The flavor of the soup was good, but the proportion of ingredients was way off (a LOT of bun, a teeny tiny amount of rieu) and the dish was missing many signature ingredients and flavor notes. The herbs weren't correct and there was no lime or chili or chau. Based on visuals alone, I didn't even know what it was supposed to be at first. My rating is mainly based on it's ambience and service. There is only one several but not a big deal since there are two tables with customers. Frustratingly they don't have Vietnamese coffee. Though the food seemed similar the Noodles I got and the one my friend got the "proteins" inside were the same....just my Noodle Dish was dry...and I switched from Egg Noodles to clear glass noodles....and my friend thought she got dry noodles "Mi Quang" I believe she ordered but it was soup based. Mine were dry like I wanted and came with a side of soup. I got Veggie, BBQ Chicken Egg Noodles (Replaced noodles with glass noodles). The place is affordable for a Vegetarian place and pretty good not overly salted or overly flavored which I believe is a mistake too many Vegan and Vegetarian places make.... Another one of those unassuming, not quite hole-in-the-wall, type of restaurant, yet with friendly service and friendly owner. I tried some rolls and the mì quảng, and I must say that the foods tasted great! And since it is vegetarian, you don't feel weighted down and heavy at all. We've been here twice over the past 2 weeks and both times were good. We've tried their Hủ tiếu , com tam, com ga , and bun Thái . They were all delicious! "Nhan Duc Hanh" located in the busy business area between Westminster Blvd and Newland St. The area was spacious with a lot of parking spots. So I had no problems finding one every time I was here. This place used to be cash only, but they got a lot more comfortable taking card payment now. Just let them know beforehand in case the credit card machine "doesn't work." Having been here for a few times in the past, I really enjoyed their vegetarian AYCE hot pot. The soup was amazing and all the toppings were fresh and high-quality. We always left with a full belly and satisfied feeling. I came back here this week to try other dishes on the menu. We chose the Special Rice combination and Hue Spicy noodles. The rice dish was pretty good. The imitated version of shredded pork skin and fish sauce tasted like the real ones. Wow! My Hue Spicy noodles was ok, but the portion was pretty small for a regular entree so sadly, my belly was not full this time. But the broth was very well-seasoned and the "meat" tasted good. First thing is this place of NOT vegan. Other reviewers don't know what vegan means or don't know what they're eating there. Most of their stir frys have dairy butter. Their proteins has whey in it. A lot of Vietnamese thinks vegetarian is vegan so they would say it's vegan, but ask if they use butter there and they'll say yes. Regarding the proteins there's a brand that's vegetarian and uses whey as one of their ingredients, and this place uses that brand. Otherwise this place has good flavors, but not vegan unfortunately. This place was fantastic! Not only is it right around the corner from our house and therefore gets extra points for proximity but the variety, the flavors and price point are all on point! I went with my cousins and husband so we tried 4 different dishes: Bun Rieu, Bun Bo Xa, Mi Quang and Bun Cha Gio. We also ordered the Goi Cuon. My bun rieu could have used a little bit more acidity/tartness but was otherwise yummy, the bun bo xa had great flavor, the mi quang was huge and the bun cha gio looked crispy and you couldn't even tell they're all vegetarian! The peanut sauce with the Goi Cuon was perfect. Did I also mention they had a sale on Passion fruit juice and sugar cane juice? Say no more, give me 4! STEPH JUDGEMENT: Lots of delicious vegan/vegetarian options and friendly service. I spotted this place while visiting my parents one weekend and was surprised I'd never noticed it before! When I read all the great Yelp reviews, I knew the hubby and I'd have to pay a visit. We'd intended to get stuff to go, but on the day we went the restaurant wasn't crowded at all and their front doors were wide open so we decided to dine in. We ended up getting the bun with lemongrass beef, the beef clay pot, some cha gio as appetizers (4 per order) and Thai teas. Everything came out amazingly fast, and the portions were generous--the bun was HUGE. We were really impressed by all the great flavors and the freshness of the produce. Their food does take exactly 15 or in my case 30 minutes for all that we ordered. -If you want variety get the 3 item combo that include soup, veggie, and sauteed dish. It's $20. By far one of the BEST vegetarian all you can eat hot pot! Prices are fair here and I really like that they are not skimpy with their portions! You can literally ask for anything and they will bring it right out for you. The veggies were super fresh and they had great "meat" options which included "shrimp" as well. Love the food here.. it's a small but very nice and cozy environment to dine in with your love ones. I actually don't know why this place isn't well known to a lot of vegan/vegetarian folks but it is a must try at least one time vegan Vietnamese cuisine. I've tried many different dishes here and I must say, every dish was delicious in its own way. The rolls were especially soft and addicting as appetizers too. Most of all is the all you can eat hot pot. They are not stingy and doesn't rush you out at all. The price is extremely reasonable to the point I don't know how they can actually make any profit. Nice decor, and very extensive menu of vegan Vietnamese food. Price is very reasonable with most items around $7-$8. Place feels like an organic temple. Lots of faux greenery around the walls and Buddha statues. Was playing some type of Vietnamese folk music while my wife and I dined. Mung bean drink with pandan leaf was good. It was somewhat grainy with a coconut-like flavor. I just wish they filled my cup all the way instead of filling it about 75% full. There was lot of ice in it too. Spring rolls were pretty good. It had fake shrimp and was served with peanut dipping sauce. Bun Thai (Thai style sour & spicy broth with vermicelli noodles) was good although the broth didn't taste like a traditional Thai soup. I was expecting it to taste similar to tom yum soup, but the broth had a strong floral (somewhat like incense) aroma to it. It came with large tofu pieces and fake shrimps. My favorite was the spicy lemongrass beef with rice (I don't recall the exact name). This is pretty much my favorite at all Vietnamese restaurants but I usually get it with chicken (or fake chicken at vegan places). The texture of fake beef was quite accurate. It was quite dense and somewhat chewy, but not in a bad way. The sauce tasted different than ones I had in the past. It was flavorful but wasn't as spicy as ones I had in the past. Seemed like it had more fish sauce. Service was lacking. Place wasn't busy at all but no one came by to check on us while we were here. Had to flag down someone just to get our check. We order takeout from here regularly because we live close by so it's convenient and very affordable. The rice dish (com bi cha thit nuong) is pretty bomb. They're also known for the hot pots which I also think are delicious. Some of the other dishes are mediocre but it's fair for the price and satisfies your craving. read more
