I found this place recently, and there's nothing fancy about it, but I feel like its quite authentic. I'm going to Vietnam this December and I'll be able to confirm that once I've been. For now, I just have a hunch its "real". The people that run it are good people. The portion of food I got was massive. It was a rice with chicken, and pork, and a fried egg (added that on). It was big. I ate a bit too much that day.

I passed by this place many times and wanted to see if this place is good after seeing Yelp reviews. So I got BBH(spicy beef noodle) for $7.49 and it was the cheapest Pho I ever paid than anywhere else. Taste wise it tasted sour according to what the waitress told me and I found it kind of sweet too. It also tasted like msg and not the kind of soup I usually like though. Staff seemed nice, but she never checked up on my table. I didn't find this place to be impressive. I'd rather pay more and eat somewhere else better than here.

Small Beef noodle. Super bland. Beef overcooked. Tasted like socks.

Food: I got a small beef noodle. It was probably one of the worst noodles I have ever had. I did not even finish my bowl. The "rare" beef was so overdone and it tasted like smelly socks. Service: There was no service. She came to grab my order and disappeared. I had to look for her in order to pay for the bill. Nothing out of the ordinary for an Asian place. Atmosphere: The restaurant is not located in the greatest part of town but the inside is like most Viet places. The smell inside was the restaurant was the most off putting part of my experience here. The smell was that of a downtown east side skytrain station that stank of urine. It was so disgusting. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I will never enter this place again.

I will never ever go to this restaurant . I got a meatball pho. The broth tasted alright but the meatballs were horrible. The texture of the meatballs were rubbery and didn't even taste like meat . The colour was a bit whiteish . Price was a bit cheaper than other pho places but oh boy talk about bad food . I also got a lemonade, it was delicious . That's the only thing I would recommend. The service was good of the server/ cook . This place was completely dead at dinner time, I wonder why lol ???

Been meaning to try this place out and I'm finally here today! First time here and this place isn't exactly the most appealing from outside, but who cares. Because once you're inside the decor is beautiful with a sense of home. There are cute lanterns hung on the walls and they've got two TVs. A small asian lady greeted and seated me upon my arrival almost immediately. The place is empty but thats alright with me, its lunch time. My parents are Chinese but grew up in Vietnam during their childhood, so I pretty much grew up eating only Chinese and Vietnamese, or Chinese infused Vietnamese food (my mom is a mean cook!) and I was excited to see what was on their menu. I decided to order the shredded pork banh mi with the deep fried spring rolls, and a French filter coffee with condensed milk and ice. The food came rather quickly with some tea, though I think she misunderstood and thought I asked for the coffee to go, but thats alright. First few bites are yummy, the spring rolls especially delicious! I really like this place, and I hope it stays around for longer. I would love to see the place boomin and busy, and will tell all my friends about it. The server was sweet and super friendly and next time I come back, I'll try one of their pho bowls. Oh, and the coffee was damn good.

They also have a bar area. Kind of an Asian French fusion menu. Food dishes were good and creative, but it didn't really appeal to me. I appreciated the good service and chill atmosphere, but not sure if I would come back. I would say that their house made spicy was really good. A mix of sweet, sour, and spicy. Had a brightness to it yet also very, very spicy. Tastes great on many of the dishes, especially if you wanted a nice "kick" to the food. I believe you can order a jar to take home if you wish.

The space is much nicer, with high ceilings and lots of light - great looking bistro. I ended up trying the following: - Mussels: Very good. Classic dish, but I really like the use of cream in the broth. - Bánh Mì Cay Hải Phòng (Spicy Baguette Sticks): Good. A nice little snack, although it would be easy to recreate at home. - Lamb Chops: Very good. Cooked just right, and the pepper sauce added extra flavour. - Fried Frog Legs: Very good. This was probably the surprise dish for me. They weren't just the legs, but the entire bottom of the frog, so the pieces were huge. The garlic, butter and chili flakes gave it a extra punch. I really enjoyed this one. - Pho Bo: Good. Not the best pho I've had, but it's good enough to stand on it's own. Service was quite good. Very cheerful and quite attentive. Overall a nice meal. It's a great space, the food is solid, and service to match. What I really like is having the variety of both French and Vietnamese dishes, without either of them suffering in quality. Only downside is that is it expensive for what you get.

Went in for lunch with my granddaughter, both of us fans of Vietnamese food. Ordered Green Papaya Salad ($12), Lemongrass Chicken on Vermicelli with one spring roll ($17), one lime soda ($6.50) and one pop ($3). Food arrived within minutes of ordering. Portions were very generous. The salad was perfect with everything very fresh, as it should be but often isn't in some places. Plump prawns and the scent and taste of basil was prominent. Delicious! The lemongrass chicken (we ordered extra chicken) with a spring roll was also very generous. We did not finish it between the two of us. Again, all was fresh, tasty and hot. This is one of our standard orders and Pho Goodness did not disappoint. Granddaughter declared it better than at our regular favourite, and Pho Goodness is around the corner from her home and not a bus ride out to Kingsway! Service was friendly and responsive. We asked that the volume be turned off on the massive TV over our heads (which nobody was watching) (it was), requested a glass for the pop and immediately received a tumbler full of ice. Lovely. We have found a new favourite on Davie Street, a true foodie heaven with a collection of independent restaurants of many ethnicities available. We will return to Pho Goodness when the urge for Vietnamese food strikes again.

The Garden Rolls were absolutely the #1 worst ones we've ever eaten! We've had hundreds of fresh rolls at dozens of places and sadly, none were as tasteless as these. They consisted of noodles, a bit of flavorless tofu and cucumber. Fresh rolls MUST have at least one or more of the following: fresh mint, fresh cilantro or fresh Thai Basil. Hestia's had NONE!. To add insult to injury, the watery sauce also had NO flavor. To add more insult, they were baggy and poorly wrapped and the innards kept falling out. Not fun and definitely not good. The king oyster mushrooms were very good, but there was a ton of pink mayo dousing it. I would have preferred the sauce be in a separate bowl so we could choose how much dipping we'd like to do. The saffron tofu bowl was sensational! Perfectly spiced and full of a huge variety of well-cooked veggies plus the saffron rice was good too. No one came during our meal to ask if we needed anything or to ask how our meal was. The customer service is in need of some work.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner one evening and each ordered the aforementioned noodle soup--she got a small ($11.75 plus tax) and I got a regular ($12.75 plus tax). We also got an order of salad rolls ($7.50 plus tax), which comes with 2 rolls. The rolls came quite late. They were pretty standard, coming with fried tofu, vermicelli, and lettuce. The peanut dipping sauce was on the liquidy, salty soy sauce side of things -- I wish it were creamier and less salty. 3/5 The soups were decent. The broth was peppery, with some nice, gentle spices detectable in there. I asked for a side of chili oil, which helped amplify the broth. You get a generous portion of noodles, fried tofu, and vegetables (broccoli, bok choy, carrot). Unfortunately the veggies were quite overcooked -- the broccoli was almost soggy, so were the carrots and bok choy. 3/5 All in all, middle-of-the-road veggie pho. The broth is pleasant. The veggies were overcooked, but plentiful and nicely chosen. Decent place for veggie pho.
