Today, Dave Reyes from Nexus Solar came to our door despite a clearly posted "No Soliciting" sign. That's not just inconsiderate -- it's also a violation of Sunnyvale Municipal Code. Per Sunnyvale Municipal Code § 5.38.050, "It is unlawful for any solicitor to ring the doorbell or knock on the door of any residence that has a sign posted stating 'No Soliciting' or similar wording." Dave ignored this entirely and proceeded to pressure us about changing our solar system -- something we never invited or expressed interest in. That's a direct violation of city law and a clear breach of basic respect for residents' privacy. If this is how Nexus Solar operates -- disregarding city ordinances and harassing people at their homes -- I'd strongly recommend staying far away. If they can't respect your doorstep, why would you trust them with your roof? Shame on Nexus Solar. read more

Aggressive sales with lots of promises, but forget about any after sales service for warranty repairs after the initial installation is done. They didn't hook up monitoring properly, and after causing some roof leaks & poorly wiring the installation, I have to reset my breakers after it rains. You can't even get a hold of your original team after the install & get put into a generic "service request" queue online if you have a problem, and the only people you hear from is by text and they promise to setup service but never do... RUN, don't walk away from these guys! read more

They didnt do a good job of cleaning up after they finished their job. The cement that they paved was uneven. We tried contacting them to come and take a look and maybe fix it. This was one of the worst companies I've ever engaged. They sent people to my home who couldn't communicate or explain the equipment to me which was the first red flag. The installation of the equipment was not professional and looks uneven, which is frankly the least of the problems because it doesn't work either. My main goal in installing new solar panels was to connect to a solar powered battery backup in case of a power outage. Luckily, no less than a week after the installation there was a power outage which allowed me to see how worthless their product is. This system was supposed to automatically kick in and give us reserve power, but upon having this outage, nothing. This 30k product did nothing. They stated they would have a technician out today to fix this brand new product and again, nothing. Nobody is coming out and when I call my contact it goes straight to voicemail. It feels like I've been scammed and I would recommend people stay far away from this company. The people running the show here are either grifters or have the IQ of a potato. In either case, you can do better elsewhere. read more

We had such a wonderful experience with Nexus Energy Systems. They did some work on our solar addition in Northern California. The crew came up to the North Bay from San Jose. The lead technician, Jose, was very professional in the installation of our new main panel and solar panel hook up. He also took the time to explain what he was going to do and how the system would work in tandem with our existing solar system. The last person from Nexus that came out for our final permit inspection even painted the stucco area that was renewed around the new panel installation. I would give 0 star if I could. Worst company ever!! Their customer service is so bad never response after I tried so contact their company many times by phone and email also text messages. My solar panel stopped working last year for 6 month, I tried to contact their customer and I was told no need to worry just wait for the the annual bill by end of the year, but my annual edison bill I had to pay extra 2k, i have contacted their company so many time still not received response or any solution. I thought we were over the whole Solar company scam thing but we aren't. Nexus and their in house sales force Sunternal is making sure we're never gonna see the light at the end of the tunnel. The sales guy promised us $13k in tax rebates. He clearly said you will get $10k from the feds and $3k from the state. And said you can use the fed money to pay your loan to keep your payments at X rate, then use the state money to get an even lower rate when you do ACH or automatic withdrawals. Cool. Except that was a lie. You have to owe taxes to benefit from the solar tax rebates. This guy had all my information and knew we weren't gonna get a rebate. Shame on you Patrick Digiacomo. Then the Nexus kid comes out to look at our roof and measure and make sure it's structurally sound etc. Except he didn't have his own ladder. What kind of a company that needs to put stuff on roofs doesn't send their representatives with a ladder. It took so long from the day we signed the contract that I had an adjuster come out to look at my roof. From the street he could tell it needed to be replaced and as soon as he got on the roof he knew right away that it was in need of replacing. I got a new roof before Nexus called to schedule an install date. By the way the Nexus surveyor or whatever his title was said our roof was perfect, ha. Installation goes fine. In fact that was the only good part. It only took a day and the electrician was very helpful in helping me to understand how the system would work. Since no one at Nexus offered to explain it. I had to reach out to Nexus to get any pertinent information regarding the install. I tried reaching out to Patrick to no Avail. We finally got to turn our system on on December 21st, 2022 the shortest day of the year. Yay! Now we wanted to go Solar to own our own electric production and not deal with PNM or the potential rolling brown outs we might see this coming summer. We wanted to use the Enphase app to see how much power we use and how much we produce. Except I didn't get a system with Consumption CTs or current transformers. They cost $50 from Enphase but Nexus graciously offered to install them for $500. Thanks. Why weren't they offered in the first place. $500 on top of the $40k I spent for the system would've been easier to swallow than being told a $50 part that takes 30 minutes tops to install ( per Enphase customer support) was going to cost $500! I don't even want to talk or think about how much money went directly to Nexus or Sunternal after I priced out the system and without labor got a cost well below half of what I paid. I've talked to my neighbors that got solar installed and were fed the same line about the rebates and I've talked with other Solar customers that might've been afraid or ashamed to speak up. I am currently working on a complaint with the state AG Raul Torrez and a complaint with the FTC. I've tentatively reached out to local law firms specializing in renewable energy like Sutin, Thayer and Brown because this predatory solar scam needs to stop. read more

Went through https://dronequote.net/ for advise on solar. Sinuhe is awesome with honest advise on what is really needed for solar to work properly for intended needs. Came down to 3 solar companies that would fit our needs and decided to go with Nexus, they are local and had what we were looking for with solar. Install went relatively smooth, wish the gentleman checking site before setup would have requested I clean a path for workers inside the garage. Unfortunately made it tough on them and a mess for me. Next obstacle was getting fired up, communication from Nexus to PG&E was non existent and took a few calls and emails from us to get the ball rolling. Finally were up and running with solar and a few months later the rain hits hard. Had a leak in the garage from the roof and that one took a bit of work to get Nexus out to inspect and resolve before the next rain. First repair didn't work but it's not easy to find a issue when it's not happening. Second round the tech got it sealed till the next rain and now another leak in different spot. Tech returns and finds it's a issue with the roofing company, Quality First, they didn't drive nails or staples all the way down so they were protruding up and when walked on was tearing the tiles. This turned out to not be a problem caused by Nexus but they were Awesome and had the tech repair the issues at no charge to us. Since then the system has bee working absolutely Wonderfully, Nexus does take care of the customers, the issues we had were nothing more than possibly normal. Whenever you're having installs or upgrades there is always the possibility for issues to occur, this happens in any field, but it's how you're issues are handled. I feel Nexus handled our issues as best they could and even went beyond and did repairs that they were not responsible for. Our system has been up and running since September 5th 2022. read more

Nexus hides behind a predatory sales team here in New Mexico under the name of Sunternal. Honestly your better off buying and installing a system yourself than to deal with their "customer support". Pay an electrician a fraction of what you'd pay Nexus for better work. At least when it breaks or doesn't perform the way it should you only have yourself to blame. I do not recommend using this company. I got screwed over big time! I told them I only wanted to get solar panels if I had batteries to become self sufficient. They promised me them. I'm being charged $45,000 for half a system! It's not even enough to fully power my home. And I don't have batteries! They would be an additional $100,000!! so now I'm going to be stuck paying over $300 a month for my solar panels and what ever is left on the electric company bill. very untrustworthy full of lies. Seek out another company and make sure you don't listen to the lies. I'm so upset. Now I'm in a worse boat then when I started my journey to set my family up for the future if the world looses power. Worst solar company you can use. Installed my 32 panel system without issue. Then had an issue with my system for two months where it was not producing energy during the summer months. Could not get ahold of anyone to come out and look at the system. Company will not reimburse any of the $2000 Edison bill I got hit with. Don't make the mistake of using this company. They did a great job. They were quick to install and they helped us handle all the city paper work. When you file taxes after getting the solar panels installed I recommend going with their cpa. Other cpas did not know how to handle the tax rebate to properly get all the tax benefits including add on the solar panel as depreciation for your following years. read more

We had a bumpy road due to some miscommunications, but i do have to give them 5 stars because of the quality of their customer service. They did do a very quick install and switching over to solar was pretty seamless, I had some complaints due to some misunderstandings and our broker Chad from 1st Class Solar was amazing. he came to meet me personally on a Friday night and thoughroly addressed all my concerns. the end result is that we are very pleased with our solar and the brokers involved *UPDATE* We just sold our home and I have to say Nexus has been AMAZING. HOWEVER, The broker we had AND the company that does the monitoring were NO help what so ever. We had a ton of questions about what to do and our Broker from First Class Solar NEVER returned ANY calls or texts, AND the company that does the monitor, Enlighten/Enphase is a JOKE. They were very RUDE to me and then they told me it would be a fee of $399 to switch monitoring over to the new owners, even though the solar is paid off in full. Thank goodness the solar already comes with a warranty thru Nexus that is fully transferable and free. Enphase wants to rob you of your money for a separate warranty. If they give you that much problem when you reach out to their customer service I can't imagine the fight or headache they will give you if you need warranty work from them. read more

I met nexus 2 years ago when no one wants to put solar panel on my roof because it was rock roof. Nexus knows just how much panels I needed for my electricity consumption. We had been considering solar for quite a while and finally decided to take the leap. We went with Bay Sun Solar because of their excellent reviews, warranty and the fact that the company has been in business for so long. The installers were on time, friendly and efficient. They did accidentally damage a screen on one of our windows but had it replaced and back to new within a couple hours. We are excited to now be producing our own power! This company installed a solar array on my roof last April. The installation itself went well except for them starting to install chinese solar panels instead of the Canadian solar panels that had been agreed on. After I pointed it out, they got the correct ones and replaced the ones they had already put in place and finished with the correct ones. The problems arose after the installation when it took almost 4 months to get approval to operate from PGE. Turns out the application was not even submitted until the end of May. The system had been installed in the first part of April. Finally got the Permission to Operate from the utility company at the end of July. The winter before the install was a very wet one in this area. My shop roof did not leak. After the install happened on my Metal roof, there are several leaks. They have been here twice to try to fix them and have been ineffectual. I contacted them again 2 weeks ago about the ongoing leaks and I haven't heard back about the problem or how they intend to fix it. I know they received it because I had an ongoing text conversation with my usual contact there, he said he was sending someone the next day. I waited all morning still texting back and forth, (the person was supposed to be here around 8:00 am ) nobody ever showed up. He thought he was texting some other customer. He said he would turn it over to the Warantee Dept. I haven't heard a word since. In my experience, get all your problems addressed to your satisfaction before making your final payment. 8/16/18 I am adding this note because Nexus did end up sending two of their people out to fix the badly installed arrays on my metal roof. It hasn't rained yet but I am fairly confident their work will solve the leak problem. As one of the other reviewers said, there were some miscommunication problems. They seemed to be between the originator of the solar contract, Tesla Energy, and the actual solar company which was Nexus. Unfortunately I was stuck in the middle while it was being sorted out. read more

I can't say enough good about this company. I tend to criticize in private and praise in public, but without being hyperbolic, I'll say that Nexus was the absolutely the best! First of all, when I was researching solar companies, I was aware that of course, everyone with whom you speak has an ax to grind and a product to sell. Nexus was transparent about this. Their sales rep (Colin) asked me many questions about energy-efficient appliances, insulation, double-paned windows, the use of medical equipment, etc. He tried to impress upon me that there were ways to save energy costs before considering solar. He was discreet about inquiring whether or not I qualified for an energy company's low income rates. There was no song-and-dance, nor "hard sell." I was suspicious about how solar companies determined how many solar panels I would need, and this process was explained clearly. I could have figured it out myself if I had Nexus' software. There was no mystery. When I "pulled the trigger" and decided I wanted solar, there was clear communication for 99.999% of the process. The installers were consummate professionals who must have bladders the size of China. I asked if they didn't need to use the bathroom, etc. and they had obviously been trained to go out for lunch and use the bathroom in a fast-food restaurant or gas station. There was one glitch regarding the inspection, and since this occurred right before a holiday weekend, I was caught unawares by the young man who was sent to complete the process the following week. Luckily, I was home. But I understood the ball being dropped--on the last day of the installation/inspection, someone HAD called me to ask if all was well, and if I had any questions. When I reported "all was well," no doubt she crossed me off her "to-do" list. it was after this call that I found out that the inspection had not been completed. Fortunately it all worked out. After Nexus got my money (I paid up front) they continued to be accessible, which to me is a hallmark of customer service. I was walked through the website and the app, the importance of monitoring the system was made clear to me, and I was told what to look for and how to trouble-shoot. When I called my liability insurance company to ask them about covering my system, the agent had some questions that I could not answer. I texted Colin as I was speaking on the phone, and he responded IMMEDIATELY to my concerns. He was able to access my system's information and answered all of my questions within seconds. I was certain I would stay in my home for a long time. I was interested in buying a system for the write-off and to be able to save money on energy costs over the next several years. I found Nexus by the luck of the draw, but I would recommend them to anyone about whom I cared. Go for it! read more

I am glad to be doing this update and would like to make this as short and sweet as possible because, that's exactly what the experience with the owner of this company ended up being, "short and sweet". He called me and just said basically, "i understand you are not happy with our service and if that is the case, than, neither am i, at that moment, i exhaled. He stated he has been in business to long and one of the reasons for that is, he don't walk away from unhappy customers, and wanted me to explain my concerns to him and give him the opportunity to address it and so i did. it was like, 1, 2, 3 problem solved, as i said, short and sweet. i had a unique situation which needed special attention. the same day he was on the phone with me he pin pointed the problem errors, sent someone to my house right away. he looked at my situation as an learning experience and committed to addresses this with his employees in the form of training. he also looked at my utility cost for the first 6 mo of the installation and felt, i was do some monetary compensation and had that issued and in the mail the same day. things are never perfect, it's how it's addressed that matters. so my fellow consumers, i have made your job easy and have taken the guess work out of who to use as your solar provider, NEXUS ENERGY IS THE GO TO FOR SOLAR. read more
