Miykey was the first tattoo artist I worked with and after my fifth piece (3rd from him) last weekend I can easily say he's the best artist I've worked with. He makes the experience as easy as possible. He listens to your input but isn't afraid to tell you what won't word. And his colors are some of the most vibrant I've ever seen. Add to this the fact that his tattoos, with the right care, heal cleaner than most. The shop itself is clean and inviting. Got my first tattoo here for my birthday :D Everybody said tattoo on your finger would hurt like a mother-- but Tasha made it completely painless and fun! She was incredibly friendly, and informative on tattoo-care. Just came back for a touch-up after a year (ink on hand is likely to fade due to washing and skin renewal), and the shop seems to be going under slight renovation. Some friends have noted that it's a little on the expensive side compared to some other places out there; but for sanitation, experience, and skills, I'm sure it's worth your dollar. read more

They weren't terrible, but I don't think I'd go back. I came it with friends one night wanting to spontaneously get matching tattoos. One of my friends drew out a sketch of the design on a napkin, and they basically just took that and did it. They really didn't touch it up or anything, so it's a bit wonky. I mean, there's a charm to the wonkyness. it's not like one of us got some perfect, ornate thing and the others got crooked stick figures. We all got something a bit off. It just would have been nice if it felt like they put a little bit more effort in to it. They were all super nice guys, very accommodating. I think they charged a little much (we paid $100 each for what must have been 10 minutes of work each, including prep time), but overall it's a fun memory and I had a good time. read more

Wow! New York Hardcore Tattoo is one of the best shops I have ever been too! Amazing artists/work! They make you feel right at home! Here is my adventure: My friend and I decided to go to New York, get tattooed, and eat some great food! We didn't really have it planned out, anymore than that. We didn't know what we were going to get tattooed, or who we were going to get tattooed by. We figured we would just "wing" it, and hope for an amazing turnout. It was better than we could have expected! We chose to visit NYHC Tattoo on a Thursday, since they offered old school tattoos for super cheap. We didn't feel comfortable getting one of the cheap tattoos, since they all incorporated NYHC in the tattoo. This was our first time here, and thought it would be super tacky to get one. ( We aren't even from the city/state!! haha) We decided to go with traditional flash, and randomly picked things from the books they have in the waiting room. My friend decided to get a skull and I opted for a beer mug. haha. I know...its tacky enough! Anyway. Baz greeted us in the waiting room, we told him what we wanted, and he said to come back in an hour and half, and he could get started on us. Then put out his hand for us to shake. I thought to myself " Wow! Never had this happen. I especially didn't think it would happen at a tattoo shop in NYC!!" We walked away and felt pretty good about getting tattooed, in NYC, by Baz, on a whim! We got back to the shop, Baz immediately greeted us, asked us how our lunch was, and we talked about the amazing BBQ joint we went to ( check my other reviews, because that place is definitely deserving of a great review!!). He started by tattooing my friend first, and then me. We joked, laughed, talked about music/tattoos/beer/liquor/Philly/bars/EVERYTHING!! I really felt like we had known this guy forever! Next thing I know, my tattoo is done! He gave a recommendation of a bar that he liked to go to, so we went there, had a few beers, and reflected on one of the best tattoo experiences I have ever had. It's more than just a tacky tattoo. Its a memory, that I will never forget! Thanks Baz, for such an amazing tattoo...and time! I can't wait for another adventure in NYC. By the way...I need to mention Oscar! He was the other artist there. He came over and checked out the tattoos, and made a point to say bye when we left. My girlfriend and I wanted to get matching pieces for Valentine's Day and he totally hooked it up for a really reasonable price. We got these sick roses he drew for a Valentine's Day special and he knocked them out of the fuxking part. Super talented with tricky spot as my girlfriend got it between her breast and I on my neck. Though I have a high pain tolerance, my girlfriend was a bit more sensitive and he made sure to ask if she was alright in between so you don't have to worry about enduring the pain too much. I went in as honest as can be to get a coverup bio-mech tattoo, and I run into Baz who goes on to disclose his many years of experience. I informed him how I stood away from tattoos cause i did not want something to be embarrassed about. he looked me in the eye and said he was good and would do a great job. I am not a jerk, he can do small projects, but for what i wanted a little truth would have been the honorable thing to do. Now i had to find someone to re do a re do. Very Dissapointed! And 150 an hour is outrageous for his work. I am being as honest as possible. I cant place photos cause there in my old phone, but when I do you will see.
