05/24/26 Sunday…read more Stars: 4.5/5 Our friends booked this venue for their wedding reception. Sea Queen has a restaurant side and a banquet hall side. We had the banquet hall side and it was able to accommodate 200 guests. They had the place set up early and allowed the wedding party to come in advance to drop off drinks, decor, etc. They allowed us to bring food and alcohol. They also prepaid for drinks from the bar so folks could order from a bartender. Only a few dishes were ordered (since there was other food from an outside catering vendor) and I only got to try it after it was cold so I can't give a wholistic review on the food they serve, but I really liked the leaf wrapped beef with Banh Hoi (vermicelli sheet) and the mango salad! My one complaint is the women's bathroom. Two (out of 3) of the stalls can't lock so the girls had to help each other hold the doors closed. However, it was mostly clean and had toilet paper in stock. +They offer takeout containers for leftovers from the party. +Very kind and accommodating staff. They cleared some tables to create more space on the dance floor. +Parking is plentiful.

To me they should have just closed for a private party. Everything I wanted to try wasn't available. We were forced to eat what the other party had already ordered. After a few servings we decided to leave.

Keep in mind they do not take reservations and only seat you (or prepare to seat you once your full party is present) which is totally fair and honestly not that bad of a wait even on Mother's day. The waitress also offered to take our large order ahead of being seated so there would be minimal time waiting for our food over seated which was very thoughtful. Onto the food, YUM! Our table ordered a variety of their vermicelli bowls (short rib, chicken, grilled pork+shrimp), Pho (special combo and brisket), eggrolls, thai iced tea, and vietnamese iced coffee. Everything we ordered was so delicious and there were generous portions of meat in all of our dishes. The fish sauce that came with the vermicelli bowls was super delicious and tasted so much more flavorful than any other Vietnamese restaurant I've dined at. The pho broth was piping hot and tasted so clean and refreshing. Drinks were also great and I honestly loved everything about today's lunch! I will definitely be coming back with my family and my kids loved all of the food (pho and vermicelli) too!

The staff was very friendly and they gave me some recommendations as it was my first time. When it's colder I'll have to try their Pho but for now I tried their BBQ short ribs and their spicy chicken plate which came with rice. I loved both dishes! I could tell the ingredients were fresh and they both dishes were flavorful. I do feel like they could've given a little more meat compared to the rice but maybe that's a takeout thing? If you have a large party I would probably call in advance because the space is limited and it was PACKED when I got there. I'm hoping someone will review their Cajun food/crab boil because I want to try that as well.

As a vegetarian, I truly enjoyed eating here…read more First of all, the menu has a leaf symbol next to the vegetarian dishes which made it easy to scan through the vast number of items on offer. Secondly, it tasted really good. I ordered the vegetarian rice noodles. My only regret is that I didn't tell them I wanted the big flat noodles, so they defaulted to the skinny spaghetti-like ones. Now I know that even if they don't ask, tell them what I'd prefer anyway. Lastly, the portions are big enough to bring leftovers home which is a big deal for me since eating out can be expensive. If I'm paying that much, being able to get a second meal out of it is much appreciated. Parking wasn't an issue. I immediately found one right in front of the restaurant. As for the restaurant itself, it's modern and clean. Beware that if you end up sitting facing the windows like I did, I was blinded by the sun shining off a car window, so I had to scoot all the way inside the booth. It's because the door is made of glass and unlike the other windows it doesn't have signs to block glare. When I was about to leave, I told them there was no more toilet paper in the restroom and they went out of their way to stop what they were doing to get more for me. Apparently, the cabinet inside the restroom was empty, so one of the employees had to call another employee for help and they found more in another cabinet outside the restroom. I quite enjoyed my experience here and just writing this I'm already craving more of the food I had ordered.

My fave rave is PHO LONG in Colton, but if that's understandably too far for you there's nothing wrong with PHO ISLAND. If you empty your vermicelli bowl here, it must be pretty good. And it is. My partner in crime got a tofu vermicelli bowl and was impressed. My shrimp and pork and crispy fried rolls bowl was definitely tasty. And the pricing was very reasonable. The only catches here were odd -- 1. When approaching the entrance, there was an awful 'sewage' like smell. When leaving, it was there again -- but it was really farming manure in the air everywhere. Not their fault, but not appetizing. 2. Apparently this place opened 16 years ago, and it's starting to show on the interior furniture. I know fixing things up would likely raise prices, but I saw a couple kinda dressed up on a date -- and the place could be a little more dressed up itself. 3. The shrimp in my bowl arrived on a thin stick skewer. To have a shrimp you must pick up the stick by the tips and pull one off. Well that shrimp apparently came right off the grill because it burnt my fingertip. It was like picking up a wooden match seconds after it's been used. That said -- this place was bustling on a Friday night, nearly full -- which means they're doing most things right.

Though the servers are friendly, they just seat, you, take your order and deliver your food. That's it. they don't come back to check on you or clear away dirty plates. I saw this with the tables around us. So we only tipped 10% as they didn't care to "serve" us. Our pho came quickly but we had to wait awhile for the basil/sprouts/jalapenos and lime, which were a skimpy. We waited so long we got up to ask if we were going to get any and they said yes, it's on it's way. All pho restaurants bring that plate out immediately after ordering. A heaping plate. Would have been nice if they told us this platter was on it's way. We were partially through our bowl when it arrived. I ordered my usual, Pho Tai. Most pho places serve the thinly sliced beef rare, over the hot broth and noodles. I would swish it in the broth and it's cooked. This place broth the beef fully cooked, not thinly (not shaved) sliced and the meat was of poor quality. Very tough. The broth was good but not much flavor. No check was presented, so we assumed we have to go up front to pay. That's when the server got up from a booth where she was relaxing to check us out. Again, hence the 10% tip.
