I was greeted with open arms as the owner, Blenlly, remembered when I visited the original location uptown. Their food is tasty and reasonably priced for being 100% vegan. There are so many veganized options of traditional Dominican dishes, I cant wait to go back. They have smaller snacks such as empanadas, tostones, chips and guac, all the way to salads, bowls, burritos, burgers, and plates. You wont be disappointed in any of their items. We came on a super rainy day. It was pretty empty but clean. Had Spanish music playing. Empanadas we're ready to eat and the best one to me was the Mac & cheese one with the red sauce. We also had the empanada of the day which was lentil and potato. It was ok and we had the beef cheese and plantain one, it was also just ok too. We had the Mofongo Classico. 10/10. Delicious. Would go back just for this. We had the Philly cheesesteak. It was ok to me but my husband loved it and we had the sweet and spicy oyster sandwich was good. I have enjoyed several lunches at this fast casual place in Downtown Brooklyn, but the experiences of my companions have been a bit hit or miss. The jackfruit BBQ is excellent, as are the plantains. A friend enjoyed the Philly cheesesteak, but found it difficult to eat; another had a long wait for the chickpea tuna, which she didn't particularly like once it finally arrived. The biggest problem we've experienced is that orders come out a bit erratically, so one person might have food while the rest of the table waits. However, this is a relatively new business, so I think that will resolve over time. read more

I hope this review helps potential customers make a decision in dining elsewhere. I stood waiting several minutes before being acknowledged by any of the staff. I was seated at a table that was not cleaned, and had to ask the guy multiple times to please clean the table off because there was food and debris left on it. I ordered the clasico, a "mac beif" empanada and a lemonade. The server forgot to bring the empanada as an appetizer and only brought it after the entree was brought out. The server never came to check on me or ask how the food was. In fact, the owner of the restaurant walked around greeting customers and asking how their experience was; she looked at me and said nothing, she did not even acknowledge me. I've eaten here before and she was like this even then, so I'm not sure what her issue is. As I was eating, there was a strand of hair in my food. I went to the register and explained to the server that there was a hair in my food. He asked me to bring him the strand of hair. I said he could go check the plate himself, and that I wanted the check so I could leave. He got the manager, the same woman who ignored me, and she looked at me and said, yes? Again, no greeting. The server explained the situation to her and she said to me, "Did you tell the server this?" I told her that I had to get up and tell him because no one ever came to check on me the entire time I was seated. I asked her why she did not greet me the same way she did her other customers (who were not people of color) and she said, "I must have not seen you." It's a small restaurant and she around me to greet another customer. She refunded the plate of food with the hair in it. So unfortunate when you try to support a Latin-owned business only for the business owner to treat Afro-Latine customers like they do not exist. I give an A for the authentic anti-Black-discriminatory feel one would get back in Latin America! Never returning to this place. read more

My Name is David Holley. I would like to start off by saying there isn't many Fully Vegan Latin restaurants in nyc so when I found them I was very excited to try them out. I am a Brooklynite so ofcourse I choose to visit the Brooklyn location located at 88 Livingston Street. As I was overlooking the menu I recognized the owner whom I've seen on the Resturants Instagram page. Her energy was very pleasant and upbeat. She took the time to explain to me what ingredients were used in items that I was considering to order and also recommend a few items. As I waited for my food to to be done my conversation with the owner and also the woman at the register was filled with Laughter, respect and overall good energy. When my food came out I couldn't wait to dive into it. I ordered the "Twisted Burrito" (grilled mushrooms, Mac and Cheese, Vegan beef, Pico de Gallo and Avocado) and Empanadas (Filled with Sweet Plantains, Cheese and Vegan beef". Oh My God the food was so good. Very Flavorful and Hot right off of the grill. I Literally ate and danced in my seat. The woman who served me checked in on me a few times to make sure the food was to my liking and if I needed any sauces or napkins. My overall experience was so good that I asked the staff could we all take a picture which they gladly agreed to. I told them I would post it to my Instagram which I did. I can only speak for my experience, and mines was worthy of 5 Stars. Next Stop Vegan also has cool Merch Like (Vegan Themed T-Shirts) that is a must buy. I will absolutely be a return customer. The cons: it is a bit pricey for value (e.g. several items come with no condiments unless you buy), but my main complaint is the menu: the bulk is latino (and burgers) which IMO is easy enough in an omni place. I was hoping for cold sandwiches, "fish" and chips, or things I don't normally eat at home.
