While I always bring coffee making kit with me, I hadn't remembered tea. Turned out the kitchen was well-stocked with all the tea. Our host very kindly offered to pick up things for us when it snowed, but it's only about a mile walk into town, so we found it pretty easy to pick up provisions at the excellent Co-Op and Bakery San Juan. There are so many great hikes on the island, but having a day to watch the snow fall, read, and drink tea, was just what I needed--along with watching the bald eagles nesting. What a special place!

I can't say enough about how they made everything so easy and pleasant. The hotel itself is at once a charming relic, a fun house and a rare gem! Don't expect modern 5-star accommodations this is no Ritz Carlton; thank goodness! That would ruin the village and the experience. The village is also charming, gracious and welcoming. Go, relax and chill leave the rest of the world behind you! It's worth the effort to get there which should be considered a leisurely adventure.

Location cannot be beat. It is literally steps from the harbor, and you can step right off of your boat, the ferry or the seaplane. Check-in and quick and easy. I stayed in Sweet 1 which is the 1st room up the stairs. So convenient to going everywhere. Room is super spacious and everything was comfortable. Nice touch with the welcome fruit bowl. Bath was also spacious and toiletries were well-stocked and great quality (all Malin+Goetz!). Super close to restaurants, bars, and the town, where parking is difficult (so being able to walk was a big perk!). Only negatives (and they were very minor) were the missing water and coffeemaker in the room, and the difficulty in understanding the instructions for the shower head.

We stayed in the Yakima suite which is on the very top of this classically fun looking building. The suite was equipped with a kitchenette, wrap around deck with sun chairs, fireplace, and entertainment system. And if that wasn't enough, the bed was tucked away in a cove that has a skylight for looking at the stars. One of the best things about this suite is that directly below the room is a bakery and cafe that serves fresh pastries and coffee from early in the morning till the evening. All the perks of a bed and breakfast without having to check in and out with anyone. I would definitely recommend this place for a weekend getaway with your loved one, or rent out the site below as well for a big group of friends to enjoy all that Friday Harbor has to offer.

All the little details have been thawed out from the entryway right to the bathroom. We are in Friday Harbor Friday. Harbor has a reputation and it is not inexpensive to be in this area so don't be surprised by price stickers if you shop around. You get what you pay for here they give you a lot of class along with a good product. The animals were so adorable and friendly. My only con was our initial impression of the room as it did not have a TV. But as our stay went on, we thoroughly enjoyed not having a TV in the room, it allowed us to disconnect more and take in the beauty of the island and surroundings. They do have a family/tv room, but we never felt the need to turn it on. This B&B offers four different rooms, one with a private bath and three that share two bathrooms. All of the rooms are sparkling clean, extremely comfortable, and beautifully sunlit (and have lovely views). The 1895 farmhouse is a stunner, and you might recognize its photo because it was on the cover of a seed catalog in 2001! The real highlight of this place is the breakfast. There's an onsite chicken coop, and the eggs will be fresh, as in this-morning fresh, and oh my, they are FANTASTIC. And Christian is also a talented baker of buttermilk biscuits. They are just a few miles away from the island's farmers' market, so fresh fruit and vegetables either come from their garden or a neighbor's, essentially. No children, no smoking, no pets... it's a quiet nirvana. And it's cheap in the winter, all rooms $99/night, and as their website says, free hugs from the innkeepers too. :-) They are delightful, trusting and gentle people, and you will feel refreshed if you accept their hospitality.

It is located on Cattle Point very near to several great beaches and American Camp, part of San Juan National Historic Park. By car it's about 10 minutes from Friday Harbor. Its hosts are Christian and Lea Andrade, two of the friendliest and kindest people we know. The inn is located in a historic farmhouse and the rooms are all well-maintained and comfortable. Our favorite is the Garden Room located off the kitchen. The breakfasts consist of a smoothie, a fruit dish, a baked egg dish and baked goods like biscuits or muffins. Everything is always delicious. Although there is a lot to do on San Juan Island, we always take time to relax at the inn and enjoy the peace and quiet on their pretty deck or on the grounds with beautiful flower gardens, yard art, and a chicken coop populated by lots of hens. We also enjoy visiting with the hosts, who are very knowledgeable about the island. Whether it's helping you plan a trek to the beach, identifying a particular type of owl you saw perched on a street sign, or inviting you to listen to them as they practice with their wonderful marimba band, the Andrades are at the top of our list for B&B hosts. We can't wait for our next visit!

Reserved a room for a special trip this Spring. Some time later they decide to have a "policy" of a…read morethree night minimum (even though it's not mentioned literally anywhere). They emailed to cancel our reservation. If the 3-night minimum had been a condition listed in the booking, we would understand. But it wasn't. When we told them it's not written anywhere and they had already accepted our booking, they changed their strategy and said they now (suddenly) can't rent the room we want due to CoVid. (Even though it's still posted as available). They blame the county health dept. we were unable to find any information about this restriction and still can't find a place (other than their email after we booked) that lists a three night minimum. Although they were cordial about it, I can't recommend doing business with them, since they change their policies at random. Hard to plan a trip when it seems like they will cancel your reservation to chase a bigger check.

Laura owns and runs the B&B and she is so kind and an amazing cook! She cooked us two of the best, most delicious breakfasts I have ever eaten. Her berry stuffed pancakes with her grandmother's special cream syrup is absolutely delicious!! My husband and I highly recommend a couple of nights on the boat. It's an adventure and out if the ordinary. Laura is a great hostess and you will have a memory that will last a lifetime.
