" Nice little cafe inside the Library " Nestled little cafe inside the Boston public library. Now you can enjoy some delicious pastries and coffee while you're at the Boston Public Library. I also found a nice netted hat , the picture is below . I will now 100% represent a place close to my heart , the Boston public library . The food and coffee ; just want to mention ; it's fresh and delicious. The service and vibe is friendly and welcoming. I have been coming here since a child and the Boston public library just keeps getting better , so impressed!

Came for the Nova Trivia night. It was such a fun time and there were so many strong teams. The NOVA team made a good mix of interesting questions. Lots of cheering when everyone got something right. The carrot cake was delightful with a thick cream cheese frosting. It was cool to see the GBH broadcasting set up and also people in the library as well.

The Newsfeed Cafe is located right inside the Boylston Street Building of the BPL. They have a variety of hot foods and pastries, as well as many drink options. They also have Venezuelan food from Carolicious here on Thursdays! I ordered a caramel latte and some cheesecake bites. Both were good! Food and drink came out fast too. There's many tables too to enjoy your snack while you work, or enjoy an event by GBH. Definitely a great place for a quick bite while visiting the library.

Surprisingly good . Highly recommend the farmers salad and hot chicken panini. Join the rewards club and you build discounts.... Aka free cookies. You can eat here or out in the courtyard.

The food was tasty, but its location is noteworthy. It's situated inside the public library and Boston Public Radio records there! You get a front row seat to the various broadcasts.

Real nice cafe in the Boston public library. Very good bites and tea and coffee drinks. It's a real good place to have a drink and chill out. It shares its space with a local broadcast. I guess recently they had to put a sign that this was reserved for customers since less deserving clients just plop themselves here without paying for a drink or a bite to eat.

Nothing outstanding, nothing horrible. It's situated inside a library so you can expect the noise level to be a little on the hushed side. Can't go wrong with both the natural light from the semi-tinted glass to the indoor library lights. I really appreciate the open feel that it has. Seemed like a pretty normal day and I went in around 2:30PM on a Friday afternoon. I approached the counter and saw that the manager was briefing her staff behind the counter. I was able to catch the attention of one of the staff and she took my order quickly. Pretty standard cold-brew coffee taste at a standard price - nothing spectacular. This place is purely here for convenience if you're looking to not have to go outside for food and drinks during your time at the library.

Interesting environment to dine in. Got to see the news studio. Also right inside the library so it's convenient. I like their chocolate croissant.

Very slow. Subpar food. The workers are arguing with each other rather than making the food and the line is 25 people deep.

We walked into a space that mixes communal tables, stadium-style seating, and smaller spots to sit, making it a place where you can stop in for a quick drink or stay longer with a laptop. The interior design is one of the biggest highlights, giving the cafe a more elevated experience compared to a typical coffee shop. The tiered seating in particular creates a visual dynamic that makes the room feel more intentional than your standard coffee counter. The drinks are the main focus here, especially the matcha, hojicha, and espresso-based options. We ordered the hojicha latte, which was one of the strongest items on the menu, with a deep roasted flavor and a smooth texture. The matcha has a more traditional earthy profile and leans less sweet, which works well if you prefer a more authentic matcha taste. The drinks are on the expensive side, but the quality of the ingredients and preparation make it feel more like a specialty cafe experience rather than a standard coffee stop. The food and dessert options add another reason to visit, with items like the egg sandwich, quiche, macarons, and hojicha desserts available depending on the day. The menu is smaller compared to a full brunch cafe, but it pairs well with the drinks and gives the visit more of a cafe-and-pastry feel. Service is friendly and the staff are knowledgeable about the drinks, which helps when choosing between the different Japanese tea options. The cafe can get busy, and seating is limited compared to the number of people who come through, but the layout gives it a unique character. Ogawa Coffee works well for specialty coffee and tea lovers looking for a more intentional cafe experience in Boston, especially if you enjoy Japanese-style drinks and a thoughtfully designed space.

We weren't sure how to enter, so we started in the bookstore and found their convenient elevator downstairs! The restaurant is tiny but cozy, which is the perfect atmosphere for a book store! We sat outside in the little courtyard and it's a mix of magical and relaxing! There were only a few tables, so it wasn't overcrowded and with nice weather, it was perfect. I had a salad with salmon on the side which was delicious - and the ginger lemonade - wonderful! From buttered noodles to seafood, everything was executed well. The staff didn't rush us even though they were busy - and they had to give really long wait times to a number of others, but we still weren't rushed. I would highly recommend reservations, but even without we were treated very well. Pricing was in line with city pricing - and the food was extremely high quality and produce was lovely - not a shriveled lettuce leaf in sight. We walked into a building with the kind of architectural character that chain bookstores cannot manufacture, with small rooms opening into each other across multiple floors, wallpapered walls, and reading nooks distributed throughout that invite you to slow down rather than move through quickly. The book selection is well curated with staff recommendation cards on the shelves that actually reflect genuine enthusiasm rather than perfunctory notes. We saw limited edition hardcovers and local and regional titles appearing alongside the broader fiction and nonfiction selection. Browsing felt productive rather than overwhelming because the curation kept things focused. The kids section upstairs is one of the more delightful in Boston, with a train running along a track near the ceiling that tends to make a strong impression on younger visitors. There is also an art print vending machine on the second floor that draws its own audience of visitors looking for something small and specific to take home. The cafe occupies the lower level and operates as a separate experience from the bookshop above. We ordered the oat milk cappuccino with Vermont maple syrup, which was worth it. The morning glory scone and the popovers are two other items to consider. The cafe is tiny, around eight tables inside with a small patio, and reservations are recommended for breakfast and afternoon tea service. Pricing at the cafe is on the higher end, and certain fixed price service formats on specific dates push it considerably further, so checking current pricing before booking is worth doing. For a bookshop that doubles as a destination in its own right, Beacon Hill Books and Cafe delivers a cozy, curated experience that rewards lingering. It is the kind of place we would return to just to sit and read with a good coffee.
