Kind of a weak take on a pork roll breakfast sandwich, but I appreciate the effort and the service was very friendly.

Bagels are a very light color, dense as they should be, but a little on the small side. I was happy to see a NJ favorite on the menu; a pork roll, egg & cheese (Taylor ham) but it wasn't anything special. Minimal meat. Cheese wasn't melted. It wasn't made as the hot, hardy, gooey sandwhich it should be. Coffee was fine but they didn't have any creamer. Powdered creamer was the only option. That's fine for free coffee at the mechanic, but when I'm paying for it put out some cream! (Woman behind the counter was very friendly and offered to pour some milk in, which I appreciated). In short, it wasn't a bad place but I would not go out of my way to go back. Did not remind my of a NY bagel, despite the name.

Smells SO good when you walk in. Like fresh bread and savory toppings. Ordered the Norwegian, and it was so warm and toasted when she handed it to me. Lots of drink selections! They were quick. Ordering, preparing and walking out the door in no time. We will be back!

The owner of this place is the nastiest human being I've had the unpleasant experience of meeting. Picture a tall, mean, woman that looks like she could kick your butt... with compression socks. I was legit scared of her. So here's the deal. Two days ago, I stood in line & paid for 4 bagels. Paid about $8 & change, left a tip... then was told to wait. After waiting a stupid long time, I said nicely, I'll just come back tomorrow to pick them up. I'm on vacation with family. Due to unforeseen circumstances, could not pick up the next day... so I went the following morning. I explained the situation to the owner... and very rudely, she insisted that I re-pay for the bagels, bc she made them "special for me", (no, they were your average, sellable, garlic bagels)... rolled her eyes, saying she'll give me a discount. Fine. I waited in line, patiently, I get up to the front and explain the situation to the worker. She wanted to just give them to me, but I was honest & explained I was told to pay again. My discount? About $.50. Basically, I just paid again. The woman working was apologizing all over herself bc none of this made sense. So I'm now sitting in my car, confused & contemplating why the heck did I just have to pay double for bagels that first weren't ready for me, bc I wasn't ready for them?! ‍ I feel like I should have said something, fought a little harder... but I'm white. I didn't want people pointing & calling me a Karen. Plus, like I said, I was scared she would beat me up:(

A perfectly ok breakfast sandwich. The blueberry bagel wasn't super blueberry flavor, and it needed to be toasted a little more. Great service, though. And the lines are shorter than any other nearby breakfast care type places.

We needed quick breakfast food and stopped by NY Bagels. I was nervous that they were close to closing & they would not have any bagels or they would be old but we were able to get fresh ones! Staff was very friendly! The bathroom was really nice and super clean which is always a good thing!

Bagel is good, but egg is gross. Not the pleasantest place to eat. Good service. Would come again, but just creamed cheese.

Love the delicious sandwiches, fair prices, and the ability to get a turkey club for breakfast-- for our non egg loving people.

A toasted bagel it was not. Heated perhaps? Small selection of bagels but we were not impressed. Would not go back.

Worst service I have ever experienced on phone for a terrible bagel. So rude on phone and bacon was barely half cooked.

Barrier Island Bagels offers a variety of bagel sandwich options, build your own bagels with different spreads, and there are cocktails available, too! Fancy! On our visit we were seated pretty fast even though the place was full. Our server was friendly and attentive. My husband and I really enjoyed the two toasted bagel sandwiches we ordered and shared. One was sweet and the other savory. There were several customers picking up orders and the counter stayed busy with walk-ins, too. This is definitely a popular, fun, and cozy option for locals and tourists alike.

This year we had: The Jersey: Lox (can come with a surcharge) on a rosemary bagel with dill and onion cream cheese. Hangover: bacon, egg, and cheese on an egg bagel with cheddar. The space isn't large but has several 4/5 seater tables. Pro Tip: There is parking around back.

Coffee Shop No. 410 Outer Bean…read moreKitty Hawk, NC September 5, 2024 If there is one thing I have learned over the last two in and a half years it's that a genuine smile and a warm greeting goes a really long way. It can transform an ordinary drink into something special. It makes the magic of coffee last throughout the entire day. I was immediately welcomed when I walked into the Outer Bean. Initially, I was bummed because cortados were not on the menu. I asked the barista if she would try to make one. She said sure. I gave her general directions and she walked to the espresso machine. A couple of minutes later she handed me a cup with two shots of espresso and a stainless steel pitcher with steamed milk. The barista said, "Why don't you add the milk in so you get it just the way you want." I thought this was a thoughtful gesture. I thanked her and made my cortado. We chatted a bit. It turned out she is Thai and my husband is Thai; and I love to talk about Thailand. I took a few pictures. We exchanged goodbyes and I exited the cafe with a genuine smile and a very positive impression of the Outer Bean. Smiles are free and they can elevate and/or improve any situation. Plus, folks always look better when they smile. I hope you make this world a better place by sharing your smile with someone today. Thank you to the barista at Outer Bean who shared her smile and made my day brighter. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

It got the job done as I enjoy one cup a day and was a bit behind schedule. The place is small, but perfect for a coffee shop where take out is mostly occurring.
