I was pleasantly surprised! This place was good. The food came out timely. The women who brought it out was so nice. The bruschetta was amazing. The topping was fresh and flavorful and the bread was soft and crispy all at the same time. The greek salad was huge. The pizza was delicious and did truly remind me of NY style pizza, maybe just a little jucier though which I am fine with. Would definitely go back if I am in the area again. Only thing, the guy who took our order was acting strange. When we ordered he was abrupt and short. Had us repeat ourselves often. When we went back up 5 minutes later asking for water glasses he asked us if it was for togo...we were literally sitting in our booth 10 feet away. He just gave an overall nonfriendly vibe. Fantastic crust with an amazing crunch you can only get in the east coast typically. That alone carried the pie hard! Terrible experience all round, I would not recommend. I have been going here off and on for almost ten years and never had an experience like this. I arrived at 11, just as they opened for the day. After quickly reviewing the menu for what I want, I order 2 slices of pepperoni pizza for $6 each according to the menu. When I go to pay the bill with my card, it seems rather high for 2 slices and a soda at $20. I pay and get the receipt noticing the 2 slices came to $15.52, $7.76 per slice (weird price btw). When I enquire, I was told that the video menu board is wrong and the correct price is in the computer. Further, someone is coming soon to update the board. I'm in no mood to argue other than to say that it's a bit slimey, getting nothing in return other than a curt head nod as he walks away. To make matters worse, I then notice a special for $8.99 on a side chalk board (who knows if this price is correct or not) for a slice, salad and soda. Had I known that, I would have opted for that. You'd think that is enough, but it gets much worse, cuz the food wasn't good and the food is everything, right? After a few mins, the 2 slices come out. Clearly this was from last nite. You can see in the pic that he did a lame job of trying to cover up the old, refrigerated cheese with a bit of new cheese. And he had only warmed it enough to melt the cheese and not warm it thru. The slice was luke warm at best with a soggy crust. Not a pleasant eat at all. I finished that slice and brought the other slice home hoping I can salvage my over-priced slice in my own oven. I don't think it's an unreasonable expectation to get freshly cooked pizza when they have just opened for the day. Needless to say, I will no longer eat at this place. Terrible customer service, prices AND food. No redeeming quality worth my money. read more

This place was really good! We grabbed garlic knots, a 14" cheese and a pepperoni jumbo slice. The knots were dense dough in a good way with a large helping of heated marinara. It was really good but could've benefited from some more garlic. The pizza had delicious puffy and chewy dough but well cooked. The service was great with attentive and helpful staff. This place used to be our go-to for NY Style. It's a shame the only size options are 14 and 24. 14 is just too small for my fatass. In any case, the 24inch used to be great, but the last few times we ordered it (both from this location and the one off El Dorado), the crust has been so incredibly thin, I wouldn't have argued that they just took their 14inch dough and REALLY spread it out thin. read more

Sat down with 3 other friends to try and enjoy a pizza and caprese salad. We were served under cooked pizza, the undercarriage was a lighter color than msbraids bread, and gave less support than a wet sock, severely lacking in cheese for a 30+$ pizza. The caprese salad was put together by clearly rotten food. The cheese was fine, but the cucumbers that had to be subbed in for medical concerns somehow left burns on my mouth, and had a unbearable bitterness that puts thermal receipt paper to shame. When bringing this issue up with the staff, they refused to issue any kind of refund or remake any of the food for us. After dealing with everything it seems we spoke directly with the owner/manager but were lied to about any kind of refund and told us to come back tomorrow to do something about it, they however offered to throw out our food we spent over 60$ on: Piezilla - 34$ 2 side salads - 6$ each (12$) Caprese salad - 12$ 4 drinks? (Charged for water) - ~10$ Total for our table : around 66$ before tax and regrettable tip. DO NOT EAT HERE. I will never be here or the sister location ever again. This place is a joke. No wonder there's so many horrendous reviews of people not getting refund or their food outright. read more

This was our first time trying this place, and unfortunately, it'll be our last -- all because of one employee's attitude. We walked in and ordered, and everything was fine until my friend took a cup for water. The male cashier immediately told her, "That's not permitted, you need to ask." Which is fair -- and we had no issue paying the 25 cents. But the way he said it came off as patronizing and accusatory, like we were trying to steal something. It was unnecessarily harsh and set a weird tone for the rest of the visit. After we finished our food (which was genuinely great), we asked for a to-go box. My friend even joked, "I'm scared to ask for a to-go box," because of how tense the vibe already was. And that's when things went downhill. The cashier overheard and started lecturing us about how we should have requested and paid for the box when we ordered. He escalated the situation quickly -- arguing with us, cutting off another staff member we were calmly speaking to, and even ignoring the customer he was helping to keep the argument going. He insisted we were just upset over paying 50 cents -- which was never the issue. It was his confrontational attitude and the way he talked to us like we were a problem. He even said, "If you don't like the service, just don't come back," and when we asked for a complaint book, he said they didn't have one. One of the other employees (a woman) was understanding, and tried to defuse things. But even the girl putting the pizza in the oven looked over it and eventually told us to just leave. This happened around 5:25 PM, in case management wants to look into it. If you care about keeping customers, this is the kind of behavior that drives people away -- and it's a shame, because the food really was good. But good food isn't enough when the service is this hostile. We won't be returning, and we'll be warning others to think twice too -- especially if that cashier is handling your order. read more

Born and Raise in New York.. I was impressed with the 24" pie. This is a luxury to have a place that understands what a true regular slice is!! And the garlic knots (we say 'gawlick') were spot on. Large and dripping with seasoned oil. The dipping sauce was perfect. Then to top off the meal, as if the pizza wasn't astonishing enough, the NY cheesecake and cannoli.. This is actually our second time having this pizza and totally forgot about it being a gem. We ordered a 24" pepperoni pizza and that baby was HUUUUGE. Each slice was def bigger than your head. It's super thin crust, which is a personal fave. Would have given it 5 starts if the crust was just a little more crisp, but we could have easily ordered it well done and totally forgot. The cheese bread was good and the marinara sauce that accompanied it was very tasty. Only one person was working, so as business picked up and he was making pies, those in line would have to wait a few mins, but nothing crazy. Husband orders this - salad is very simple and delicious. The pizza slice is giant, super thin and super crisp, very flavorful. I ordered a "Slicezilla" where you can choose three toppings - this time I had bacon, onion and tomato. Everything was delicious. It also comes with a pickle - I'm a fan of it!! For beer drinkers there are plenty choices, for kids and others, there are wonderful soda flavors. Important - iced tea was fresh as well. This is my favorite for the super thin crisp crust pizza. Being that it was our first time there, the cashier did a great job giving recommendations and just being patient with us. If you're anything like me, then you "eat with your eyes." So, the original "NY Pizza" location, the one in Allen off Stacy Rd by the outlet mall, was run by this family from NJ and, my word, they made a good pizza pie...I'm just going to say I miss them and their pizza. Now, I've been to NY several times and I'll tell you I've had much better pizza in NJ, and w/out all the pretension of a lot of the NY places. Of course, Brooklyn has some legendary spots, but IMO, NJ is really where it's at pizza-wise. I've also heard of some really good spots in the CT part of the NY tri-state area, but I've never actually eaten at the infamous "Apizza" places, several of which have been in business for multiple decades. Anyways, the restaurant now known as "NY Pizza & Pints" so far has been a true disappointment. The quality went down tenfold when the new owners took over! DISCRIMINATED~I arrived here about 7:30 ish. There were 2 guys working, both Hispanic. As I was reviewing the menu, there was a lady who walked in. I let her go in front of me. He assisted her with no effort. After she was done, I walked up to begin my order & he told me to wait until he finish adding up the I guess daily tickets. He wasn't even polite about it....Let me point out, the lady he raced to assist was also Hispanic. Some may disregard this, but I felt totally discriminated against!!!! This prompted me to leave & I appreciate that because their lack of Customer Service drove me straight to Brothers Pizza in McKinney. Treat ALL your Customers with the same level of RESPECT! I found the pizza to be one of the worst I've ever had first of all there was so little sauce and when it came out of the brick oven, it would just look like it was painted on.
