So much easier to move with BoxUp crates than cardboard boxes. We moved a 450sq ft 1-bedroom using the 35 crates (all ended up getting filled). The crates stack up very neatly, unlike cardboard boxes, and are much easier for the movers to move. The drop-off and pick-up were punctual and flexible. We originally booked for two weeks - took one week to pack, two days to unpack. BoxUp was able to pick up the crates early and get them out of our way. Reuben did the drop-off and pick-up and was very professional. BoxUp also conveniently offers other packing material to be delivered with the crates. The green wrap was perfect for small pottery pieces, and the bubblewrap was great to protect art. Looking forward to booking BoxUp again when we have to move! read more

Boxup was seriously such a wonderful part of our move. We went with the 2 bedroom package since we have a LOT of stuff and it was perfect! The boxes themselves are really great- the perfect size for 95% of our stuff (we had a few oversized items). Their construction gave us good piece of mind that it didn't matter how we/our movers stacked them. No collapsed boxes of dishes here! They were also so accommodating with drop off and pick up, coming a couple days early to pick up the boxes since we were all unpacked! I have moved 4 times in the last 5 years. While the environmental benefit of using BoxUp makes me feel good, the move using BoxUp was the most efficient and easiest I have had, and I moved from a 5th floor walk-up to a newer building with a hallway as long as that hotel in The Shining. The ease moving part is what I was hoping for. BoxUp was very responsive via text about scheduling drop-off and pickup of boxes and supplies, and their website was easy to use. I wasn't sure about whether I would need a couple of extra items (dollies and stuff sacks) - they were responsive and helpful to questions. Movers really liked the ease of use of actually moving the boxes, as they stack easily for carrying/wheeling down hallway and for packing in truck. What I did not expect was how helpful boxes were in the packing/unpacking process. Easy to open and close, stack, label, and move (I'd recommend 2 moving dollies for packing - pack a few crates and then wheel them over to the corner out of the way - minimize picking up boxes). This is a long overdue review, but better late than never! I've used BoxUp twice over the years and they are fantastic. The crates are heavy duty and extremely sturdy, and perfect for moving. Drop off and pickup at our building was super convenient and easy peasy. We are about to move again. I did more research as usual, to make sure I was getting the best value, and BoxUp still provides the best prices and options. Last time, we moved from a 1-br with den, and ordered the 1-br package and bought cardboard wardrobe boxes separately to save a few bucks but this time I think we will just rent the wardrobe boxes. Highly recommend using for your next move. The drop off and pickup was seamless. Ruben was on time, called with a 15 min warning to arrival, super friendly and very efficient getting the crates in and out of my apartment. The crates were clean, included necessary materials (labels, pencil, zip ties and dish/cup inserts for order) and the box count estimator was accurate for me. Incredible company!! This will save you so much stress when moving. These crates are very strong and so easy to use. Pick the amount you will need, and they deliver to your door at your moving address. I also recommend the wardrobe closets so you don't need to take your clothes off the hangers. The dividers for plates and glasses are another brilliant time saver. Do not hesitate to call for these packing supplies! The crates have blank labels and they give you pens to write on. When the boxes arrive, they are stacked, so they don't take up too much room. As you pack boxes, you can stack again. FORGET SEARCHING FOR OR BUYING CARBOARD BOXES! And definitely forget all that work taping cardboard boxes! They have others supplies as well. I ordered one little dolly so I was able to wheel the crates around the apartment. Zip ties are provided, but I only used a few because you really don't need them-just click and seal each crate. The customer service is also perfect!!! I am so happy I discovered this amazing company! The boxes were a godsend (SO much easier and more efficient than cardboard boxes) and cuts down on a massive amount of waste!! You could easily spend as much on cardboard boxes than you would with BoxUp, and these guys are a thousand times better with much less hassle. The bins are spacious and can fit a lot of things (although obviously some larger items you'll have to pack in a different way) and getting in and out of them is super easy. They also stack in a great way, both empty and full, I think they are just brilliant. Their wardrobe boxes and glass and dish dividers came in handy too. They even have eco-friendly packing material, which I was happy to use. Lily (one of the owners) was super helpful, flexible and understanding too. Having a deadline (which you can extend too) is really useful in unpacking the bins once you move as well. Boxup made moving really really easy. The boxes were easy to pack, easy to stack, and the labels were nice and big. The movers I used had an easy time moving the boxes and it was easy for me to take something out of a box if I needed it, which came in handy when it got unseasonably cold in September. The zip ties were easy to secure and remove which made packing and unpacking a breeze. Communication all around was simple and straightforward. Ruben delivered and picked up my packages and was extremely nice, wore a mask the whole time, and let me know when he was ten minutes away for both pickup and drop-off. In addition to being an excellent service, Boxup worked with me when last minute I had to push my pickup window later in the day. I appreciated that level of flexibility. Pretty solid experience. Initially, we booked the 1br package (35 bins) and added a wardrobe box, but I decided switch to the studio package (25 bins) and remove the wardrobe box since my partner and I don't own that much and our movers give complimentary wardrobe boxes. I just replied back to my confirmation email and Lily quickly refunded the difference. We paid extra for someone to deliver to our door because we have three flights of stairs. The delivery guy was super nice and help explain everything once he brought everything to the apartment. The bins were a great size, but I noticed some felt oily/greasy to the touch. I'm not sure if it's the cleaning solution they use or what, but I went ahead and cleaned every bin when I was ready to pack it. Overall, I had a good experience and would recommend them. read more

If you live alone and don't have much furniture, but have lots of little things. I highly recommended using BoxUp supplies. I used their crates for my little things and a dolly to roll the stackable crates. I have one big furniture - a chair. Unscrewed the chair legs and put the chair onto the dolly and put other stuffs into the chair. I was able to move everything so quickly and no need to fight over the elevator. Most important I don't have to deal with cardboard boxes afterward and spent more time on decorating my place. Fantastic! read more

It's literally one of the most stressful things you can do. as a professional transient i find myself in the pits of hell once every couple years, and just did another... but this was different. GET THESE BOXES. here's why - you pack more into them, and they make packing much faster. no tape. no tape gun noise (akin to fingernails down a chalkboard for me) no brown stuff from packing tape all over your things. they're environmentally friendlier (i checked with a sustainability friend who confirmed this and hot air hand dryers - in 1 phone call! talent.) they bring them to you. you dont have to dispose of the old boxes, or wait for some nutcase to come pick them up after 75 bogus craigslist enquiries you have to unpack - if you dont, you keep spending money. i could have cooked in a mug for 6 months, refusing to unpack the kitchen if i hadnt gotten these grey-green love machines. so you just do it, and thats good. they're sanitized and everything was super clean. throw your loose cheese in one, eat it on arrival at the new digs. the people who run it are super nice, prompt, and eager to respond with help. read more

They helped me figure out how many boxes Id need based on how much stuff I had to move, and when I got stuck at work and had to ask them to make their delivery a few minutes late they had no problem being flexible and working with me. Add to that the fact that I didn't need to go out an buy boxes, bring them home, put them together, break them apart after unpacking and deal with getting rid of them, and I can't wait to use BoxUp again. Box Up is such a great idea -- it is the only way to move now, in my view. No more scrounging for cartons, making the boxes, taping them, flattening them down after the move and then figuring out how to get rid of them!! We ordered 50 crates for a 2bed apt move, to be on the safe side, and I think we used around 45 of them? Packing the kitchen (which is by far my least favorite part of moving), was a breeze with the dish and glass inserts. Since we were moving within our building, having the dolly meant that we could do a lot of the move ourselves, saving money on movers. The crates were very sturdy, and I loved the stackability. The labels included were fun to fill out and slap on the boxes. Their email support team is highly responsive, and the person that dropped off and picked up the bins (Rubin I believe was his name) was kind, helpful, and full of joy. LISTEN TO THE EXPERTS, PEOPLE. Lily couldn't deliver on Sunday (our desired drop off date) due to the 5 borough bike tour, so she dropped them off on Saturday and we got the extra day free of charge. Total game changer. BoxUp was extremely helpful, and made our last move so much easier. Not having to tape up traditional boxes and break them down when we were finished was enough to make this well worth it. Beyond that, it makes organizing everything extremely easy, and the actual move go a lot quicker... which is helpful when you're paying by the hour.
