I called the florist to let them know and express that the flowers looked as though they were a week old. Abosolute terrible job from their part on taking orders online. I placed an order 7/31 with the promise of the flowers getting delivered 8/1 between 0800-1400. I ended up having to call at about 1500 since they hadn't been delivered yet and turned out they didn't have it ready. They promised to deliver it by 1530 and they told me they weren't done with the order yet. The guy at the business has terrible attitude and cannot keep their promises. I was so excited when i received the beautiful bouquet of flowers in a beautiful pot for my birthday, from Newport Beach Flora! My daughter had it delivered early so I could enjoy it all week long. When she arrived at my home she was quite upset to see that the flowers were dying after 4 days. She contacted Newport Beach Flora and was told "flowers only last about four days in the heat"- that wasn't an excuse here as we keep our house at 60 degrees for health purposes. There were other excuses that were just as ridiculous and the florist wouldn't offer anything to make her want to do business with him again. They have now lost 4 customers. The succulents added are old and nothing like what's in the picture. When the flower lady called, asking, "kat, where are you? i have flowers for you", my immediate response was the popular morning show "Ryan's Rose" and was about to tell her shut the F up. And.. as a result of the negative energy, good things, usually don't happen.. "i don't trust you", i told her, as obnoxious as i could, as a queen bee to her slave. "i don't know any young man, nobody ever wants to give me flowers, bugger off!" i didn't bother to fake my prim and proper shit over the phone to some strangers. flower lady insisted, "Kat, i am not lying. Plus, what are you going to lose from giving me your work address? Place is perfectly secured." "have some faith", she said... what she never knew was, i have never had any faith in anyone, anything, including myself. have some faith, she said, with that soft yet easily-acknowledged persian accent, somehow worked a tiny miracle in my heart, that faint optimism i thought was long gone, somehow struggled its way out and pushed me mouthing a whisper of "yes". the flowers arrived. to my surprise, is the most random yet extraordinary arrangement of daisies, they were of various colors, dainty little things without the glamorous facade , who braved through my hazardous working environment in lack of water and carbon dioxide for almost a week. blooming by itself wholeheartedly like there is no tomorrow, like if she didn't care her insignificant beauty is being appreciated, but rather a way to prove her existence. i don't know what Mary went through prior to locating me, but if anything, Newport Beach Flora, even the young man behind the bouquet left me heart-broken without a word, you deserve a five star.. for at least, you gave me a reason to hold onto, the last glimpse of faith that's not yet numbed, by constant disappointment of the world. read more

She arranged a beautiful display of white and pink flowers with orchids in an impressive setting and charged less than other florists might have for a similar display. They have a great website. The flowers delivered were exactly as shown in the picture. The delivery time could have been better. I called at 4pm and it seemed as if they forgot about my order. They put me on hold to look for the order and then they said it would be delivered at 5:30pm which it was. I was hoping the flowers would have arrived earlier so that my Sister-in-law could have enjoyed them all day on her birthday. read more

EDIT-- The delivery guy came and personally apologized to me. He stated that there was a miscommunication on their end over the delivery fee. It goes to show you how much they care. This truly is customer service and I appreciate the gesture. For this reason, I have changed my two stars to three. I ordered flowers last minute for a coworker and needed them at a specific time to ensure that she was available. The delivery guy called, almost blowing the surprise, to make sure that I was willing to pay the extra $5 delivery fee. Seriously?! I had already paid online and made a note stating that I would be willing to pay extra for the delivery and inconvenience of my timing. You would think they would read the notes and communicate with the delivery person. On top of that, they didn't even charge my payment card the extra $5, the delivery guy requested cash when he walked in. He's lucky I caught him at the front because he legitimately asked me "are you paying me the $5 or is she?" You've got to be kidding me at this point!! If I requested flowers to be delivered to someone, the last thing I would expect is for the delivery person to ask THEM to pay $5 for their OWN flowers! How unprofessional!!! And why wasn't this $5 delivery fee not charged to my original payment method?! I'm so grateful I was there to catch him. I can't imagine what would've happened if I wasn't there. I would've been so upset! The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because the actual arrangement itself was beautiful! I definitely don't recommend delivery from them! read more

Newport Flora was the best! I found them online for a next day delivery to a friend in the hospital. Unfortunately the recipient had been transferred to another location and they were unable to make the delivery. The owner contacted me right away and stayed in touch until I was able to find out the new delivery location. I was planning my mom's funeral and I liked some of their arrangements that were online. I wanted to see if they could do them in different colors so I called and talked with Mary. She was so incredibly nice and told me that they could do any of the arrangements in the colors I wanted. I also wanted smaller vases with single roses for the table. She said she would add some other flowers and it would be beautiful. I trusted her and I am so happy that I did. I was surprised to find adequate parking at Newport Beach Flora...it is located on a side street off of PCH. The owner was very helpful and friendly when I went there to purchase flowers for a friend's funeral. It's a small hole-in-the-wall place which has to compete against bigger competitors, so he has to compete on service. Bigger isn't always better. I like to give my business to the smaller companies to keep them going. The bigger ones will always survive, but we need the smaller ones to keep prices and service competitive. read more
