Great spot to check out. I walked around to see if there were any other spots that would make my food quick and to-go and this was the best one so far. Got the cheeseburger combo with Curley fries-extra crispy. Highly recommended for anyone who needs something on-the-go and fresh! There was I believe a pizza spot across from this place too, but I was feeling something decently filling as I had a long flight. Staff was also friendly and the place itself was very clean.

Per someone's recommendation who works there, I tried the power blt which is turkey bacon, avocado, and lettuce in a wrap. Lowering the bar since this is airport food, it was pretty good for the price. If you're at Terminal 8 American Airlines near gate 40 this could be worth it. Friendly service was appreciated.

My girlfriend got a focaccia sandwich here and it was delicious. They heat it up so they get warm and crispy as well. Would recommend this over their cold sandwiches, which were the same price. Really good and would eat outside an airport too! Fast service and good food!

As I walked towards my departure gate, New York Deli instantly caught my eye as a place to order food from within John F. Kennedy International Airport - American Airlines terminal. I ended up purchasing a Black & White New York cookie because I had no interest in purchasing any of their food items presented. There was a vegan - pad thai meal that caught my eye, but it was cold! Likely, I would have purchased it as a last resort, if there were no other restaurants available in the airport terminal. There were no disappointments in service received at the register nor with the Black & White New York cookie purchased. Its taste was soft and delectable. Being that I had a good experience with New York Deli, I would surely revisit whenever inside of John F. Kennedy International Airport - American Airlines terminal. ~Have courage. L was in the area so I told him to go try this place out. Only had one review so I was a bit…read morehesitant...I guess this place is new since the cook didn't even recognize the items on their own menu and had to check what was in it...so of course L got annoyed cuz I chose a sandwich they didn't recognize. HTF should I know that the people who work there have no clue what's on the menu. Yeah I chose the weird Philly cheesesteak sandwich. It sounded much better on paper than in reality. It didn't taste like a real Philly cheesesteak sandwich. It had a lot of mushrooms in it but the gravy sauce tasted weird and it barely had any cheese. He also ordered a halal gyro over rice. Not sure which protein... chicken probably... I really didn't care for it. It didn't taste like anything you'd expect from a halal place. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh but the seasoning on the food was non-existent. Where are all the spices! Didn't taste cumin, coriander.. garlic, etc! So bland. No heat whatsoever from the sauces? It tasted more like creamy bbq sauce. Don't serve halal food for the sake of having variety on the menu. The texture of of the rice was a lil odd for me and it wasn't basmati rice. I'm giving it 3 stars cuz it really was just okay, if anything, I'm being a bit generous. I didn't feel like cooking lunch on a Friday but I could've easily made something tastier for less money.

I stopped by Steve's Deli after work cause I was crazing a good chop cheese. I saw one review where…read morethey stated they had a good one at this deli. There are no options by where I work and this was not too far away from fresh meadows where I live. I must say 5 out of 5. It was perfectly made and bread was lightly toasted and it hit the spot !!! I hope that next time I crave a chop cheese it will be just as good as it was that day.

So I've been wanting to try the oh so popular Datz Deli for the longest after seeing them featured…read moreon a show on tv a couple years ago.. I finally was able to try them recently! I was not disappointed and didn't expect to be, as this is a "Guyanese Deli!" We don't play in the kitchen. I'm just saying!! I ordered THE JERK,(jerk chicken) w. Mac n cheese, chicken patty and coco bread. I was absolutely blown away by the incredible flavors. The jerk chicken was perfectly spiced, and succulent, while the mac n cheese was divinely cheesy (just how I like it) all nestled in the most delicious, slightly sweet and fluffy cocoa bread, topped with a rich, tasty gravy / sauce..a harmonious blend that was extremely gratifying to my taste buds!! This place truly delivers authentic Top Notch Guyanese / Caribbean fusion cuisine with a hint of soul food. Their reputation for the Oxtail / Jerk Chicken and patties with cocoa bread is well-deserved!! Datz's dishes are creative, bursting with flavor, and clearly made with passion, offering a genuine taste of the Caribbean. I'm so happy I finally got to try it and can't wait to try the OXTAIL DAT MAC!!

Stopped in solo for lunch when I was in the area on a Sunday afternoon. It's a hole in the wall…read moretype spot. I waited in line about 10 minutes to place my order. The woman taking orders was no nonsense but polite. I ordered the oxtail Mac and cheese beef patty. It was ready in about 15 minutes. It was just as rich, tasty and decadently unhealthy as such things usually are. I understand why it went viral, it's pretty damn good! Anything oxtail is expensive these days so it's not a cheap lunch. Would definitely go back to this or another one in the franchise if the line isn't too crazy.
