Both were so delicious. My son ordered the Waygu beef burger and the hubs ordered the Grouper sandwich. Everything was very tasty, and the ambiance of the seating area outside in the breezeway was really nice for a casual lunch. First time patron and I must say, my last. The service was horrific. Wait staff came by and said she would get us menus. She never did, 2nd wait staff person came by and asked if we were dining inside? Well, we're at a table inside, so I guess the answer is yes. He leaves, no menus. Have an amazing experince. First time visiting NewCity Bistro located in Lake Mary and I love it. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere as well. We order the steak fries and the rosemary grouper and it was so delicious and tasty. It was cook perfectly. The steak came with a side of chimichurri. The grouper came with jade rice. They also have a great variety of appetizers, salad, sandwiches and boards. Their dinner menu starts at 4 30 pm and they also offer lunch menu. Love the vibes and decorations. We've had this place on our list for awhile snd we walked in Friday night on our date night. It was quiet with four other couples there. Great music playing cozy and inviting. We came here for the first time. Wanting fresh salads for a late lunch. We ordered the Tuscan Burrata with Prosciutto which was very tasty and huge. We also ordered the Curry Chicken Salad. This was to come with candied WALNUTS. The waitress never said anything to us but put the plates in front of us. Unknown to us there were WHOLE ALMONDS in the salad and it almost caused damage. The thing that will keep us away is how the waitress responded when we said that everything was nice but there were whole almonds in the salad. Her response was, "that's not my concern. That's the chef's job." It put me aback as I've never had someone in the restaurant industry say something like this. If you can't help a customer that expressed a concern then you don't belong in the customer service industry. read more

NEW FAVORITE!! Shay & Caroline are the BEST. He is a master at his craft and she makes this restaurant feel so warm and inviting! With a full restaurant on a busy Friday night, you'd maybe expect slower service... not with these two. Our table felt tended to every second we were there. Also, the focaccia bread... is out of this world. This is a place where the service is just as good as the food and the ambiance is very cozy and intimate, making the whole experience even better. Unfortunately the over peppered carbonara with large pieces of undercooked thick cut bacon (not guanciale) and pre-shredded parmesan was not any better. Ok.... We absolutely loved this restaurant when it was Pangea... My family of four literally would eat here once a week or more. We continued to support when they changed to New City Bistro...they have a couple of items that we really enjoy. Unfortunately, the last two times I have tried to go here they were not open. Once it was 1130 in the afternoon on a workday and they didn't open till noon, it was rightfully posted 12 on their door. I just can't help but ask myself what restaurant opens at noon for lunch... I was disappointed because I took an employee there for appreciation... But I get it was my fault for not knowing they open at noon, just never in 1 million years would've thought a restaurant wouldn't open at 11:30 to serve lunch. Today I went back with myself my two grown children and one of their boyfriends. I googled it before we went and it said they open at noon. We planned our day around it. We showed up at 12:20p, the door still says they open at noon. There were people inside and outside and we were turned away saying they weren't opening till 1230. I will not be back. read more

A great little gem in Lake Mary. I would argue that their Wagyu beef burger is one of the best burgers in town. Great service. Kitchen is open and you can watch the chefs prepare your meal. There is a lot here for a group with mixed tastes. They even have an excellent mixed drink menu if you just stop by with a friend. Well worth a visit first lunch or dinner. I ordered the Rosemary Grouper. The rice and tomatoes were delicious but the fish itself had an overpowering smoky flavor rendering it inedible. I'm not usually one to complain but I told the server and he said he thought it was called Rosemary smoked grouper on the menu. I didn't challenge it and called it my mistake only to find later the menu did not contain the word smoked. I'm really disappointed and won't be returning. I did enjoy the rose sangria and the ambiance. The server was otherwise good but this experience left a literal bad taste for me. read more

We should have left after the Charcuterie platter: They were out of the Bison Burger, soup, curry chicken, and the Frites. I ordered the mussels, they tasted like I was eating fire roasted tires covered with onions with an afterthought of overcooked frozen shrimp. when is shared my displeasure with our female server.. to our tables surprise she legitimately mansplained to me why I only took two bites and didn't like it.
