We were in town for the baseball tournament at Dreams Park. It was like a second honeymoon. No kids in tow and our son of course stayed in the barracks. It was wonderful. :-) We came here with friends also parents from the team. Easy parking. Fast service. We sat upstairs - it was like our own private dining room. After a rough playoff loss, we came here for lunch. A bit off of the beat and path from Dreamspark. They have a small parking lot and there is street parking as well. We wound up parking a block away as they were pretty busy. You can dine in or take out. Table area was very clean. You place your order and they bring everything to your table. Service all around was excellent and smooth. Everyone went above and beyond. The kid got a small buffalo chicken pizza. I got a meatball parm sandwich. Meatball sandwich was very good. Quality of the meatballs was impressive. Sauce had a nice kick to it. They didn't cheap out on the amount of sauce or cheese. I made the right choice. I snuck a piece of the Buffalo Chicken pie. Chicken was on point. Nice size pieces. Not over powering with spicy sauce. Personal preference, dough was a little too thick for me, but again, that's my personal preference. We thought we'd get a slice of pizza as we weren't that hungry. But they had full dinners, sandwiches, etc., not just pizza on the boards. I ordered eggplant parm; my companion got lasagna. It came with salad & garlic knots. The salad was enormous & varied: olives, shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, tomatoes, not just lettuce. Really good. Then the dinners came out, on real plates with real utensils, not the usual pizzeria plastic/paper. Beautiful, large portions. Everything was really good (except the garlic knots were fairly ordinary). We ate on tables outside & got into a conversation with fellow diners, friendly spot. Every Columbus Day weekend about 30 members of our tractor club goes to Cooperstown for tractor fest. On Friday evening we order pizza and wings and on Saturday we order catered pans of food. From the minute you place the order to the time you pick up the food, all of the employees are very helpful and extremely pleasant to deal with. They are just genuinely nice people, even though they are always extremely busy. The food is always excellent. In a world of short staffed, frazzled restaurant employees, the staff at New Yok Pizzeria of Cooperstown stand out for their awesome attitudes and excellent service. Stopped in here recently and the experience was rough from the start. The guy behind the counter acted like a total space cadet -- honestly, he needs to lay off the reefer and pay attention to what he's doing. Basic service shouldn't be this difficult. And the food? Wow! If you are in Cooperstown for baseball this is a few minutes from Dreams Park. Seriously some of the most delicious pizza we've ever eaten. We ordered a large half pepperoni half sausage, onion and green pepper. It was cheesy. The sauce was zesty. The toppings were fresh. They had a wide variety of beverages including beers. Visiting and decided to get a couple slices of pizza before getting back on the road. I didn't actually try the pizza because saw someone eating a calzone and had to try one. It was excellent, a lot of filling, diced ham- some may prefer larger pieces of ham but I'm fine with a small amount. It was loaded with ricotta and mozzarella. The crust was very thin, which I really liked. It was unusual in that it was open on the top. I will be thinking about that for a long time! read more

I can not tell you how many times I have ordered from here and have had to wait over an hour for food. Today, I ordered ahead at 10 am for a 5pm order, and when I got there, I had to wait an extra 30 minutes. It should be done by then. There was plenty of warning. It's also a super small place, so when I had to wait for my food, there was nowhere to stand to not be in other people's way. That's not even the worst part. The worst part is that when I got my ranch pizza, they put tomato on it. It's a ranch pizza so that there isn't any tomato. If I wanted tomato, I wouldn't have gotten a ranch pizza. I would've gotten a pizza with tomato sauce. They also did not give me the sauces that I asked for with my chicken tenders. read more

2.5 stars. There's not a lot of variety around Cooperstown - mostly American food restaurants with an occasional quasi-Italian place. Given these limited choices, we settled on New York Pizzeria. We called for takeout and were immediately put on hold. After several minutes, someone picked up the phone but wasn't actually speaking to me - I could just hear the background noise. After listening in on the conversation for a bit, someone came on and immediately asked me to hold again, but then the line seemed to go dead. I hung up and called back a few minutes later, and was placed on hold again. This time, when someone answered, I was actually able to give my order. When I picked up, I asked if they had been very busy that day and was told that it was actually a fairly quiet evening, so I'm not sure what the issue was when I called in our order. We dined on the following while sitting at a picnic table outside our hotel: Fried mushrooms - not too good. The breading was soggy and had a greasy texture, as if it didn't spend enough time in the fryer. Chicken parmiagiana - chicken was a little chewy and the spaghetti that came with it had just a small amount of a thin bland sauce. The garlic knots were really good though. Garden salad - pretty standard mix of lettuce and other vegetables. This was fine, greens were crisp and the vinaigrette dressing was good. Pizza with spinach, mushrooms, and sausage - toppings were a little unevenly spread on the pizza and the sausage was sparse, but the crust had a good flavor and this was generally liked. So, definitely a mixed experience. Customer service and good quality could certainly do with a bit of an overhaul. read more

A busy, hot spot for delicious pizza by the slice or a whole pie. My son enjoyed two slices of pepperoni thin crust that are more NY styled. My boyfriend and I enjoyed a small veggie pizza pie that had a bit of a thicker crust and filled with fresh vegetables. I requested no black olives but somehow missed that it included broccoli. While I love broccoli he isn't a big fan. It was a bit overpowering on the pizza. Hot and delicious the small pizza was just enough for us and we were very hungry after touring the National Baseball hall of fame for 2.5 hours. I highly recommend this wonderful pizza spot. Just outside the downtown. Clean, good service and friendly staff. We ate in. If we are back in Cooperstown we will stop in again. read more

This spot was not our number one choice but the location we really wanted to try was closed. The location has plenty of parking and seating area. The pizza was good but not the best. If you want a fresh pizza order a whole pizza and not by the slice. If you order a slice they take a pre-made pizza and throw some toppings on it for you and put it in the over for a bit and there you have your pizza. I wasn't really impressed but it wasn't bad. In my previous review, I shared that the pizza wasn't great, but the garlic knots at New York Pizzeria were outstanding! That is what drove the three stars in my first rating. Since then, we've had pizza from here twice, and garlic knots once. Both times the pizza was "okay". A bit of a strange observation is the way they slice their pies... not evenly sliced, and in more than the normal eight slices. At first we thought it was just a fluke, but they are always cut unevenly and almost double the normal number of slices for an XL pie. This makes for a lot of arguing with the kids about who gets which slice when each slice is such a different size. Our biggest disappointment is that they changed their garlic knots. We paid nearly $8 for 6 knots (which they were TOTALLY worth in the past!!) and we're so incredibly disappointed to be given smaller, VERY over cooked, flavorless knots. This is the complete opposite of what it was! We would literally stop here JUST FOR KNOTS! Not any more. Never again, actually. They were dry, had no fresh garlic, and hardly any flavor. So so sad! I want to love this place. It's convenient and it's clean... not the nicest staff, but I will overlook that for good food... but they just don't have it. read more

It isn't shocking to find great NY style pizza in NY state; however, I wasn't really expecting to find it in the sleepy hamlet of Cooperstown, known mainly to me as the home Baseball Hall of Fame. We had lunch here on our way out of town after visiting the HOF the day before and found excellent floppy, greasy NY style slices here. I got pepperoni and onion and my husband got plain pepperoni and the slices were hot and fresh. The staff were super friendly, which I found to be the case pretty much everywhere we went in the charming town of Cooperstown. The only odd thing is they do NOT want you moving the tables. We moved to Cooperstown from downstate a few years ago (where there is some of the best pizza in the world), so our expectations are pretty high, but New York Pizza is possibly the worst pizza I have ever eaten in my life. It boggles my mind that when we drive by, there are actually people who exchange money for this "food", and I use that word very loosely. Go to Brickhouse in Richfield Springs. Very few selections around Cooperstown but I definitely hit the jackpot choosing it tonight. We had the small pizza 20 wing special. The only weird thing about this special is the price only includes a plain small pizza so every topping after that they will charge you. The pizza was pretty good for whatever you add into it. We added sausage, pepperoni, garlic and spinach. The ingredients seem fresh and pizza cooked very well. For the wings they were both winners. We had the garlic Parmesan and the sweet barbecue. The wings were good in size and cooked slightly crispy which didn't make it dry. I would definitely say these are in the top 5 for wings for me. After a long day at the HOF museum and Main Street, this place hits the spot. read more

First of all! When we went here we read reviews about the pizza not being all that. Pizza was great! The friendly staff helped us decide on what to order and they were right on the mark! PROS: You have got try their wings. They aren't some run of the mill small wings. They were the right size and cooked just right! Homemade bbq wing sauce was great. Pizza was cooked great and the crust was very good! Caesar dressing was the best we ever had! Plus the restaurant along with bathrooms were clean. CONS: Maybe a bit small for a larger group but they did have a second floor that we saw larger groups making their way down from. So that may be accommodating. ** There was a group of workers eating lunch as we made our way in. As they made their way down the stairs, one of the workers that appeared to be a young man in his mid 20's lost his footing, fell down and slid down about 10 steps like a seen from Home Alone. LOL His coworkers laughed at him and didn't even check on him, like it was a common occurrence. Gave everyone a good laugh. The staff checked on him and even called him by his first name with concern. He was fine and kind of chuckled and grimacing while leaving from his impression of a slide into home plate a couple blocks from the MLB Hall of Fame! Just a funny memory of our time in NY. Took slices to go heading back home from a visit to the Hall of Fame. Needed a quick bite to tide us over for the ride. Found this place on Yelp and did we luck out. It's evident they're using cheap ingredients because their pizza has no flavor. They use ground sausage...cheap! Dough has no flavor. And, their tossed salad was pathetic. Iceberg lettuce that was past its prime with hardly any tomatoes or olives. Very disappointing that they call themselves a NY pizzeria!
