We got there on a Friday night around 8. It's busy. Had 10 people waiting before us. We decided to wait a bit to see. Took only about 15 minutes and we got a stall. So not bad. They do last call for bucket refills an 30 minutes before closing time at 10. They completely close gates of parking lot around 10:30. Guy who worked there looked like he wished he made better life choices. I understand too cause he was the only worker there, looked like. Other than that. This place is really fun. It's BYOB too.

I've never played the course, so please note this is a review for the food and driving range only. Haven't been to a driving range in a long time, so the prices and the process of getting a spot really surprised me, but it sure wasn't hard to learn. Man, remember when a full bucket of balls was only $3? Those were the days lol The space is open and with the mountains can bring in a nice breeze. I mostly go at night since there's not much shade so that it's nice a cool, although there is also risk of rain, but that's okay because I live in Hawaii! There's just something relaxing about the whole vibe of the driving range. I was sandwiched between a family that definitely took golfing a little more serious than the guys on the other side of us casually drinking soju and enjoying a weekend night with the guys hitting balls. I also appreciate the food here! Makes sense to offer local plates, although I do with the drink selection was bigger (pepsi fountain drinks) since it is a big outdoor environment. Family came here to celebrate our grandmas birthday so it was a simple plate lunch and driving range family day, nothing big, and nothing disappointing.

This is where you purchase your ticket to get the range ball

Located in Aiea, this is a stand alone driving range, no golf course attached. They have their own parking lot. There is roof over the chairs, but where you hit the ball has no roof and it can be very hot in the afternoon. However, if you go too late in the evening, most likely the range will be full and you will have to wait. There is a restaurant with sitting area, you can eat and drink, pretty good. There is also a small golf shop. The way it works is you go to the office, pay for the balls and you will get a basket and the ticket, go to the machine, input the code and you get you ball, each basket has a number in it, that is the stall you go hit your ball. The good thing about this system is there is no one waiting at you back, you can keep purchasing balls and hit for 5 hours, there is no time limit. , they do have a last call announcement to buy balls at around 9pm or 9:30pm depends on the days. Over all, it was a fun evening for me and my co-workers to go hit ball. Recommended.

Such a fun family place. It does get busy around 6ish so prepare to wait. But there is a dining area so you can order food while you wait. There is a lot of parking.

Very nice range. Open later than most and have bright lights so you can see where your ball is going. Stalls are assigned but when it's not busy you usually can choose. They prefer those who are good/don't slice to be at the stalls near the road which makes sense. Other than it being very busy at nights, the range is solid.

Relatively expensive for a full bucket, $14! It used to be under $10 for a full bucket. Other driving ranges down the road.

Always has good range balls and they are open at night. Mats are in great condition and they have fun targets to try and hit.

Ask the Community - Newtown Golf Driving Range

What is the name of the restaurant at Newtown Driving Range?

I think it's called New Town Cafe. It was called Newtown Asian Grindz.

Are you able to rent clubs now?

Unfortunately they don't do club rentals

Are they still open for business? How much does it cost to rent the clubs and balls? Sorry this is my first time ever going to a golfing range

Yes, the range is open and it is $14 for a full basket and $8 for a half basket. They don't do club rentals at the moment.

Does anyone know if they reopened, i have seen updates to the hours and tried calling but no answer?

    Reopening July 2nd! New owners

    Is this place closed now?

I believe only temporarily, due to COVID.

    Do they rent clubs?

Yes they do. Prices will vary.

Is there paid parking or is it open to all the people who frequent this business?

Open to all the people who frequent this business :)

Never thought I'd enjoy virtual golf as much as I do now…read more Last year, I signed up for a membership because I used to go to the driving range 2-3 times a week and play on the course every other week. With how much driving range prices have increased over the years, the membership has actually helped me save money each month. Being able to play 18 holes twice a week on the simulator alone makes it worth every penny. The Golfzon simulator is also the best one I've tried compared to other sims. One feature I really enjoy is being able to track my stats and review my swing analysis videos directly in the Golfzon app on my phone -- something I can't get at a regular driving range. I also enjoy the flexibility of having private late-night sessions after a long day at work. It's a great alternative to the gym and a fun way to switch things up. Bringing friends to play in the virtual league has been a blast too. On top of that, the owner, Anant, is very welcoming and accommodating. The members I've met are all different skill levels, and everyone has been super friendly and cool. This is definitely the golfing community I've been looking for.

I love that you get the whole place to yourself, the room is huge and there's a lot of things to do aside from the simulator itself. Kahi is an easygoing guy and made everything simple to understand when teaching us about how to use the simulator. We liked it so much that we signed up for membership that day. We're here maybe like once a week. It's also kid friendly! We have a 1 and 4 yr old that we bring sometimes. We always book the 2hr reservation and that gets us through an 18hole course (2 players) and time for driving range or parts of another course after. They also have an app connected with the simulator that records your swing and gives you feedback on it. It records your scores on the courses too. Booking is also super easy! Communication with the owners is also really good, they respond pretty quickly. So far they've done an outstanding job. If you love to golf, but can't go out to the courses all the time then a membership here or even just visiting here to try it out is definitely a must!

On the day I went, they didn't have French fries as an option that is listed on the menu. If I recall, that was the case several months ago when I went there. But not to be at all disappointed when I was given a really delicious mixed green salad with fresh strawberry slices and craisins with a very yummy salad dressing. It was the more nutritious choice, so even though it was my plan B, it'll be my plan A option next time! Back to my entree. I had the loco moco. It came with a generous hand-made burger with brown gravy and a scoop of brown/white rice. The sunny side egg was perfectly cooked. I had some of the fish sandwich too. It was just as delicious as the last 2 times I got it. The fish was a thick slice that was lightly egg battered. The brioch bun was so soft and tasty. I loved that there was tomato and lettuce on it. A deluxe fish sandwich! I really like it! They were setting up for a private event with cloth covered chairs. Maybe a good idea to look into that for a future event. The restaurant is set up with a few chairs, a side room that was set up with long tables with chairs, and there's a bar with several bar stools. I've not ever seen the bar empty. Next time you're in the Moanalua Valley area, check it out!
