Food is great but they're sneaky and over charge you with the rice. We ordered the dish for two for $29.99. The menu says there is a $4.99 extra for white steam rice which I understood. However when I got the check I was charged $8.00. When I questioned it, she told me it was for two. I was perplexed because it was already assumed the $4.99 was for two since the meal was for two. I didn't make a stink about it because didn't want to make it uncomfortable for the rest of the people eating there, but I thought this was a shady and sneaky. Good service, friendly staff & great vegetarian food. Cleanliness was eh (table was sticky when we were seated, but the server placed a paper tablecloth immediately without wiping down the table), decor was nice. Also glad the restaurant isn't ran by morons - they can wear masks to keep their customers comfortable but they didn't force us to wear a mask for the 30 seconds we were walking from the door to our table. The food is 4 stars but service is a 1... I've only tried the hot pot, and it was incredible. Seriously, very good food, I really enjoyed it. However I did not enjoy the misinformation on the menu.. They specifically listed on the menu as all you can eat hot pot... but I eat a lot okay, so naturally I asked for more...they won't bring you any more if you ask.. They share the same space as 405 Hu Tieu Nam Vang. In the beginning, we were confused and thought we were at the wrong place (apparently, their stand-alone restaurant closed and moved over to this current location). The vegetarian dishes were on the last page and also shared the same space with the 405 meat menu. Strange set-up but whatever helps them save on expenses, I guess. They seemed to be short-staffed at the moment so it might be a few extra minutes for everything. Hopefully, you can be more patient. We got the all-you-can-eat vegetarian hotpot. The soup base was a slightly spicy broth and the faux meat, veggies, and the noodles will be sent to you on separate plates. They have a deal on cane sugar drinks where if you buy three, you get one free which we took advantage of. At the end of the meal, they even gave us a free mini-hotpot meal to take home! I've eaten at this restaurant more times than I can count over the years (long before they moved a few shops over to their present location in the same strip mall). This last visit will be my final. My wife and I brought a friend who was visiting from out of town, we ordered 2 different items. The man server (the same man whose worked their forever, and whose never bothered to learn more than a handful of English words), brought us 2 identical dishes. When we asked him why they look the same, he just laughed and walked away.... He and other staff members would occasionally look at us from afar and laugh. Then we found a piece of blue plastic in one of the dishes... I showed it to the server, and also asked again why he disrespected us. Of course, he barely understood. Later we asked for a to-go package, and he brought a styrofoam container with a hair in it.... I then wrote what I wanted to tell him via Google Translate into Vietnamese, and he didn't care to read it from my phone, so I showed it to another work who passed by, she glanced over it and drew her finger down her eyes sarcastically saying "boo hoo". I'm not making this up... Disrespectful, plastic and hair in the food, they will insult you without remorse.... Do not support this trash establishment. read more

The taste of the dishes are very similar to the actual dish (ex. pho & bun bo hue broth) but I wasn't the biggest fan of the alternatives they had for the meat simply because the texture was too gummy. The Nem Cuon was one of my favorite dishes and although it's an appetizer, it can fill you up. My only complaint about the Nem Cuon would be that the sauce served with it is a vegan nuoc mam so it can taste slightly plain because the dipping sauce doesn't complement the dish as well as other typical spring roll sauces. Pros: - Good vegan/vegetarian options for Vietnamese food! - Pretty affordable and you can definitely share dishes with other people in your party. This is the first all vegetarian place I've found with all you can eat hot pot! For 8.99 per person. I went twice with a group of 2 then 4. We also ordered the summer rolls #1 and #5. #1 is super delicious with soy meat (2 types) and some crunch to it. #5 is more standard with tofu shreds but you can tell it's super fresh. The hot pot came in a half and half bowl with one side spicy lemongrass and one side vege fish sauce flavor. I think these are standard..so not really any choice of broth but they are super good. Then you get a plate of mushrooms, Tofu, soy meat and a big boat/tray of vegetables (napa cabbage, carrots, taro, pumpkin, enoki, carrots, and more). Then you get small plate of fried bean curd strips to break off and make your stuff crunchy.. THEN you get a plate of half rice noodle and half egg noodle. Then...just kidding! But no really you can get refill after refill of the whole thing or ask for something specific. They are super nice (but some don't speak English that well and they may ask the primary English speaker of that establishment to come instead). I was super stuffed and super happy by the end. Then they give you a funny coupon for $5 off $27 next time. Score!! By the way...CASH ONLY. They also have small vegetarian goodies like vege ham roll or sticky rice tamales for sale too. read more

Seats and table settings are very elegant and they have Buddhist statues throughout the restaurant. I can see this being a popular eatery for Buddhist monks and nuns. I geared off their recommendations and wanted to get their banh uot (rice noodle sheets), but they said they didn't have any. So I went with my second choice, eggplant stir fried with basil, and they said they didn't have that either. I ended up having to pick a random tofu dish (tofu stir fried with basil), which ended up being okay. It didn't come with rice so I had to order that separately, which was dry. On the other hand, my aunts loved their bun bo hue (vermicelli noodle soup Hue style), and my mom loved her bun bi cha gio mam Thai (vermicelli with vegetarian egg rolls and Thai sauce). So I came here to have the $8.99 AYCE hot pot. The place is located in the same plaza as the Stater Brothers, and is closer to the corner on the other side. The Hot Pot was okay, it came with a divider in the middle (we ordered for two), so we decided to make one side spicy and the other not. There is a sweet, spicy and lemongrass sauce on the side to add some flavor. It came with a variety of veggies and fake meats. The fake meats were okay, they had sort of a rubbery texture that is reminiscent of the kind you can get at the supermarket. The veggies were hit or miss. The taro for example seemed kind of old and when we boiled it it didn't get soft right away. The shiitake-like mushrooms tasted like they were dried mushrooms that were soaked again. The other veggies tasted fresh and good though. The soup itself was okay, I didn't find the flavor all that interesting or noteworthy. Really delicious cheap colossal size dishes! I was in awe of everything that came out the first time I tried this place. My friend and I had bun bo hue, hot & sour soup and a stir fry "beef" dish (I don't remember name but it had bell peppers too). Everything was delicious and I swear the XXL size bowls were only $7.99 and we baaarely finished everything..thank god it's vegan, so inhaling all that didn't feel as bad. I came back few days later with another friend and we ordered their all you can eat hot pot that was $11.99 per person (!!!) and it was so good! Besides the service which is understandable and expected at most Vietnamese restaurants in this OC area, food is delicious. The flavors hit the spot. We ordered coconut juice and mung bean pandan drink. They were refreshing and soo good!! Another thing is that this vegan restaurant either works together or owns by the same people with the Hot Pot and Grill AYCE next door so don't be surprised when you see the same servers walking back and forth grabbing stuffs. My family order fresh spring roll, crispy egg noodle with vegetable and beef and other kind of meat, salad but had egg rolls and roasted pork but of course all the meat are vegetarian. We also had hot pot. We didn't do ayce hot pot. We just share a small size hot pot that costs about $14.99. I like the broth of the hot pot. It was very flavorful. It comes with vegetable imitated meat and 2 different type of noodle. All the other food that we order were good as well. Even though i am a meat eater, i always enjoy vegetarian food. It always feel good to my body as long i don't eat too much of it The prices of the foods here are reasonable. Friendly staff and great service. A really good vegetarian restaurant with a wide variety of food. We got the crispy noodles and vegetarian bun bo hue. The portion sizes are huge and so much cheaper than most places ($7.75 for large). They also have bogo drinks on their menu ($3.00-3.50 per drink). Service is extremely fast ( took about 7 mins for food to come out after ordering ) Only thing I wasn't really satisfied about was too much mushrooms ( not a huge fan of mushrooms ) Either way, I'm coming back soon ~ read more
