Fantastic local pizzeria. Enjoyed a large half pepperoni pizza, delicious garlic knots and bread sticks. Staff were so friendly and helpful as we were travelling through the area and had called in our order. It was promptly prepared, nice and hot. The dining area and bathroom were so clean. I really liked their chicken parm, side salad,garlic bread,and boneless wings.That was about it unfortunately their Stromboli was under cooked and their pizza was dry not a lot of sauce. The staff is pleasant and they are quick to get orders out. read more

We stopped here earlier this month on our way back from our Niagara Falls vacation. This has got to be one of the WORST, if not the WORST, restaurant that I've ever been to in my ENTIRE life. It desperately needs to be on Kitchen Nightmares. The fact that I still remember to this day how horrible the food, service, and cleanliness of the bathrooms and restaurant was, is one for the record books. Let's just start with the bathroom. I WISH I took a picture of their bathroom. It's so NASTY. Not only was there a sign that says something to the effect of "Bathroom For Customers Only", but even I, a PAYING CUSTOMER, will NEVER enter that cesspool of what they refer to as a bathroom EVER again. When sat down at one of their "booths", the booth itself was falling apart. I think it had a big dip in it as if some anvil was sitting where I sat down for the past 30 years and it just got removed the day before. The table was dirty. These things should have been a BIG RED flag for me to RUN AWAY, but I stayed hoping things would get better. The waitress made us WAIT for a long time, and EVENTUALLY she came to take our order. Joy ordered Alfredo Fettuccine (one of her all-time favorites in any restaurant), coffee, and I got a hamburger and some slices of cheese pizza with soda. When the food eventually arrived, something was off putting with the food and it didn't taste right. I couldn't complain because the waitress either ignored us or never showed up -- I think she was in the other room talking on the phone or socializing. What makes matters worse was that for the majority of time, we were the only customers there and I couldn't even get a refill for over 20 minutes for my soda. Joy did not like the Alfredo Fettuccine because it tasted bland. Because of the waste of money spent, I forced myself to eat everything, but in hindsight, I wish I would've just hot-tailed out of there after the bathroom venture and found a decent chain restaurant to dine at instead. Note: I took a minute to read some of the 1-Star reviews here on Yelp and on Google for this restaurant and they too share this nightmare that I have experienced. LET THE BUYER BEWARE! The last two times I patronize their business they refused to make anything except for pizza & deep fried food. I must admit, their hot sandwich are phenomenal. Their pizza on the other hand SUCKS. It's the most expensive and lacking taste pie in the county! I am done with this business and shall not return!! read more

My ventures in upstate New York brought me to the humble yet charming town of Marathon. New York Pizzeria is smacked direct in the middle of the town and easily accessible to tourist or those driving by. It was a no brainier when we decided to pop in for a quick lunch on our way back to NYC. The small established offer the Pizza staples that one would expect, several pepperoni and cheese pizzas were ready-cooked so tourist can grab a slice on the run. We decided to order a whole Pizza and 15 minutes later were treated to a Chicken-Veggie pizza with a variety of topping. It was refreshing to see broccoli, belle peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, olives, and a handful of other vegetables on the pizza - yet a tad overwhelming. The cook was rather generous with the portion size, especially when considering that every inch of the pizza was covered with some, from chicken to a veggie. Unfortunately this lead the pizza to be weighed down to the point where it started to collapse in the middle when being eaten. Despite the technical difficulties, the ingredients and combination of cheese and sauce still made the pizza rather tasty and enjoyable. If I stop by again, I would go for the pepperoni. I doubt it will face the same problems. read more

The NY style pizza is darn good, the subs are made with homemade bread, and the stromboli are fantastic. I think the sheet pizza is below average and sometimes the proprietor is a bit of a grump, but this place offers better than average Italian food for a very reasonable cost. read more

I've been coming here for I don't know how many years. I remember fondly coming here and getting fried dough. Back when it was just a basic pizzeria. They have expanded much more into a restaurant style business since then. There are things I love about this place. Like their round pizza is fantastic. It seems like a perfect ratio of cheese to sauce to dough, and is cooked amazingly. And their wings are consistently fried properly. Not to soggy or a crisp mess. The wing sauce scales nicely as well. Hot is a considerably notch up from medium. Which is something that is hard to find. Most places medium to hot is barely noticeable. I will say though that their wings are a little light on the sauce. Sometimes they are some wings that barely get any sauce. I love when I order wings and there is a copious amount of leftover sauce. Then I can dip my other food in there! I will caution against ordering their sheet pizza though. It was baked and what seemed like a frozen dough, that was very different from their round. Covered in only mozzarella cheese and very light on sauce. If you would have told me that this was the same place without me knowing, I'm not sure I would believe you. We ordered the pizza for pick up and everyone who at it at home was greatly disappointed. We didn't even bother to take it for lunch the next day. We sadly threw it all out in stead. read more

Stopped by on a whim for lunch while traveling home with the family. Pizza was yummy, although crust could have been more crispy. Bread knots came drizzled with olive oil with a great tomato sauce for dipping. Service was fast and cost less than a fast food restaurant. Waitress was very pleasant. read more

Last time I visited my dad in Marathon we got take-out pizza and wings from here. If this were in any other place I would not hesitate to give a one- or two-star rating. However, since Marathon has no other Pizza shop, I feel obligated to give a handicap star or two, if only for the reason that mediocre pizza is better than no pizza at all, so kudos for that, New York Pizzeria! Now that I think about it, my review may be a little harsh. I'm a pizza aficionado and I've spent years perfecting my dough and baking technique. I'm sure many people enjoy pizza from here. I would humbly suggest driving the 8 miles to Whitney Point and getting a Sicilian Special pizza from Aielo's, which I would probably rate a 3.5. read more

I only came her once and will never again. The service inside was terrible it was like I was a bother. The pizza I ordered looked great.....then took a bite. I was very disappointed that the "dough" tasted like it was that frozen shell kind instead of real pizza dough. We also got wings medium but there was no sauce on them just grease. I will not recommend this place to anyone and I will not be coming back. It definately was NOT worth the money. I cannot believe that this is a chain restaurant. The first and only time we tried this place they didn't put sauce on the wings. After we left our friends' house and came back a very rude woman said that all they would do is put sauce on the now cold wings. My husband asked for a refund and they refused, saying he should have called when he first noticed. He spent over $40 on the whole package. It takes a lot to upset my very kind hearted husband but this sure did. It's unfortunate that the woman had to be so rude about it because we get pizza almost every weekend and were hoping to get it here from now on because it's on our way. Oh well... read more

Don't give this place your business. My wife (keep in mind she was trying to corral 15 or more students while setting up for a dance) called here to order some food the students for lunch. She realized about 30 minutes later that she had accidentally called this place but meant to call a place by the same name closer to the school where she was setting up for the dance. She called to cancel the order and did not expect to get all her money back as she made the mistake, but the owner was rude right from the start. He basically said, "well, what do you want me to do about it?", as well as insulting her by saying "I don't know how you could accidentally call the wrong number?" He did not offer to refund any of the money, and after fighting with him on the phone for a couple days, he only offered a gift card for a little less than half the full cost, and made sure to say it can't be used anywhere else. On top of that, he had resold most of the food, so he made double money on all of this. I say again, do not go to this place. He does not deserve your business. read more
