We were there just after the lunch rush on a Monday. Service for ordering was prompt and the food came out quickly. My Greek salad was generous and nicely presented. Hubbie's chicken Caesar salad wrap was dry, and came with nothing else like chips, so it looked tiny on the plate it was served on. I wish I could review the food, but we were shooed away by the manager (portly older man with grey hair) before we could go in. My husband and I were waiting outside with our small dog enjoying the weather, waiting for the store to open (we were going to sit in the patio area). While we were waiting the manager came outside and told us, "Take your dog somewhere else to use the bathroom, not in front of my store." Our dog was not using the bathroom, we were just waiting. I tried to explain this, but he didn't seem like he wanted to hear it so we left. I hope they don't treat all their customers this way. read more

Today I had a cup of chicken tortilla soup (very good) but unfortunately a very bad green goddess salad along side it. Tired tough lettuce and unseasoned tasteless chicken with 3 salad tomatoes thrown in. The cucumber did taste fresh, is about the only redeeming factor. When we arrived there was no one at the counter. After we finally got our order taken, it was an additional 10 minutes before I saw them making our food. There was only one other person in the restaurant. We were not given a drink lid, so I went up to the order counter to get one. Again, there was no one there. I reached behind the counter to grab a lid. A lady from the food prep area angrily yelled at me in a loud voice embarrassing me in front of the whole restaurant as well as my family. She said I was not allowed to touch the lids. I confronted her for being so angry. That made her even more mad. I asked for her name, but she refused to give it. Food is good, service is good, and I really like the ambiance at restaurant. I know this is basically known as a sandwich but it really is so much more. I really like the Newk's Chicken Salad on wheat berry bread. So fresh and so flavorful. I really also like the kettle chips. How fun is to buy a drink and get a cut that you can bring back and use on your next visit and there is no charge for the drink. Of course they also have water glasses. Walked in to order and they have a computerized ordering system. Well once you pick what you want it request for you to put in a table number. In order for you to have a table number there has to be someone there to give you a number and there wasn't. I walked over the ladies in the kitchen after waiting for 10 minutes and asked for some help and they screamed at me that they were busy in the rudest tone. I understand that they were busy but they were just talking in the kitchen and asked very nicely for some help to do that they would recognize the long line trying to order. I'm usually not a huge fan of Newk's, but today I decided to try the tortilla soup and it was actually pretty good!!! There was a mixup with the charge because Newk's register automatically rings up large soup pairings as medium pairings and "upgrades" the soup size adding $.50 to your cost, totaling $14.49, however Shawn and the manager assisted in fixing our order to reflect a more agreeable price! Shawn and his exemplary customer service (which he always has on every visit) will definitely keep us coming back. Shawn was excellent and very kind, and an example I believe all people in customer service should strive to emulate. We will definitely be coming back! read more

Here for lunch today and the girl cleaning tables off wiped a table, but pushed everything off into the floor, then left it and went to clean more tables and restock. Ordered 2 personal pizza's waited about 30 minutes for it to come out and what we received was the thinnest pizza I've ever seen. The crust was thinner than thin crust and more like a cracker with pepperoni and cheese on it. If you're looking for a cracker with pepperoni appetizer than this will be the meal for you. Do not order as your main entree. I asked the employee if this was normal for the pizza to be this way and she said "it's because the dough doesn't work with the cooks sometimes." Very delicious! I ordered it for delivery and it arrived very fresh and delicious. I ordered the "Q" and a slice of strawberry cake. The sandwich was very good. The chicken was smokey and tender and bread crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. Everything was hot and fresh. The strawberry cake was super moist and flavorful and just the right amount of sweet without tasting artificial. I don't really understand the negative reviews.
