Egg, ham and cheese on a toasted plain bagel. With a medium coffee.

Great place for breakfast or lunch. Bagels, bagel sandwiches, wraps, sandwiches, soups, great sides, coffee and good selection of drinks! Never had a bad meal here. Personal favorite is "The Grinch" on a wrap for lunch!! Coffee is always really good too!

Best bagel / breakfast sandwich I've had in my life outside of Brooklyn. I got the harpur on everything and I can't use a clean word to describe it. 10/10 a MUST EAT! Drive an hour for it if you must.

Maggie's Farm Wrap, Piña Colada Smoothie, & Brownie

I came here with my dad today for the first time since I was very young. We both really enjoyed it and I anticipate we'll be adding this to our regular rotation of lunch spots. The man who helped us was great, he was very professional and friendly without coming off as aggressively cheerful, and he was patient while we took our time deciding what to get from their large menu. Lots of vegetarian choices! Food and drink were very tasty - I got their Maggie's Farm wrap, a piña colada smoothie, and a brownie. Veggies in the wrap were fresh and the tomato pesto was very flavourful. Brownie was super fudgy with a slightly crispy edge which is just how I like them. The smoothie I almost held back on getting but ended up giving into the temptation and didn't regret it. Strong but not overly sweet fruit flavour. I think my wrap would have been a little on the small side if I'd gotten it by itself, but it was the perfect size to enjoy with a smoothie and dessert. My dad got the Foghorn sandwich and a chocolate chip cookie bar and loved both.

The food is good, though a little pricey for what you're getting. But the service definitely needs to improve before I go back.

Great food but on multiple occasions I have seen one member of the staff being extremely rude to customers and that is a turnoff for me.

Extra charge for mustard?? Really?? Yup! Screw that. Decent place but that is a deal breaker. How much is salt and pepper?

The menu, of course, also has "Carol's Favorite 'Comfort Food' Sandwiches" on the menu, all named after famous artists. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I'm a huge Van Gogh fan, so I ordered the "Van Gogh" sandwich that comes with oven roasted turkey breast layered on sourdough bread and lettuce, tomato, and mayo. The sandwich was good, but I have to say that proportions of the ingredients felt a bit off. I also noticed during the prep of my plate that the chips came from opening a bag (a bulk version similar to ripple chips you'd just buy at the store). In a cafe space like this, you can't necessarily expect people to be making everything from scratch... but I think it's just helpful to note to keep expectations in line. The drink that I ordered was made well (their beverage selection is at the very back of the menu). You can definitely tell that this is a community space, and it seemed like a number of locals filtered in throughout the lunch. There are notes on the tables that advise of a 90 minute limit for sitting at the table (not something I've ever actually seen before), and there's wifi available for use by customers. Perhaps an awkward experience was just related to the overall service? You grab a menu and choose your table if you're dining in, but you end up paying at the counter. Personally, if I'm going to sit down to eat then I'd prefer to have the check brought to the table and pay that way. The space is a bit cramped by the counter, so it seems like it'd benefit to minimize the foot traffic that has to wait there. And perhaps this is silly, but upon paying for the lunch, the server handed me my receipt and said "Just sign here", and then seemed to be somewhat... abrupt? I feel like I'm pretty low maintenance when dining out, but it just left me going "OH. Okay. Time for me to get out of the way" (it's worth noting that at the time, there was nobody waiting around, or to get to, the counter). Still, it was enjoyable to stop at Carol's Coffee & Art Bar. It's a more unique space with nice offerings.

It was around 5:30pm on a Saturday and luckily there were plenty of tables still available. We started with the Buffalo Brussels Sprouts which I absolutely loved! These are some of the best Brussels sprouts I've had at a restaurant. The buffalo sauce was light and not overpowering and even the blue cheese dipping sauce (which I'm usually not a fan of) was pretty mild and paired well with the Brussels sprouts. A great start! We then shared the Large Rigatoni a la Vodka and added Meatballs to it. The Large is definitely enough for 2 people. The Rigatoni was cooked well and the vodka sauce was well balanced with the cream, tomatoes, garlic, and cheese. It wasn't anything spectacular but it hit the spot! My only complaint was for ~$6, I expected the meatballs to be larger than they were. The Meatballs had good flavor but for such a large bowl of pasta, it barely makes a difference. And those 3 meatballs should be $1 each at most, in my opinion. The Side Caesar Salad was a great pair with the pasta and for ~$3, very reasonably priced. All in all, worth stopping by if you're in town!
