Decided last week it was time to upgrade the car... and there were some features I was not willing to live without. Worked with Arthur and told him everything I wanted and what I was willing to pay. He quickly gave me some suggestions and options that helped me determine which make/model would be best. After I decided what was the right car for me, he gave me all the details and in less than 24 hours had the car delivered to my doorstep. He even conspired with my fiancée to have it delivered with a bow! I was looking for a low mileage used Honda. Finally bought from Nexus. Pros: Worked with Arthur - I guess he is the only sales person. Nice guy. Helped me going out of the way. Since I live couple of hours away from the dealership, he offered to take the car for the inspection and also picked me up from the train station. Mailed the registration within a week. Pricing is competitive. Has some room to negotiate. But I wouldn't say this is the best deal that I could get. There are similar CERTIFIED cars with competitive prices. For a non certified car, price may be about $500 more compared to other market values, (I did lot of research for 2 months before buying this), plus I had to pay for a pre-purchase inspection as it is not certified. However, since this car had my favorite color combination (exterior and interior), I went ahead with the purchase. Overall, pricing is not bad. Cons: During the inspection at the Honda dealer, they reported the battery need to be replaced. But the owner of Nexus refused to replace the battery. I explained even if they don't replace that I will buy the car as it is not that expensive to buy a new battery. I would expect the dealer to spend $100 and replace the battery as a goodwill gesture. That's the difference between an excellent dealer and average dealer. I can imagine if the dealer refuses to replace the tires (all tires were half worn out) as it is expensive and of course I am buying a used car. Also unlike other dealerships, they will not fill up the tank before giving the car to you (of course Arthur filled in about three quarter and they washed the car which I appreciate). But in my opinion, these little things make a big difference. In my opinion, once they know you are buying the car, they try to save every penny. Did not allow me to drive the car to my mechanic (45 miles away) to get the inspection done (which could be free for me). They wanted to do the inspection locally which was not the best option for me. Other car dealers I visited had no issues with taking to a mechanic of my choice after signing a conditional contract. The owner was not very friendly at the beginning until I was committed. May be he thought I am not serious or may be judged by the way I am dressed :-)... as I don't dress very neatly :-). But I would be more comfortable if I walk to a more friendly environment (But Arthur was friendly and accommodating). Short dealership hours and closed on Sundays. Not very convenient for customers. read more
