I have moved 4 times in the last 5 years. While the environmental benefit of using BoxUp makes me feel good, the move using BoxUp was the most efficient and easiest I have had, and I moved from a 5th floor walk-up to a newer building with a hallway as long as that hotel in The Shining. The ease moving part is what I was hoping for. BoxUp was very responsive via text about scheduling drop-off and pickup of boxes and supplies, and their website was easy to use. I wasn't sure about whether I would need a couple of extra items (dollies and stuff sacks) - they were responsive and helpful to questions. Movers really liked the ease of use of actually moving the boxes, as they stack easily for carrying/wheeling down hallway and for packing in truck. What I did not expect was how helpful boxes were in the packing/unpacking process. Easy to open and close, stack, label, and move (I'd recommend 2 moving dollies for packing - pack a few crates and then wheel them over to the corner out of the way - minimize picking up boxes). I'd certainly use them again.

Incredible moving box rental service from BoxUp. So organized you won't believe it

Boxup saved our move! The entire packing process was so organized and smooth I couldn't believe it! Wish I had known of them sooner!

I live alone and don't have much furniture. This is how I used BoxUp crates and dollies.

They had seamlessly loaded the contents of my 650 square foot apartment including large/heavy fragile furniture with glass (8 foot tall dresser with mirror weighing 250 lbs, and 50 galloon reptile tank) in about 1 hour. We promptly left via car to meet them at our new address in Philly, and they arrived at exactly the same time as we did. They unloaded the truck in about an hour again, and helped partially unpack and put items in the proper places, especially the furniture that would have been hard for me to move on my own later. I will continue to use Piece of Cake, and have recommended to several friends over the years that I have been using them. It was quick working with the customer support team initially to quote the move, make payment, and on COIs and confirmation. When we move again in a couple years Piece of Cake will be the only mover I call. My recommendation to others considering the service, be transparent and honest about the contents of your move, especially items requiring extra protection even if there is an additional fee involved. There were no surprise add-ons in my move because we carefully selected every single item that would be included in our move early on in the process, and made sure to reply in detail to the follow up emails regarding insurance, access to the apartments (stairs vs elevator, reserved elevator, etc.), and so on move-in day everything went off without a hitch. Piece of Cake are professionals and we love the service.

I can't get these boxes by going by supermarkets, I need real boxes that have never been used. It's not me, it's my stuff - none of my things like to be anywhere where food, livestock or various sundries have been first. I have ordered from U-line in the past, but their shipping is outrageous, almost as much as the whole order. I did a little Google search and found suppliesformoving.com. At the time of the order, I had no idea they were in Brooklyn. The site is clean and all the information is readily accessible. One can guarantee that this website did not cost a lot of money, but it works. One of the best things about this company is that they have pre-prepared packages of boxes, tape, etc. divided by room and/or rooms which makes it a little easier. They have boxes for junk, boxes for tvs, boxes for lamps - are you following me here? They have supplies for moving - tape, blankets, plastic wrap, paper. So I go online and make my order (FREE shipping by the way on everything!) and expect it to come in a couple days according to the site. After the confirmation of sale is where it gets good. 30 minutes pass and I get a call from the company saying they can deliver today, the same day, in the late afternoon. OK. One hour later I get another call that they can deliver right now. Yes please. Approximately three hours after I ordered many, many boxes, they arrived in perfect shape. Having no idea this company was in Brooklyn, I guess I should consider myself lucky. The customer service was fantastic and the boxes have been working just fine. If you want quick, efficient service and if you want to get your supplies to pack and move in an instant, go to suppliesformoving.com.* ________________________ * If all of the bottoms of the boxes break while moving, damaging all of my kids' toys and my valuable possessions, I reserve the right to come back and be extremely agitated.

I measure it with my iPhone and it's literally 5'x3'x4'. Literal false advertisement by these scammers. They carried things out, I loaded the truck, done by 11:30 am, I drove the truck upstate, got there by 7 pm. Perfect all the way around. The second time, however, was disaster on a level I could have never imagined. I requested a 20' truck for a 300 mile move. Last time we finished before noon and I was expecting the same time frame. Fat chance with this crew. I let Lifestyle know I would pack and blanket all furniture ahed of time cuz I was placing things in a garage on the other end and could not unwrap. Still, the truck showed up full of blankets and boxes and supplies, taking up tons of space. They took 80% out of the truck, not all of it. Only two men showed up for a big move, so I packed the truck. Maybe the foreman didn't like that a 65 yr old worked them under the table, but the inexperienced man insisted I pack the truck his way- ya' know- since i'm doing his job? I did so reluctantly, saying I would trust him but we better not run out of space. Guess what - we ran out of space and I had to leave some things behind. The foreman refused to use the elevator, so the two guys carried everything out by hand, box by box, item by item. Furniture was roughed up, boxed were dropped, everything dumped in the street behind the truck, just a total shit show. I have a leather, electric reclining couch that unhinges for an easy move. The foreman didn't do that. Instead he removed every nut and bolt from the frame and left the supplies on the floor. Now I have couch parts, a metal frame, and a bunch of nuts and bolts. I'm not sure how it all goes back together cuz - I don't build couches with electronic moving parts. What the living F? By the time we finished it was too late to drive upstate. The next day, on the other end, and 300 miles away, the driver showed up alone, no help. Said his worker wouldn't get out of bed. Sweet - more F'n shit show. I hired someone to help us unload the truck into my garage. All moves suck, but this one topped the list of inexperienced workers who complained during the load up, a load up they made worse. The foreman was elbows out, no standards, hated his job. Nothing is more frustrating than a company that doesn't give a shit about you or your move, and Lifestyle definitely dumped their worst on me and my move. I'll prob be using that insurance if I can't get this 2K couch back together. I tipped because they worked, not for a job well done. If you hire Lifestyle, you're taking a 50/50 risk.

Summary: + good price…read more+ fast and overall fine service + overall nice workers - poor communication - some unprofessionalism - some damages I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars, but ultimately landed on 3. I want to provide enough context so anyone considering Solidarity Movers can make an informed decision. Overall, this was one of the better moves I've had, but not one that warrants the 5-star reviews I see here. My husband and I moved from MA to NY due to family circumstances. The move was already stressful before it began, which is relevant because Solidarity was recommended by a friend who had a great experience with them. Given some poor experiences I've had with movers in the past, I felt confident choosing them. Unfortunately, things started off rocky. I completed a video walkthrough, received an initial quote, and then requested a revision. After that, communication stalled. Multiple follow-ups went unanswered, and I couldn't even get confirmation that my request was being worked on. After about a day of silence while other companies were responding consistently, I was ready to book elsewhere and left a review reflecting my experience. Within minutes, owner Zak called me. He was understanding, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about my concerns. Communication improved immediately, I received the revised quote, and their pricing felt fair, so I booked the move. A couple of weeks before the move, I reached out to confirm everything was still on track and asked about payment. I was told, in writing by Mike, that the remaining balance would be due "upon completion of your move." To me, that clearly meant after delivery. The move was scheduled for June 19 with overnight delivery on June 20. The crew was originally expected between 12 PM and 2 PM but arrived around 4 PM due to traffic. Traffic happens, and I had no issue with the delay itself. The crew was polite, worked efficiently, and seemed to handle our belongings with care. Unfortunately, this is where my experience started to decline. While packing, I overheard two crew members make a joke about my husband and me. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever heard, but it was disappointing to become the subject of a gay joke, especially from a company that publicly projects queer allyship. I chose not to make an issue of it, but another customer may have felt differently. Once loading was complete, the foreman informed me that the remaining balance was due immediately. This directly contradicted the written communication I had received. When I raised the issue, Mike acknowledged there had been a miscommunication but insisted I still had to pay on the spot. What made the interaction frustrating was how dismissive he came across. He stated this was standard procedure and said he would investigate the miscommunication, but unless there is another Mike, the miscommunication originated with him. Rather than create additional stress for myself, I paid the balance and moved on. To be clear, I still tipped the crew generously because they worked hard. By the end of the move, they had received $1,200 total in gratuity, or $400 per mover. The next day, delivery was delayed again due to traffic, but the unloading process itself was quick and organized. The crew followed instructions, reassembled our storage bed, and got everything into the house efficiently. After unloading, I was asked to sign paperwork stating everything had been delivered without damage. This struck me as odd because we hadn't unpacked a single box yet, so there was no realistic way to verify that. Like many people at the end of a move, I signed because I was exhausted and just wanted the process finished. While unpacking later, I discovered our $1,500 credenza had been damaged. Two interior shelves were broken, one completely split in half. Several glass items were also broken in transit. Nothing irreplaceable, but damage nonetheless. Could I file a claim? Sure. But after an already stressful interstate move, I don't have the time or energy to go through another lengthy process. Instead, I'm leaving this review so others can make an informed decision. Despite everything, I would still consider recommending Solidarity Movers, especially for a local move. The crew worked hard, and this was far from the worst moving experience I've had. However, the communication issues, payment confusion, dismissive handling of that confusion, inappropriate comment, and damage to our belongings prevent me from rating the experience higher. If you're reading reviews because you're planning a move and trying to make the best decision possible, I hope this helps. Wishing you the best of luck!
