We ran up on this creamery on chance while in the area. We were looking for dessert and pulled into the plaza. This place was hopping with the locals. The line was out the door. Everyone was waiting patiently. 3/4 young kids were working taking orders. They had a lot of flavors to choose from. I was interested in the brown butter cookie dough to try but ultimately went with pistachio. It was delicious. I just found out it had gluten whomp whomp!! We also tried a shake with coffee and chocolate chunks! They also sell ice cream cakes and ice cream sandwiches. I came back here and ordered a flight this time. It came with four ice cream varieties and a waffle cone. The waffle cone was tasty and came out fresh while also having a nice crunch. Each flavor of ice cream was also divided where no touching of flavors was done, which was a great idea. The four flavors I had are below. Brown Sugar Cookie Dough - This was better than I remember, and I enjoyed the actual brown sugar ice cream better this time. Key Lime Pie - This was alright. The crumbs were too soft, and the actual lime ice cream overpowered that. Porta - This was a porta ricotta and virgin olive oil sweet cream ice cream. This was solid but could not really taste the olive oil and ricotta presence. It tasted ever so slightly, but the sweet cream flavor was good. Sooo creamy and refreshing on a hot summer day. The staff at the front were so friendly and were quick to let you try whichever flavors they had. They have a cute cow chair in the store. We got the medium cup which includes 2 flavors. One was this Bourbon chocolate chunk (I can't remember the name) but it was boozy, rich and chocolate-y. Not pictured is the mint chocolate chip scoop. Found this creamery after a long day at the beach and I was so happy we decided to choose this one out of the few we found... First of all, the place was packed and that was the first sign it was a good choice. The staff was super friendly and understanding. We were a big group on top of the huge crowd that was there, and that can be challenging sometimes but it was as smooth as it could've gone. Almost all of us decided to get medium ice cream on a waffle cone... the cones are made at the store and those were the BEST cones I have had. You can tell they were fresh, and they were crispy but with some softness and thicker than usual, just the cones are business potential. I had cherry goat cheese and cookies and cream. The cookies and cream was as good as it could be, creamy, with tonsss of cookies... the cherry goat cheese flavor tasted just like cheesecake and was soooo good!!! Like 4 of us ended up choosing it after they gave us some to taste. Loved the creamery and will definitely be back if I'm ever around the area!! Totally worth it!!!! read more

Excellent new location in Long Branch NJ, conveniently located in Ursula Plaza. This location has renovated the store where Hoffman's was. The store is bright and welcoming as is the staff. The previous tenant in long branch was Hoffmann ice cream which was solid, attentive service and a terrific option to standing in long lines at coney waffle or Lighthouse with the summer crowds. Nicholas has a superior product but two recent visits left me disappointed by service especially with Nicholas's premium pricing in a strip mall. Both instances I was left waiting while one or more workers surveyed their cellphones? Are they expecting to save lives or discover a cure for cancer as they review their IG accounts? I went to the newly opened Nicholas creamery in long branch NJ. They just took over from Hoffmann ice cream. I asked a young guy for a small Chocalate soft ice cream with sprinkles and a medium soft Chocalate ice cream with sprinkles and Chocalate syrup. I saw a girl making another one and she came to the sprinkle area and put sprinkles on all the sides with a spoon and then dunk the ice cream in the sprinkles......wow very nice I thought. My guy comes over to the sprinkle section ad gets a spoonful of sprinkles and pours them over the top and half fall back into the pile of sprinkles. Oh well I guess 40 sprinkles are better then none. At the register I while paying I saw that there was no Chocalate syrup on the cream so I asked him and he said yes it's on the bottom. Ok I guess. As I walked away eating my I cream I didn't get any syrup and toward the end I could see some Chocalate syrup on the bottom maybe half a teaspoon. Maybe they do it different here but I'm used to the syrup being poured over the I cream so you get some with every spoonful. Sorry Nicholas creamery but I can't come back you got my $13 and change but never again. read more
