The 8 course meal seemed oddly timed. Everything basically came in rapid succession in different order. The food tastes reheated, plastic-y and room temp. Highlights were the croquettes, salad and churros. The front staff and waitress...

were also dressed extremely casually which is interesting for the vibe I think this place is trying to give off. I will shoutout the food runners who were extremely efficient and hardworking. I always want to support family owned businesses, but with prices like this and in a place like Fulton Market, you have to perform at a certain level and this place unfortunately doesn't. I would not eat here again. There is also a mandatory 20% gratuity (after tax i might add) which normally doesn't bother me but in this case when the server interacted with us twice in two hours, I don't think it was deserved. I at least hope it is split among other staff.

No saganaki, no bacon wrapped dates, no shrimp with sliced garlic, no banana with caramel sauce and walnuts, just to name a few. Super disappointing! Once we regrouped and adjusted to the change, we ordered the Nia salad (thankfully...

they still have that), the lamb chops with wild mushroom risotto and the branzino with cannellini beans, tomatoes and spinach. Truly, the only item that was eatable was the salad. The lamb chops were tiny and mostly a thick layer of fat and the risotto was runny and had a weird aftertaste. The branzino was dry and overcooked and there was about two leaves of baby spinach incorporated into the bean and tomato mixture. We called the waiter over and complained. He did take the branzino off our bill as I just couldn't eat it. He also explained that they have a new chef and he wants to take the restaurant into a different direction-- more of a fine dining experience. Well I have to say that as a frequent diner prior to the pandemic, sadly I won't be returning. The food is simply low quality and overpriced and with other true fine dining experiences in the area, this does not cut it. And to top everything off, the owner canceled my Open Table reservation as opposed to checking us in, so I won't even get the points for that terrible meal.

I went here with a group of friends and wasn't impressed. We have been exploring West Loop restaurants, and so far this is my least favorite. Our server just seemed timid and not cut out for a customer service job (sweet but very shy). She did refill our waters consistently though and our food came promptly. We tried 4 dishes and that was definitely enough for our group of 4. The pancetta crostini was the star of the show, so delicious!! The French onion soup was also good. The crispy cauliflower itself was good but it came with whole wheat pita and hummus that was pretty bland. The patatas bravas had a good sauce on them, but the potatoes themselves were just alright. Also, the inside seating area is much smaller than you would assume from the outside and pretty dark. Overall: decent experience, but in my opinion doesn't live up to the high caliber of restaurant set by other West Loop spots

I stopped in for some quick bites and wine after work and this was the perfect place to do so! The chicken and beef skewers were well seasoned and tender, the hummus was fresh, and wine was good. The decor was very welcoming and homey. I would definitely stop back in to this nice family- woman owned restaurant in the heart of West Loop.

After perusing Chicago's restaurant week menus, my friend and I landed on Nia's 8 course dinner for $45. We snagged a reservation for a Saturday night and when we arrived were seated right away. Our waiter was nice but seemed a little scattered, possibly because they were so busy. Water glasses were filled regularly and I also ordered a Manhattan ($15) that tasted like a well drink. The food was hit or miss - we really enjoyed some dishes and others not so much: - tomato crostini (3/5) - French onion soup (5/5) - goat cheese & date salad (5/5) - croquette (3/5) - chicken skewer (2/5) - patatas bravas (3/5) - mushroom pizza (4/5) - churros (2/5) Spacing of how quickly dishes came out could be improved - the first three basically came out at the same time and there continued to be a rush until dessert which had a long wait but didn't even arrive hot so that was a head scratcher. No plates changed out between courses so mine was a mess by the end. Overall, it was nice to try a new spot on restaurant row but Nia left a little to be desired.

Came into Nia for happy hour and tried a few of their bites and drinks. The French 75 was delicious and strong. The bites were presented very well, but were just okay. Everything lacked flavor. Patatas bravas needed to be crispier, (2.5/5). Veggie croquettes texture was off, (3/5). Lastly the pancetta had very strange flavors, would not recommend, (2/5). Cute patio, but inside of the restaurant was nothing special. Service was fine!

A hidden gem in the west loop! Went for the chef tasting menu and everything was so good. You have to get the pancetta and the Nia salad, followed by the jumbo prawns! Served in a delicious sauce and amazing fresh bread! The croquettes were amazing. Then the skirt steak and fries, also soo good!! Parking is a nightmare. Service was great and very friendly. Will definitely be back

Went for restaurant week and got the $60 chef selection. It was not worth the money. The food was all over the place, bad timing, room temperature, very plain flavor. Also, the service was very slow. Not worth the price and can't compare to other fulton market restaurants. It was not bad, but not good enough for a $100+ restaurant.

We came in for the chefs tasting 8 course menu- I didn't get all the photos; but here's what we got: Nia salad- love the salad! Great flavors and toppings; fresh goat cheese and dates! Was a treat to start our meal. Whipped beetroot crostini with pancetta- fantastic mix, filling, great flavor; lots of pancetta French onion soup- pretty tasty- great flavor, perfect size Shrimp- lacked flavor imo- but cooked beautifully. Very light Oxtail peppers- excellent flavor; loved the goat cheese stuffed pepper. Very interesting but tasty mix. Skirt steak- cooked perfectly- excellent cut, very fresh. Wasn't a fan of the tomato chimichurri; but the steak alone was amazing. Potato au gratin- served a little cold so the cheese wasn't melted. Wasn't too much of a fan. Cheesecake- incredible- really paired well with the fruit and walnut; I heard that it's a special treat from Spain where the chef is from. Bravo for adding that to the menu. Great location- it was kinda sad to see there wasn't many people at this establishment; there was lots of seating, weather was perfect in Oct. My only major complaint- when we ordered our food, we were asked if we were aware of the pricing; and if someone had told us the cost before we ordered it. It made us feel a certain way- it's not something I've ever been asked prior to ordering something from a menu. It put a bad taste in our mouth from the beginning. Other than that, staff was friendly, food was delightful. I sure hope it picks up with customers- I think there is a lot of potential here

We tried the 8 course tasting meal. Everything was amazing Chef Daniel's is a genius and a master at his craft! The service was all on point, they are very friendly! We had the amazing owner Auntie Nia serving us! This was all an amazing experience and a great relaxed atmosphere. You must not miss out on this place! The value is truly incredible! My girlfriend and I came in for restaurant week and shared an 8 course meal. The staff was very accommodating in letting us split some of the vegetarian/meat options so both my girlfriend and I could enjoy. Our top favorite was the croquettes and the tomato soup and hummus were surprising tops as well. The chicken pinxtos had great flavor. Only complaints were that it took a little while for them to bring the bottomless sangria out and the pizza wasn't our favorite. All around a good experience and worth trying! They mentioned that they do the bottoms less sangria and tasting menu year round for parties of 4 or more!

10/10 recommend. My friend and I walked by and decided to check out the happy hour. It was so good that I had to come back the next week. Chef Daniel's piquillo peppers stuffed with braised oxtail, goat cheese and basil pesto are to die for as is the seafood paella. Every dish is so colorful and flavorful. & if you're looking for the best spicy margarita (made in house) in Chicago, look no further. We came to Nia for their extended Restaurant Week special and it did not disappoint. Each course was thoughtfully prepared and executed. Our favorites included the prosciutto de parma and the combo of the charred skirt steak, ponme frites, and rigatoni bolognese. Whatever you do, save room for the dessert martinis...or do like my husband did and order it first! read more

The restaurant week $60 Eight Course meal was delicious! Understandably the staff was overwhelmed with the RW crowd but they handled it well. My wife and I sat right by the window at a tall table near the bar so we didn't get to experience the center of the dining hall. So the food. French Onion soup well balanced flavor and the arugula salad had a great mixture of fruits and nuts, but also deliciously salty olives. Yum! The french fries with Feta (Greek Fries) were actually a welcomed surprise. I felt it was out of place to be among the course at first glance, but this was an excellent way to for them to show off their tasty FETA!! Holy cow it was good! Soft and delicate like they made it right in the back! I'll be coming back when it is less chaotic! Still great night! read more

We went for restaurant week and it was awful. Our waiter had the personality of an ashtray, argued with multiple tables and rarely brought over anything that we ordered. I watched some lady who had short blondish red hair who was either the owner or manager argue with a table who complained about bad service. However, the other waitresses there were lovely and obviously trying their best. They tried to pick up the slack when our waiter was awful. I'm sure they'll end up at a much better restaurant with better management. read more

Had a great experience at Nia. Came here for restaurant week (appreciate them extending it a week!). The entire menu we selected was fantastic. The prosciutto de Parma was excellent. Nothing like we've had before and very good. The star of the show was the skirt steak and frites. Cooked to perfection and delicious. Bottomless sangria is a great deal and very good! Pleasantly surprised! So upon walking in the Resturant seemed to be out of place for the west loop. The Resturant gave me old family Resturant vibes, which was nice. I wasn't happy about the glasses being dirty but we asked for new glasses and they brought out water. Great customer service we were checked on often by who I believe was the owner or manager. We ordered a few beverages which were all We did the Resturant week menu which was served family style. This food was good, I will eat here again. read more

Had such a lovely experience with my Person at this beautiful Restaurant. The owner was a joy and very helpful with suggestions from the menu. My person and I indulged in the Chef's 8-Course tasting menu. I added some some photos below, so feel free to take a look. My favorite was the shrimp and the skirt steak with cauliflower. 10 out of 10 highly recommend this place is great for a date night during the winter and fall time! awful. Went here for restaurant week, where the tasting menu explicitly calls out they will accommodate food allergies and there are gf options available. They just told the 2/3 in the party that were celiac what courses they couldn't have. Shrugged when asked about dessert (cheesecake with flour). The runners were amazing tho - did as kitchen and ticket said, but the waitress (also the owner I think) wasn't great. Didn't communicate well about the food allergy to kitchen or runners. Service was horrendous. Wouldn't seat the party until everyone was here, even though it was not very busy (should've been our first red flag). They have QR code menus, fake candles on the tables, bad music playing and lighting is harsh. Reservation was 6:30, we were sat at 6:55 (granted last in party was 15 mins late) and then ignored at table for 25 minutes. We finally ordered after being told the differences between the $45 and $60 menu (more meat was on the more expensive one - but different courses?). We all ordered a sangria (served in glass cups you get at ikea with a straw). Opted to not get the bottomless due to lack of service - figured we would never get refills, we were right. Not once were we asked if we wanted another drink. With an 8 course meal, we had to ask what each dish was when set down and if it was gf. We only got one small plate to then share the "small" plates as they came out. Had to ask for water refills, new plates after 4 courses, and utensils to serve with once courses were set down. They were all served family style. One "replacement course" for the gf peeps was forgotten and brought out at the end. All in all, once we got the food it was "eh". The best course were the stuffed peppers with cauliflower mash and chili oil and even then wasn't mind blowing. Got the bill and costs an extra $10+ to use credit card - wasn't told this until after we swiped. Stomach hurts after being home, so pretty sure there was cross contamination or something I ate. Wishing this could've worked out for us, but unfortunately $60+++ per seat for tasting menu just isn't it. read more

Oh my gosh, we got a Groupon for the chef tasting. We called 10 times, emailed AND went in person and could not get ahold of someone to book the reservation. EVEN IN PERSOB. You have to call to book the Groupon. We were more than patient. Finally after calling two more times I got ahold of someone, the manager Sharon answered and was so rude to me. I tried explaining everything to her and she continued to cut me off and say "I did it. I made the reservation. I have to go now". She was not apologetic about the hassle of making the reservation and kept putting the blame on me. I absolutely would not go if I didn't already buy the Groupon and an extra gift card to the restaurant. If this is how their customer service is over the phone, I can only imagine how it is in person. So unprofessional and disappointing. read more

My husband discovered Pet Nat varietal and took a bottle home for himself! It's great to have a place to grab a good unique bottle of wine, welcome to the neighborhood!

**Nia's Eight-Course during Restaurant Week** My dining experience at Nia during Restaurant Week was a culinary odyssey filled with delight, as I indulged in their $59 eight-course dinner menu. Each dish was meticulously crafted, with standout favorites including the Nia Salad, Prosciutto di Parma, and Skirt Steak, while the Shrimp Risotto provided a satisfactory experience. Our evening concluded on a sweet note with the delectable Crema Catalana dessert. Food: 5/5 The Nia Salad was a refreshing start, followed by the exquisite flavors of the Prosciutto di Parma and the perfectly cooked Skirt Steak, which were definite highlights of the meal. Although the Shrimp Risotto was decent, it didn't quite match the excellence of the other dishes. The Crema Catalana dessert provided a delightful conclusion to our dining experience. Service: 4/5 Nia's service was great throughout the evening, with attentive staff ensuring that our dining needs were met promptly and professionally. Our waitress, Sarah, provided couple recommended dishes and keep up with water during the dinner. My now husband and I recently hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner (of 35 people) in Nia's private dining room in June. We had dined at Nia's previously so we knew how delicious the food is. We contacted Nia via email inquiring about the space, and luckily they had availability for our date. Nia (the owner herself) emailed us the menu options and bar packages right away and we worked out a contract for the evening. Many know that planning a wedding requires flexibility on the part of the couple and on the vendors they hire- Nia was the most accommodating yet! We had a few last minute changes to guest count and they were able to update the reservation without hesitation or question. During the night of the dinner everything was just wonderful! The private room is downstairs and there is a bar area right there, so no wait time for the drinks. The restrooms are also downstairs so the layout for a private event is perfect. The tables were set and there were cute votive candles on all of the tables- we did bring in other little decorations, but even without them, the room looked wonderful. There are speakers in the room and we had music playing for us during the time we were there. Nia was there checking in on us frequently and serving drinks at the bar. It's always nice to see an owner so involved in their restaurant- it shows they truly care. The food is tapas style, so it came out at perfectly timed intervals and everyone loved all of it! We had 8 courses, so there's something for everyone. For future Brides and Grooms- you will not be disappointed should you host your rehearsal dinner here. Nia was a true pleasure to work with- sweet and caring- and she and her staff set the tone for a wonderful wedding weekend! read more

Anytime I'm in the West Loop area I always swing by Nia Restaurant for a bite and a good drink. This time around I got the Octopus dish with Calabrian Chili peppers, pickled onion and arugula. To say it was great is an understatement! This is definitely one of the best dishes I have ever experienced. Chef Daniel is certainly very talented and each time I come here I try something different, all of which are consistently high quality in flavor, execution and presentation. As for drinks, I had a Vodka martini for starters and secondly I had a long Island iced tea, which was honestly one of the best I have ever experienced! Erin's bartending and service were excellent and she made me feel quite at home during my visit to the restaurant. Whether you're looking for a nice drink, a great appetizer or a high quality meal, Nia Restaurant has all of this to offer and more! We dined at Nia's on a peaceful Saturday night for our anniversary! We were super excited after finding their amazing 8 course chef tasting menu and let me just say, it did NOT disappoint. There was not a single course that we did not enjoy, and several of them far exceeded a 10 rating. Everything was fresh and balanced (not overly salty, sauced, etc.), and it was clear both the chefs and owner put great care into the quality of their food and the diner's experience. My favorite course was probably the piquillo peppers stuffed with braised oxtail, but the pancetta crostini and artisan pizza were close seconds!! We ordered bottomless sangria with our meal that was delicious as well. Nia was incredibly warm and welcoming and shared about the restaurant and neighborhood. It's always a bonus to feel genuinely cared for in your dining experience. Please go, neighborhood spots like these deserve to be supported! read more

Our organization had our annual holiday party in Nia's "party room" which is located downstairs from the restaurant. It's a really large space and accommodated around 100 guests for a cocktail reception, no problem. We set up about 8 tables so people could sit throughout the event and it worked perfectly. Some guests stood at the bar, others mingled around the room, others sat at a table and ate the delicious food. Nia, the owner, was incredibly accommodating, letting me select whatever tapas we liked from the menu. Everything was truly delicious. We decided to offer wine & beer (no hard liquor) to save on cost and everyone was more than pleased with the selections. It also included sangria which was delicious. If you are looking for a place in the West Loop that is not crazy expensive and has more of a personal feel & touch, look no further! read more

Really good food, really bad service. I went there with a friend last night. I waited for someone to acknowledge me after I came in for about 8 minutes. When I tried to use the bathroom because I had been standing for so long, I was called out by staff but continued to be ignored. My friend showed up and we were seated at a dirty table. The woman serving our table was extremely rude. She checked on us once and then poured our entire wine bottle in our glasses so she wouldn't need to come back. When we didn't order dessert she huffed away and I had to yell at her to bring another bottle of wine. I love the area but there are so many good restaurants there, they need to step up their game. read more

I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to go back to Nia. I first went here about two years ago and its great to see that its still going strong. I love this intimate European feeling room along with the friendly service. And lets talk charcuterie! A great selection of Spanish sausage- a spreadable chorizo- and cheese to start. Followed up by a fresh arugula salad and yummy lamb and feta meatballs.The wine selection is diverse and well thought out as are the signature cocktails. And to finish the best bread pudding with homemade caramel sauce I have ever had. If you are over on Randolph this is a place not to be missed. This is still one of my favorite places in Chicago. read more

Nia's restaurant was nothing short of amazing! Not only was the food to die for but the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. We went for a Happy hour that turned into dinner because the vibes of the place were so great. The French onion soup and artisan pizza were my absolute favorite. I also LOVED the margaritas and espresso martini made by Nia herself! If you're looking for a place to go for date night or just to enjoy with friends I could not recommend this place more. Will definitely be back for their tasting menu and looking forward to checking out their patio this summer! read more

We had dinner for 8 last night, and selected from the group menu in advance, so that everything was ready and served smoothly. We'd never been here before, and selected Nia based on the availability for our group and the convenient location. It was an excellent choice. Everyone loved the food, from the Nia salad through the chocolate mousse. The tenderloin was especially good. There was nothing left over, and we enjoyed all 8 courses. The service was excellent, and the setting was great for conversation. We look forward to returning, maybe just for an intimate dinner for two. read more

We were driving around Randolph strip, and stumbled upon this joint with a new sighn Free valet parking drew our immediately attention to check this Mediterranean tapas out. It was Thursday night, the place was half full. Our wine was being served before water! I had to ask our server for water twice! The food is just ok. We ordered Saganaki They were not quite up to par. Though, the Broiled Octopus was pretty amazing. What made me give two stars are because of the service and the terrible choice of music. The music is just couldn't go with the ambiance, whatsoever. read more

Yowza! Wow. This place sees-is to AMAZE me. Just had a great bouillabaisse seafood soup and tuna tartar there today and have been there a bunch of times now. Its just absolutely always wonderful when I go, especially being the coziest place on the Randolph strip either for a date or a group of friends. Always dig the seafood specials and especially love the lamb dishes I have tried. I really do appreciate it being there. Such a better alternative then going to some cavernous place like Red Light or Marche where it just feels corporate and uninviting. read more

Fifteen of my family friends went in for a birthday celebration and we had a wonderful time. The food is simple and delicious. The quality of ingredients and freshness really stand out. The service is very friendly and knowledgable. The private party room, where we were seated is very well decorated. The 8 course tasting menu is the best part. All that amazing food for only $33. No wonder it was so busy. Highly recommend for big groups and wine lovers. Enjoy a glass of Albariño with the delicious ceviche and don't miss the bread pudding. read more

The French Onion Soup with caramelized onions and gruyere cheese is a comforting start, and the Piquillo Peppers with braised oxtail are a flavor bomb. We have been to Nia twice. The first time we went on a 'food crawl' on Randolph, starting at Nia and walking west, sampling small dishes at the various restaurants along the way. Tapas was a great start and we liked the beef and chicken brochettes and the bacon wrapped grapes in particular. We liked it so much we went back for a full meal there. I ve been going to Nia's since last summer and it gets better everytime. Their paella is amazing and flavorful. Some of my other favorites include arugula and goat cheese salad, lamb meatballs, and pumpkin gnocchi. My boyfriend and I also enjoy stopping by late night for a quick drink; we like to chill at the bar, and i love the ambience. The service is excellence. I came here a while back with my boyfriend for a spontaneous night out. We loved it. The atmosphere was perfect. There are not many restaurants in Chicago that are this intimate and cozy. Sharing a great bottle of wine was also wonderful. The food was great too. We shared a few tapas (the patatas bravas was excellent, as were the fried olives). Service was excellent. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. An intimate spot with GREAT food! Enough on each plate to share, you can order several things. It is easy to fill up quick! The Citrus Ceviche, the Bacon Wrapped Dates and the Beef Brochette are my favorites. Whenever we have friends or family come in to visit, we always take them here. Everyone always loves it.
