Google maps told me this was the second closest UC, the 1st closest UC was Banner and they didn't even answer the phone. This place answered the phone and I asked if I could be seen without a wait for my laceration and she said Absolutely, there's no wait. Arrived and filled out tablet, waited maybe 3 min and was taken back. Kia or Kya was a sweet kind lady that was so gentle with my wounds. She cleaned them as thorough as anyone can and then the PA or NP saw me very soon after. Unfortunately they said their x-ray machine was broken and they didn't have enough glue (that's a huge bummer for an urgent Care) and had to refer to the nearest hospital. That was the biggest disappointment but the time they did spend with me was positive.

It ended up lasting for two weeks and I had to go get drops somewhere else which is what I needed from the get go. Then, about two months later I receive a bill in the mail for $80. I paid my copay there and verified they were in net work and, received no extra exams or anything and they billed my insurance $268. I called the billing department and tried to get a breakdown but it never went anywhere and I just had to pay the bill. Could be a great place but will never go back due to the billing issues.

Use this as a massive warning! (And I am seeing others comment in these reviews similarly.) Circumstance 1: I went in to the Urgent Care for a UTI and was charged, using insurance, $812.00 just for a dip stick urine test and under a 2 minute doctor consultation to write me an RX. My insurance paid $7.37 total because they said that is the cost of a test. That makes sense. So what is left is costing me over $400 a minute for help for face to face care with a doctor. Circumstance 2: I went to the same Urgent Care (didn't have the bill for the previous one, otherwise I would not have gone) for bronchitis and a sinus infection. Again, heart rate, bp, and a stethoscope to my chest was all that was done, in addition to the prescription to take to a local pharmacy (no xrays or anything like that). This one was charged $528...so over $150 per minute to be face to face with a doctor. Both times I went, I was the ONLY patient in the waiting room (and didn't see one in the main part of the rooms). It's not like I was at a high peak time even. Why weren't others there...probably because they have read so many poor reviews unlike I did. I was telling this with a friend of mine and she told me that this happened to her as well (same location for an ear infection), resulting in an outlandish bill, so I am not the only person that this has happened to. I have called many times to get them to recode/adjust trying to dispute it even asking for the self payout, and they are not budging.They are standing behind their stomach-dropping fees. I will also say, I have gone to this location other times in past years for the same issues and never received such outlandish bills. It's as if they are treating this like an emergency room (and with my multiple phone calls the billing department employees keeps saying "ER"). I have driven by the place to make sure it didn't change to an ER and I mistakenly didn't notice, but the sign on the building (and the website) says Urgent Care. I am NOT trying to get out of paying for my services, but I will stand up for what is "right" and announce to many what a horrible company they have become. Seems like the only thing I can do is leave a bad review, notify the news company, file a complaint with the department of health, in addition to my insurance company (Blue Cross) knowing. Price gouging at its finest. Very deceiving business practice. Please go anywhere but here! Never, ever again will I use them! (Look at the slew of Google reviews on this place. Based on this, I arranged childcare and planned my day accordingly. When I arrived, I was told the bloodwork had not been ordered and that the office preferred to wait until after the appointment in case additional labs were needed, to avoid a second trip. This was the opposite of what I had been told on the phone and ultimately resulted in the additional trip I was trying to avoid. Had I been told it was simply an oversight, I would have understood. Instead, it was framed as being for my convenience, despite the prior instructions I had received. I cancelled my appointment and will be looking for a new PCP. I hope the office can improve communication so patients receive consistent and accurate information. Edited to add: I am an established patient with this office. While it had been a few years since my last visit, I had previously been seen here and the office assisted me with updating my name. I wanted to clarify this because the response from the office suggests otherwise.

I had to return yesterday and the nurse practitioner Kristin was so kind and listened to my concerns and really showed great quality of care. Sicily is a wonderful medical assistant. I am happy with my general practioner that isn't associated with Gateway, but Kristin properly diagnosed me with bronchitis. My general practioner diagnosed me with pneumonia, but Kristin wondered why my general practitioner never did a chest xray before diagnosing me with pneumonia. Yesterday, Kristin gave me a chest X-ray and breathing treatment as well as prescribing me meds for my horrible cough. I will definitely return to Gateway in the future for my medical needs.

They are caring, they listen to their patients, and then gives you the facts of whatever it is that you are experiencing and the treatment and follow up. I have had no issues with getting ahold of the office. The office staff is welcoming and friendly. I have highly recommended them to anyone who is/was looking for a place to go. I lived in Mesa when I started going to Caring for Families, then moved to Laveen where I have been since 2013, and still go. The mileage and extra time it takes to get there is over the top worth it.

Sent me for an xray (nothing found) then recommended a MRI. MRI came back and I completely tore my ACL. I'll never come back here again, there was so sense of urgency with my injury which just prolonged my pain.

But most of all I was so impressed with the young pediatric surgeons who came into the waiting room to deliver Post surgical information to parents. All three that I observed were kind, thorough, friendly & professional. iIt was really joyful to see. My friend's son did real well with his procedure. I had a chance to talk to a number of young parents in the waiting room. All in all it was a very pleasant experience considering the seriousness of sick kids and tense parents!

They are my immediate "go to" for an after hours/urgent baby/child specific issue. We live about a mile from a general urgent care- but don't take my kids there. I never have to worry that they (pch) don't have the right size instruments/products for some of the smaller sized kiddos that I have brought in. Not to mention the knowledge with all the odd injuries kids can get or tiny tiny infants with respiratory issues that need specialized care. Also nice when you don't have to take an infant into a busy emergency room or general urgent care-too many germs. Also handy when you can make an appointment and do all the paperwork before arrival but if unable to make an appointment they will squeeze you in. The front office staff is nice and great with kids. I have loved all the nurses, PA's and MD's I have seen at this location- no issues with any of them for any of my kids visits. All friendly, supportive and helpful
