the spicy version definitely has a kick and i preferred the normal. i plan to return to try their kalguksu but might just end up getting the naengmyeon again. read more

To be honest, I'm disappointed every time I come here. The ramen options look soooo good in the pictures but they just don't taste how you want them to. Ingredients are boring, service is fine, flavor is never what i'm expecting. I haven't tried much of the menu but so far I must've ordered wrong because I've been extremely unhappy. I stopped by Noona Noodles in the Koreatown Food Gallery and ordered their Soo Jae Bi wide noodle soup with chicken. You can pick your protein. This was a crowded Sunday afternoon in the food hall and Noona Noodles tucked into the back right corner was no different. This collagen soup ran around sixteen dollars and, in take out mode, comes with the noodles and kimchi packed separately. Despite the crowd, Noona Noodles took around fifteen minutes to prepare this soup. All the businesses give you a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready. The customer facing people working there are very nice. The soup was good when I got home. It is savory and gthe collagen broth is rich. They are generous with the noodles and the chicken. It is a substantial serving and should satisfy any appetite. This is a good soup if you are under the weather. There are the onions in there along with the kimchi. It's not spicy and some people may find the flavor a bit wanting, but Noona has other offerings with heightened spice levels. This is good comfort food at a decent price that will satisfy. Got the icy noodles and the first item on the menu (started with a M). It was in the food court on the right. Cold icy noodles were ok, there were 2 small pieces of beef that were very overcooked. Otherwise, it was just noodles, cucumber, one egg, and Daikon. Very refreshing for hot weather. The other bowl was hot and also quite refreshing, lots of veggies and flat noodles. The kalguksu serving was pretty huge and it was good! Great for a cold day! The ramen tasted a little too artificial like instant ramen so I wouldn't say it's worth the price. Located inside Food Gallery in Ktown, Noona Noodles has some good soup, stew and ramen! You order at the counter, get a buzzer and wait for the treats! The shop owner is very nice and the cashier is pretty quick. Always tip a $1 for their packing of food. Prices at Food Gallery has increased but not ridiculous and is still affordable. I've tried their fried dumplings before but wasn't a huge fan bc it was overly fried and greasy. But lately I've tried their "Icy" - which is the cold noodle.., and I enjoyed it! Hits the stop list right. Love they give you so many sliced radish which compliments the buckwheat noodles and vinegary cold stock. Especially for such hot weather in NYC. I wish they cut the noodles up before packaging the takeout... cuz by the time I get back to my office, it was difficult to undo the noodles... so you pretty much have to chow down - face down to the bowl and chew carefully not to splash your own face. read more

They open LATE in the night! We were feeling a little peckish after a Knicks game. I wanted something warm and soothing. Maybe because it was almost closing time? But the shrimp tempura udon I ordered did NOT hit. The broth was suuuuper salty. The shrimp tempura was soggy when it came out and I picked it up right away when the buzzer went off. The highlight was the mango shaved ice bowl--it was absolutely delicious and perfect for a hot summer day in NYC. This is a great spot for drinks, finger foods, or ramen with friends in the area. One friendly reminder: the restaurant requires everyone from your party to be present before seating. They will not seat incomplete parties.

The interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming, which made the overall dining experience uncomfortable. Customer service matters just as much as the food, and sadly this visit fell short. The smashed cucumber was good. Spicy dumpling was good. Ramen broth was light, not as rich or flavorful as others. There are so many good ramen places in NYC, this Chinese Ramen place has lot of room to improve.

However, our service was great and I cannot say enough kind words to the staff. The rest of our company enjoyed their food. Our wait was at least an hour and a half and were texted when our table was ready. They have indoor and outdoor seating with one bathroom for all to use. I got a "pick me up" and it was perfect gave me a beautiful caffeine kick to start the day I recommend for sure. It's one of the larger stalls in the market and has some seating, but not enough, and the market seating is very limited as well. I ordered the hibiscus lemonade and the very spicy Dan Dan Mian. I loved watching the staff prepare the noodles while waiting. My bowl was huge and absolutely delicious. It was very spicy as promised, but not too spicy that it was rendered not enjoyable. I looked at other orders and everything looked delicious, leading to only semi-regret of my choice. My lemonade was very good. I'm very much looking forward to returning.
