We are Mug Club members and have been for 4 years now. Brought our family, party of 8. First off, they were out of half of the beers on the menu. So we got cocktails. Wanted the winter mojito or their special one , to find out they're out of coconut syrup so we couldn't get that. Settled for a regular one. We started our order with apps, mainly being the Buffalo chicken dip, which was one of their best appetizers on the menu, only to find out they discontinued it, citing it was the least ordered and one of the unpopular ones. Highly disappointing ! So ordered mozzerella logs, to then find a plastic bread tie in our marinara sauce! They comped us the sticks, but we should have been given at least our round of drinks on the house. Then odered dinner which was a disappointment as well. Had the meatball boat special which frankly tasted like something a cheap pizza take out would offer. Not homemade meatballs at all, soft and pressed meatballs like from Sysco. Luke warm at best. I didn't even want to finish it. Another member of our party ordered the Caesar salad which had MAYBE a tablespoon of dressing on it, Maybe. She was scraping dressing from my plate for her salad. Overall highly disappointing. I feel like they have sacrificed the quality of their establishment, maybe getting to big for their britches? or I'm not sure what. But we will most likely not be renewing our Mug Club membership this year. This was one of our favorite places to go at least once to 2x a month. Now, it's diminished. I'm a frequent customer of the NYBP in Lockport. My friend and I made the trip up to visit this NYBP to hear my friend's good friends' band play while we ate at the bar. I liked the space and light. What I didn't care for was there were no paper towels in the bathroom. The garbage can was located far away from the bathroom door handle, which meant you had to take your piece of toilet paper you use to exit the bathroom with you and find another garbage can to throw it away. I also didn't appreciate when we ordered from the bartender, she immediately asked for a credit card to start a tab. We said we were paying cash and weren't dining and dashing. It was very weird. They don't ask for a credit card when you're sitting at the tables in the bar area, or tables in the restaurant area. That made me feel weird the rest of the day, and not welcome. I had the brewery bbq burger. It was good. Their food is pretty standard, and unless you order something really crazy, it is normal and nothing out of the ordinary. I've been to the Victor, New York location now twice and each time I've had a great experience with delicious food. Staff are friendly and accommodating. I would suggest if going for lunch you may want to get there a little early (if possible) the restaurant both times I went seemed to get very full, very fast around lunch time. This last time that I went I had the Key West Berry Salad with Salmon and I have to say it was probably one of the best salads I've had in a very long time! The salmon was cooked perfectly and the fruit and lettuce were all fresh and crisp. It was a big portion and while I don't eat as big of meals as most, but I think anyone would completely agree it was a generous portion size. Lots of easy access parking too! read more

Not sure what took us so long to stop in. This summer on Tuesdays they have B1G1 free drinks at the Tiki bar (The drinks have to be the same). This location is huge, clean, and full of natural light. The upper level, they call a Tiki Bar, but doesn't appear anything like a Tiki Bar, still has a comfortable, positive vibe. Staff has always been wonderful, responsive, and friendly here. The drinks are inventive and made from quality ingredients. Many beer varieties, ciders, and a rotating hard seltzer on tap. The mozzarella log appetizer is enough for 4, they are definitely logs not sticks, they're huge! If you are looking for a cheese pull moment, then you are in luck. My husband loves the beef on weck sandwich, which is so flavorful. The sweet potato fries with the brown sugar marshmallow dipping sauce is a must, worth the $1 up charge. The fried Nashville chicken sandwich was good, but not as spicy and seasoned as I would've liked. Get a side of ranch, it's creamy and herbacious. They have a great selection of seasonal specialties, Sunday brunch, and take-out is available. Wonderful location for drinks, snacks, or a meal. read more

We were here twice in one month due to gymnastic meets for my granddaughter. We did brunch and a late dinner. Both times we were greeted and told us we had to wait at least 1/2 hour each time - since there were 7 of us. Both times we were seated within 5-10 minutes. I guess we were lucky there were no big parties waiting to be seated. Brunch was awesome and great mixture of breakfast and lunch items. Note: they also have a kid's menu. I am not going to get into what we all ate, but half of us order breakfast items the other ordered lunch items. All good was excellent and tasted great. Our service was awesome. It was a beautiful sunny day and the fresh air and streaming through the restaurant. Late night dinner was awesome. Our waitress was so accomodating and patient with our granddaughter who was being quite particular in what she wanted. Because she did well in the State competition, the waitress gave her a non-alcoholic shirley temple. She was so happy. We again enjoyed all the food. Great quality, excellent taste and not too long of a wait. Overall, very happy with this place. We live closer to the lockport location and this place was just as good as Lockport. Went there for Mother's Day. Seated in the upstairs loft. They had a live band playing up there that were so loud we were not able to carry on any conversation. Here's my updated review: We came to NYBP for a birthday. Service is friendly. We sat outside and it was very nice. Music at a good volume, sidewalk is clean. As most everyone knows, the atmosphere is great, but I'm slightly convinced this new-age modernity and decor are being paid through overpricing food that lacks. "Overglorified bar food". So, the problem herein lies the pricing when compared to the food quality and amount. Our friend is Celiac, and was given a gluten free menu (great!), and ordered the clams gluten free (basically meaning no beer). These were just basically just clams steamed with water. This was a $17 dollar dish, and our friend left hungry. There was some butter on them, that's all. $17 dollars for that? It just doesn't seem right. Along with that, the person who brought our food out (NOT our server), had some attitude upon my friend clarifying whether or not the clams were gluten free. I mean, thanks for that. If my friend eats gluten, she gets very sick. Our other friend ordered a steak burger. The description was phenomenal. The sandwich, not so much. "It's just a slab of meat on thin bread". He ordered medium rare, it came well done. Along with that, the portion of this sandwich was just not worth the price ($20). He got a Cherry Blonde beer, thought it was okay, but is not interested in having it again. Now to my meal: Kimmelweck sliders (I think?). These are three of Arby's dollar roast beef sandwiches, NYBP's just has some sea salt thrown on top. The aioli lacked in flavor, as did the meat. I ate one and was bored. I'd rather have saved some money by spending $13 bucks less and getting three Arby's sandwiches. My appetizer, the giant pretzel, was dry, though the sauces were really good. The other person ordered some burger, cooked overdone (same as the steak sandwich). The truffle fries were pretty good, so we're happy about that. He also got an Amber beer, and was okay with it. Overall, we felt that the food is simply overpriced, and we are left feeling underwhelmed. One person left hungry, the others are questioning why they paid so much for some burgers and fries. read more

My family (party of 7 and a high chair) came here for a celebration this past weekend and had a really lovely time! If you are coming for your first time, I would highly recommend the lunch hour. I think it is waaaay less crazy and our service was outstanding throughout. Full disclosure, I haven't tried any of the beer, so this is more for the food, ambiance, and selection. For apps, we went with the pretzel and chicken wings. They were unfortunately out of the fruity sriracha sauce that is on their menu currently, which was a bit of a bummer. The wings we did try (mild & medium I believe) were tasty, though, with classic crispy skin and not overdone. The curry dipping sauce that comes with the pretzel is absolutely addicting. The pretzel itself is standard and probably enough for 4-5 people to share. I went with an original moscow mule and the salmon B.L.A.S.T wrap with no avocado. The wrap was good and I particularly enjoyed the aioli that comes with it. I would order that sauce alone with a side of fries and just go to TOWN. Overall, I would say NYBP boasts some really spectacular decor with average pub fair food. There will be something for everyone at the table as the menu is expansive, which is a huge plus. Overall, I don't think I will return for dinner but will absolutely be back if I am on that side of town for drinks and snacks. read more

Went for dinner on a Saturday night and was surprised there was no wait at 6pm. We got to sit on the rooftop patio which was nice and mostly in shade. My brewery BBQ burger was really good (although I asked for medium rare it seemed more like a medium). The fries were good but nothing special. My dad has had the chicken tacos twice know and really likes them. We got the skillet cookie for dessert which was doused in chocolate fudge with walnuts and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. There's a large parking lot and a ton of tables inside with an interesting aesthetic and lots of natural light. Our server was nice too. I'm not sure why but everyone on the patio had plastic cups for water which was disappointing as they are all single use. read more

I've been here a couple times and it is quickly becoming an area favorite. The ambiance is beautiful, unlike anything else I've seen outside of major cities. Be prepared for it to be busy- it's a popular spot even during the week. The burgers are very good- there is even a sampler of burgers. I like the one with avocado the most. They brew several beers here- I've tasted a few but no favorites to name. The sweet potato fries are great. There is a new specials sheet every month. Even when it is busy the service keeps up and food comes out fairly quickly. There is a lot of parking as well as a kids menu. Next summer I'd love to check out the patio on the roof. I decided to title this review... The spaghetti warehouse of craft breweries I know some of you might not be old enough to get the reference but those of you are will understand exactly what I mean! The physical space is fun and funky although very loud. By 9 PM though it started to become a ghost town even though they were open till 1 AM... That might just be Rochester - or maybe the burbs We tried the destination IPA and a flight that included the peach cobbler, the pear vanilla, another IPA and the jelly donut. The IPAs were good - then probably the jelly doughnut followed by the peach cobbler and we both dislike to the pair of vanilla unable to discern any hint of either flavor in the beer For food we sampled the trio of tacos... There was a beef a fish and a chicken. The beef was a ground beef and looked like it could've been made in my kitchen at home. The pieces of fish were crunchy but flavor less and the only condiments served in the flour tortilla with the fish tasted like a braised red cabbage. Lacked some real acidity and salt. The chicken looked better I didn't taste it... slices of avocado, bigger pieces of chicken and other vegetables. The redeeming food item that we did try was the pretzel... If you're a connoisseur of brewery pretzels this one ranks high on my list of favorites... is a pretzel ever worth $10 though that's another question up for debate Service was miserable... We sat at the bar and at one point we counted eight workers behind the bar but it was impossible to capture the attention of our server. Other servers eventually saw us trying to flag her down and came to our aid. . . Not sure that we go back any time soon as there are so many other new craft brewery options in the area to try. read more

This is a meeting point when we visit our sons at college. We sit outside because we have our dog with us. Anyway, went to the hostess station and she tells us it's a 35-40 minute wait for a table. I ask her about outside and she said she can seat us now. Which is perfect. Although chilly out, we were pressed for time. We were seated and then waited a while(about 10 minutes or so). I went back to the hostess station to let her know that no one had come out yet. She let someone know. I waited another 10 minutes and then went back in to say we were still waiting. That's when I meet Donnie who asked me how he could help. I explained to him what was going on. He told me that outside was closed, BUT, not to worry. He will take care of us. Phew!! Crises averted! He came out not long after and took our order. He was friendly, professional, and did a great job. I really appreciate that he made accommodations since we really didn't have much more flexibility in timing. Our food was good as always. The hot Pretzels are a must. (We've been to the Lockport location twice and Victor twice).. but unfortunately we live 5+ hours away. Donnie is an asset to NYBP! Thanks for a great experience. read more

I really enjoyed this place! Came in the early evening hours, no wait for a table. Started with a flight. Really enjoyed the root beer stout, Starburst sour, Creepy Neighbor and Coconut IPA. All of these beers were so good!! For food we had medium chicken wings, shrimp tacos, beef on weck sliders. All were delicious! The truffle fries were excellent as well. We can't wait to come back. Everyone loves this place, and I don't know why. Maybe it's because I don't drink, but this place doesn't do anything else right besides the drinks. The appetizers are really good and the service is very friendly, but I always hear people rave about the food, and the main portions are gross. Overly salty and greasy, essentially bar food but worse, and even more expensive. I ordered the beef on weck after ordering very unsatisfactory wings last time I visited, and man. Kimmelweck rolls do have a good helping of salt, but not this much. And it was greasy. So here I was for my entire meal, scraping salt off the bun, eating the medicore and bland fries to occupy my time. My girlfriend ordered a pizza, I forget which one, but the sauce was bright red with some watery Mac n cheese, and it just looked kind of nasty. Probably won't come here again read more

I've looked forward to visiting this restaurant for a long time. We had the chance to visit on a Wednesday evening at 6pm and were seated in the upstairs dining area. It was a large, dimly lit room. Our server was Morgan and service was ok. We requested water without ice, extra lemons and got 2 glasses of ice water with one slice of lemon each. As someone who has worked in the food service industry, it is frustrating when a server does not pay attention to these details. Onto the food, the cauliflower buffalo wings were flavorful, except not crispy and a bit soggy. We've had this type of starter at other restaurants and this was the least impressive we have tried. The celery was dried out and browning on ends (which I showed to server and manager). I had the Cancun chicken salad which had browning, wilted lettuce. I was able to eat the chicken that was seasoned nicely, however had to pick around the rest of the plate. The wild game burger was over-cooked from medium we requested. Truffle fries on the side were lukewarm and mushy. When our server came back, we addressed the issue and a plate of fresh, crispy truffle fries were brought out. When cooked properly, the truffle fries were the highlight of the evening. Th manager did provide an attentive ear to hear our complaints and see that the food was less than fresh. He took the salad off the bill and provided drink tokens for another visit. Hopefully we will have a better experience when we visit this restaurant in the future. read more

We picked this out for lunch during a recent Rochester trip based on how much my wife and I enjoy the Lockport location. While very similar in a lot of ways, this one didn't live up to the hype I had for it. The building itself is nice enough and in a lot of ways beats the original. We got seated fairly quickly somewhat near the door and our waitress was extremely attentive. I ordered a beer and a burger (the one that's supposed to be a like a big mac) and attempted to add bacon to it. When it came out not only was it missing the bacon, it was missing half the ingredients the menu listed it as having. I ate it as delivered and it was fine, but not what I asked for or ordered - just kind of a plain bland cheeseburger. The beer was OK, pretty average no real notes on it. This was a nice enough 4 star visit but they dropped points in forgetting half the ingredients on my burger. read more

It was so crowded! And the wait was over an hour! I probably would not have waited that long for a place I have not been to before, except my family really really wanted to go here. Food was good. Service was friendly but VERY slow. We had to ask for water refills constantly! They missed my substitution of Sweet Potato Fries and had to wait until my entree was almost all eaten before I got them! I had the steak sandwich. Which was a VERY lean steak on a big bread slices. Normally I like lean meats, but when it comes to steak sandwiches, I like them more juicy, which means the steak needs more marbling of fat! Located in Victor, NY, NYBP is a huge brewery with great food and good atmosphere. Lots of their own brews on tap, plus lots of others, for a total of at least 20 different brews. We ate in the separate bar area, but there is a huge dining room as well. It was very busy, so service was a little slow, but honestly not bad at all. The fried pickles were lightly fried and served with a yummy dipping sauce. Battered, not breaded, for those who care. Pretty tasty! The Buffalo wings were well cooked and crispy, though I would've liked a tad more sauce. Very good flavor though, which is nice since sometimes places just try to focus either on heat, or no heat to avoid making people who can't handle heat uncomfortable. They do have some hot flavors, but I found the medium to have great flavor with just enough heat to complement it. The chicken sandwich was well cooked and pretty tasty, though it wasn't specifically mine, so I can't comment a ton about it. Seems like a pretty good place...good food, good beer, good atmosphere.
