I have always been a huge fan of "vegetarian chicken" in vegan Chinese cuisine. This is a really tasty rice place. It's delicious, well seasoned, and comes with a big portion. I might not come back since I don't really travel to OC that often, but I still remember the taste. The place is a restaurant and a joint for getting vegan food ingredients. It's family style, casual, yet efficient. The people here are nice, helpful, and quick. Good luck with the business.

    ##6. Vegan BBQ Chicken Banhmi

Veggie day so stopped by for some veggie foods. Got a couple dish to go and banh mi bbq chicken. Got to say it's quite good and delish. They do sell hot and frozen foods. It's a small shop and they do have 2 computer tables that you can order for dine in. The prices are not bad (most dishes). Service was okey and it does take time to make the orders. I waited for 10mins for my banh mi. The place is packed with refigs and tables so felt like you are in a tight small closet. Most come and ordered to go, or call ahead (recommended if you know what to get). Overall glad I stopped by for vegetarian foods.

Was pleasantly surprised by this little spot. I was craving some banh mi while I was vegetarian for religious reasons. Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try based off the good reviews. I got the banh mi cha lua and it was pretty good. I'm always surprised how they make the imitation meat so identical to the real thing. The baguette bread was fresh and super crunchy! My banh mi came with plenty of pickled vegetables and stuffings. They even have vegan butter. Staff was friendly and they sell a variety of vegetarian items at the store as well. Definitely recommend and will be back for some good food.

Go here and eat! The Spring rolls and the vegan Teriyaki Chicken BanhMi sandwich was soooo grrrrrreat!!! I had a happy full tummy! The Spring rolls had a little crunch in the middle which I loved the texture of it all combined. The BanhMi was a big size sandwich and the bread smelled and tasted wonderful. Just perfect all around.

As an out of towner, I have to give my flowers to Thien Dang because they have some of the best vegan banh mi I've had for a very competitive price. The shop itself is very small and is very much a 'buy and go' type of establishment. Their menu includes a variety of vegan banh mi using different types of mock meats and house spreads, and they even have a hot deli section where you can create a to-go box of different dishes. I really loved my "Beef Banh Mi" and it was just as good the next day. Full size baguette with vegan spread, all the pickled goodness, and vegan soy meats inside that tasted just like their meat counterpart. Couldn't be happier with us stopping by here to grab a delicious meal. They accept card and digital payments which is nice to see.

This is, hands-down, the best place to get vegetarian banh mi. Some might say it's even better than other, meat-serving, locations. Even my nearly-carnivorous Dad enjoyed the sandwiches here. Whenever I come down to OC to visit my mom, I make it a point to stop by and get the chicken teriyaki sandwich (#5) and the bun rieu. They also have great veggie pate sold by the can, as well as many veggie meat options. Other fantastic options include their cơm suon bị cha chay and banh mi dac biet. They've added some tables that make the space cramped, but most people only come by to buy to-go anyway. I honestly don't know what I'd do if they ever closed. I'd live there if I could.

Four entrée meal; vegan anchovy, vegan scrambled egg next to the jalapeño slice, not sure the next one but the fat vegan fish (delicious).

This is a must taste vegan food. Their scrambled vegan eggs was incredibly delicious. It's like a typical tofu and turmeric powder mixed together. You can taste texture like. Ms. Chau was very helpful in my selections. They have like a mini market for vegan ingredients lovers. Thank you Ms. Chau. I am definitely going to revisit Thien Dang

Lent season has come and I am giving up meat for 40days. I was just in the area to do my taxes and I looked up vegetarian spots. This place popped up as the closest to the office. Had to check it out. Bout two orders each of the #2 & #7. So far the vegan beef is pretty good. I wish the beef prices were marinated longer for intense flavor. The pork one is different. A little to jello like, but flavor wasn't bad. Sugarcane and café sua da drinks are yummy. This is a little hole in a wall spot on brookhurst next to a beauty supply shop.

#9 Dac Biet choice of 3 meat option: beef, meatloaf, and bbq chicken.

The vegan shop here has quality vegan sandwich. I highly recommend the number 9 Dac Biet and I usually get it with 3 choice of meat: beef, meatloaf, and shredded meat. The other option is the bbq chicken and any other ones are by per request. #9 Dac Biet: beef, meatloaf, and I replaced shredded meat with bbq chicken. This was fire. 10/10 The combination of these three is really good and tastes just like the real Vietnamese sandwich banh mi that isn't vegan. I enjoyed how they give a good meat ratio. If you want more meat in your sandwich, they add additional $1 and it's pretty hearty

VEGETARIAN HEAVEN Great fake meat options for the sandwiches. The menu had a lot of other good looking items that I will dream of trying for the future. I got the BBQ chicken and I think it tastes just like the real thing. Wow wow wowza 10000/10 A gem. I would award a Michelin star if I had the power

    Vegan Combination Fried Rice

Off day for them based on the high average reviews. Super slow Sunday, but yet they don't pay attention to the few dine-in customers that they have. There was a solo diner when we arrived and no one in line. The broth in our vegan beef soup was lukewarm from the start, and we had to ask for napkins 2x. I told them that we were sharing 3 entrees so bring an extra bowl, but they forgot and took awhile to bring it out, leading to even more lukewarm-ness. It did take only 10-15 min for our multiple entrees to comer. The spring rolls were ho hum average with very little greens. The combo fried rice was dry, so we picked at the proteins and veggies. The owner manager was more fixated on replenishing his dried inventory than looking over whether we could use anything. The passionfruit drink was refreshing, albeit sugar laden. One dedicated parking space helps during busy strip mall time frames. I can't see myself returning here with so many nearby options. I left a tip nevertheless because I'm not a jenky patron.

Vegan Spare Rib, Shredded Meat, Beancurd Pie Rice
    Thao L.

I've been on a personal mission to find great tasting vegetarian and vegan/plant-based Vietnamese food and I'm super glad I found Thien Dang. I've only ever ordered from them on Grubhub but it's never been disappointing. My husband and I have tried quite a few of their banh mis, and I think their beef is my favorite one! I haven't had real beef in about 4 years now and theirs satisfied my craving - love the lemongrass on it. I also recently got their version of a combination broken rice and I liked it, but didn't love it. The shredded pork had a good texture and taste and so did the spare rib, but the bean curd pie left something to be desired. Also, the daikon and carrots weren't actually pickled which is weird since it's supposed to be Đồ chua. I let them sit in the fish sauce for a while and then added it to my rice and it was alright then. Their bun Bo hue (not pictured) was okay, it wasn't the best but it did the trick. The broth was very oily though and I wish it had more veggies or things in it and a stronger lemongrass flavor. I also wish they had given me extra saté like I requested because that would've definitely helped.

    Banh mi with ham.

The chicken was crispy and the dipping sauce gave it that extra yummy goodness. The dish also came with a side of broth that had chicken bits in it, was nice to help digest your dish. I also loved that they gave you pickled veggies & fresh veggies. We also ordered the Loi's Fusion Saltado, upgraded the rice to garlic egg fried rice. The beef was soft and tender, the fries were nice and crispy and the fried rice was fresh. You 100% need to get the Thai Tea. A lot of place add too much cream/half and half diluting the tea flavor, they do not skimp on the actual tea in their drink. The color speaks for itself on the dark orange hue!

I'm a bit late getting around to writing this, and unfortunately, they are already closed, but I still felt like I had to share my experience. I'm not completely surprised that they closed, especially after trying their bò né. I've had this dish many times at different places around Orange County, and unfortunately, this was probably the weakest version I've come across. The first thing that stood out was the presentation. As you can see in the picture, there was this purple-colored sauce on the meat itself, which honestly did not look very appetizing. To make things worse, the sauce was cold and did not heat in time with the skillet, which really took away from the experience. The flavor itself wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't anything memorable. It was just okay, and when you factor in the cold food and the presentation, it made the whole dish disappointing. With so many places around Orange County serving bò né at a much higher level, I would probably recommend spending your money elsewhere. If you were wondering whether you missed out on some hidden gem, don't worry, you didn't. This one felt more like a piece of coal than a diamond. That being said, every restaurant has its journey, and with more time, maybe they could have found their footing. Hopefully, they can take this experience as a lesson, refine their recipes, and bring something better in their next venture. I am rooting for you Loi!
