It has been awhile since my last review and today I had a great dental cleaning by Delia who is a fabulous dental hygenist. There was no pain and when Delia was done my smile sparkled. She is super nice and we always exchange stories about our families. Dr Nick came by and we talked about our families (see the trend) and then he went over my current dental situation which was great. No issues whatsoever. Amazing what has happened in three years. From bad dental health to a new smile and healthy mouth. Thanks to Dr Nick, Delia, Debbie and the rest of the Sunbow family. You really feel comfortable and at home getting dental work done. Sunbow Family Dentistry is the standard by which all health and dental care providers should be judged. The ladies at the front desk (hi, Christina and Debbie!) are knowledgeable and friendly. There is no snootiness at this office. You are not a bother, and you'll never be made to feel that you are an imposition. They are very knowledgeable about dental benefits, will maximize and coordinate yours (if you have two or more) and are forthcoming what you will need pay. There are no hidden costs. If you have any questions, you just need to ask! You'll always be welcomed by name at each appointment. And guess what? YOU'LL NEVER HAVE TO WAIT LONGER THAN TWO MINUTES! They are prompt -- so prompt you won't have long to read the People magazine you've been dying to read (darn it!). The hygienists and dental assistants are very awesome. (Hi, Annel, Sloan and Paulette!) Once, a temporary crown popped off several times over the winter holidays -- Debbie called me back while she was on vacation, and Annel came in on New Year's Eve to re-affix it! Dr. Addario is knowledgeable, capable and thorough. He is patient-focused (as opposed to profit-focused), has an excellent bedside manner, and will make sure that you are thoroughly educated about your dental health. There are thousands upon thousands of great dentists on this planet. Dr. Addario is one of them but this is not what distinguishes his practice from the millions of other dental care providers out there. He has an impeccable approach to each of his patients. He tailors his demeanor and treatment to each individual person as if they were just that, an individual. I can't begin to tell you how big of a difference this makes in healthcare. He has my utmost respect and gratitude. I and my family will be with Sunbow Dentistry for the rest of our lives. I and my family have been back to Sunbow Family Dentistry many times this year. We've referred a half dozen of our friends as well. We have all had very positive experiences with Dr. Addario and his staff. I've read some of the other reviews here and I think they are way off-base. Dentists, like Dr. Addario, certified by the Board of Cosmetic Dentistry, are rare and they aren't cheap. And I don't want them to be. That said, Sunbow Family Dentistry isn't expensive either, I think they could easily charge much more for the high quality care and services they provide. Dr. Addario is also better than any pediatric dentist I've ever known. And he doesn't brag about it or market it. I was a patient of Dr. Addario's for a few years before a change of insurance policy forced me to look elsewhere. I went several years going from one dentist to another before I gave up and went back to Dr. Addario. There are many reasons why I came back: 1. I love the personal touch. A little goes a loooong way with me. They always remember my face and my name, even if I have trouble remembering theirs. Everytime I walk into their office, I am greeted warmly using my name. They remember little details about my wife/kids that I don't even remember telling them. 2. The detail they put into collecting and/or building your dental history is great. When I first visited Dr. Addario, I was a little bummed that they could not clean my teeth right away, but I quickly bought into the process and I am glad I stuck with them. There is no pressure to do one procedure vs. another. There are always options, including the option of NOT doing anything. I appreciate that they do their best to arm me with their best recommendation and I can make an informed decision on my own time. 3. Dental hygienists. I have worked with 3 of them, and I prefer Antoinette, but I have had great experiences with all 3. In my experiences, I have spent the same, if not more time, with the dental hygienist, as compared with Dr. Addario. I'm big on dental hygienist that are gentle and not robotic, especially when putting a bunch of instruments in my mouth. I'm even a bigger fan when they make the x-rays bearable, as I gag pretty easily. 4. In-mouth camera. I love how Dr. Addario explains what's working right and what's not working right in my mouth without getting too technical. I clearly understand where I need to improve my brushing/flossing. 5. Finally, I really do feel they are not out there looking to just make a buck at their patients' expense. They truly want you to take care of your teeth as best as you can. I think if I moved up north, I would still make the drive down to Chula Vista to see Dr. Addario. Keep up the great work Sunbow Dentistry! read more

I have been going to Sunbow Family Dentistry for many years. Dr. Nick Addario and his entire staff are truly wonderful. In 2003 my husband and I moved out of the Chula Vista area and up to Poway, but I refuse to see anyone else. I make the drive down to Chula Vista for all of my dental work because I value Dr. Nick's opinions and expertise, and I have FULL confidence that I will receive excellent treatment and results every single time - bottom line. Not to mention that he and his staff treat me (and every other patient I've seen walk through his doors) with such a high level of service excellence that you don't experience much these days. They greet you with a smile, know you by first name, and do their absolute best to make you feel at home and comfortable. I feel like a valued client each time. I see Dr. Nick for my regular 6-month cleanings, but he has also assisted me with a handful of small cavities over the years, and has also helped me to transform my smile (and increase my confidence ten fold!) with a little bit of cosmetic dentistry, too! My father also sees Dr. Nick and is undergoing the Invisalign treatment. He is almost done, and WOW! The results are already tremendous! My dad is so happy with the results, and just raves about Dr. Nick and his staff all the time (which says a lot - my dad is very particular and expects a lot!). Normally, I dislike going to any doctor's or dentist office but everyone at Sunbow Dentisty is really nice and friendly. They're straight up and honest. A bit pricey but it's quality work. Me and my Fiance have been in search for a good Dentist for quite a while now. We've moved to different locations but we always end up with the wrong one. Most of them are all for the money. They take x-ray looked at your teeth for a little bit and would recommend a bunch of stuff without even explaining whats wrong with you're teeth and why are they recommending that certain procedure and if there's any alternative way that wouldn't cost a lot, because most of their recommendations cost $$$$ thousand of dollars. They even suggested taking out my teeth at a younger age. It was horrifying. But finally I think and hope that our search is over. Dr. Tillman recommended Dr. Nick Addario to me and he said he is one of the Doctors that I would put my name on and so I scheduled my self an appt. and my fiance. I spoke with Debbie. Debbie the receptionist was really friendly and nice. She had explained everything that we needed to do prior to the appointment and sent us all the forms to be filled out in order to expedite the process of seeing the Dr. right away and get in contact with the insurance for proper billing. They even sent me a text reminder and a courtesy call to make sure I will show up. And as soon as I entered the office I felt welcomed, greeted with my name and they even remembered my fiance who had an earlier appointment than me and Debbie remembered where I worked (a conversation we had over the phone). Those simple things that made you feel important because they know some information about you and from there you can have small talks and they don't just treat you like a patient but like a family/friend. Office was very organized and clean. They even have some bottled water and coffee. I didn't even wait for a long time. My hygienist Paulette did a very very good job. Thumbs up! Hands down! She was very thorough on cleaning my teeth didn't stop until she gets everything out. She took her time and didn't rush. I can really feel that they care about my teeth and me and not the money. Very informative when she was giving me teachings and info about my gums and teeth. Chair was comfortable and cozy. There where TV in front of you and above you so you wont get bored. Dr. Addario truly the BEST so far. We were just looking for a good Dentist but we found the BEST one so far. I know maybe this is too early for me to say since this is my first time but the vibe and feel was different. He was very friendly, made sure he knows your name, who your related to before he comes and see you. Listens to your concerns and focuses from there. Not pushy, very professional, funny and he prioritize on whats important to you and what needs to be addressed immediately. In all fairness to Dr Addario he did revised my bill to $484, it was only for the root canal since he said he won't charge me for the composite filling. That was convincing the least. Just wonder if it was done if i didn't compain right?! Anyway,Crown was not done though i know needed it, have to go somewhere else coz their price was way too high for me. Just feel sorry for this guy coz he looked up too much for his staff more than his customers, like they never did any mistake. Like what i said when i chipped temp filling and asked if it was ok, cristina said she'll call after asking Dr Nick, did i get the call back? No! It was not a big deal but as a customer, i deserve courtesy. I am writing this in all honesty. Everyone has their side of story so its all up to u fellow yelpers to decide. I don't want to ruin any business just my POV and for them to realize that staff could change the story and cover their butt since its their job they want to keep! But there is always room for improvement and i believe their working on that right now. read more

Well, this is my honest assessment of this dental office after having gone here many times. First, one of the reasons I decided to switch to this dental office was that I liked what Dr. Addario says in his website video..."no one here is a number and we know everybody by their first name......our goal is to see one patient at a time....etc etc.." The first visit was impressive. I felt very welcomed. The doctor and everybody in the office called me by my first name. The doctor had all the time to spend with me as a patient without feeling rushed. However, over the course of my subsequent visits, things had changed. Nobody, including the doctor, called me by my first name. Also, most of my visits, the doctor seemed to be in a rush, trying to accommodate the other patients in the other rooms or seemed preoccupied worrying for the next patients already waiting in the lobby. I guess they always seem to overbook patients at any given time. It just gave me an impression that this dental office is no different from all the others that I had been, where they seem to function like in a production-like setting. The quality of work is just ok. The dental office, however, is very nice. And the doctor as well as his staff are all nice. I am giving 2 1/2 stars since, honestly, this office is neither the best nor the worst. And there is always room for improvement read more
