It's only breakfast. Hash browns were very hood. Scrambled eggs were fine as well. I ordered a side if a biscuit and gravy. It was milk gravy as expected, but very very thick almost the consistency of ice cream and the biscuit was not split in half, just a big hunk under that thick glob. The link sausage looked good but unfortunately it was cold. Wife had poached eggs on an English muffin and corned beef hash.. She loved the hash but the muffin wasn't toasted as she thought it would be. We were there at 1:30 on Sunday and waited almost 30 minutes for a table. This place hasn't been open very long and maybe just a lot trying out the new place. It has about 15 tables and room for 4 at the bar (not an alcohol bar). Meals average $12 to $13, with a M-F only menu of $8.99 meals. We had water and the bill was $27 plus tax. The service was exceptional and the atmosphere was very nice. So I would say better than average but there are no 3 1/2 star ratings. read more

I can't believe there is not MORE reviews for this place! I found out about it on Leander's Facebook page. It is located in a very small strip mall next to Walgreens on Crystal Falls Parkway and Bagdad road. They need to put out a flag type thing to get people to see it. It is definatly worth finding! My husband and I came in on Sunday morning, and saw a table full of firemen. That right there is a good testament. They were eating before their shift began, and heard them compliant this place to the waitress. Inside it is a small place, maybe like 10 booths and 10 tables in middle. It does a "bar" -counter type seating which seats like 5, I think. They don't serve alcohol, I just saw coffee machines behind counter. We sat at table in middle of restaurant. Only thing I did not like, just my personal preferance was all the ceiling fans. I was a little cold, but did not want to mention, as I am sure as day rolls along, those will be much appreciated. Our hostess was smiling and very gracious! Our waitress seemed a little nervous when my husband had a question about an item on the menu. Both of us ordered an omelete. He got the corn beef hash, which contains the corned beef, peppers, onions, your choice of cheese and hash browns (*Comes inside,,see picture,,no hasbrowns on the side). I misread the menu and thought you got a "choice of meat" with cheese...and the she said, "no it had ALL meats" and then choice of cheese. I don't usually go for "all", but, went ahead and ordered it. Now, if you look at both pictures of our omeletes, and mine is flat and his is more raised. I think because his has the hashbrowns in it. Our waitress was very attentive and refilled our coffee regularly. Only negative was both mine and my husband's toast was over toated. Just what we have been needing! We had noticed this new breakfast place in a location that once was home to an Italian restaurant that we had enjoyed. They got rid of all the dark wood inside and gave the place a white, bright, cheerier interior which makes from a good start for a busy day. There is a counter with seating, too, which appeals to me for sure as I am sometimes eating alone. We were seated immediately and handed their extensive menu which featured both breakfast and lunch offerings all day long. I usually frown at larger menus because it's tough to keep it all fresh, rotated and on hand but this guy is smart. Many of the menu items are used in numerous dishes so as a former Sous Chef (i.e. fancy for glorified short order cook), I could see the sense in all of the variety. We were also thrilled to see some familiar servers that we love which were at another nearby 6am-2pm place where thier new management had recently cleaned house. It's their loss and Nick's gain because Miranda and Shelly are some of the best servers I've ever known and whose service I enjoyed. My wife in typical form had a Burger and Fries with which she was very satisfied, satiated and happy. I had the Housemade Corned Beef Hash, Eggs and Potato Cakes (i.e. Latkes) with Rye Toast. It was absolutely stellar, way better than that other place. The Latkes spoke to my inner New Yorker as I am Brooklyn born and of Jewish blood, so he lobed one right across the plate for me. My Coffee was very nicely complimented with choices of Half & Half, or flavored creamers. My brother had a Breakfast Skillet served as such along with Potato Cakes and his perfunctory side of Bacon (3 or 6 slices, it's your call) which was also well received. Nick doesn't hide in the kitchen although he oversees the whole show then he cordially works the room making sure everyone is happy and satisfied. Nick's has become our new breakfast, lunch, brunch go to, in fact, we are heading there today so I can try thier Reuben Sandwich. That Corned Beef was so good, I know it will rock. We went Sunday morning and were seated immediately. Staff were super friendly and attentive. All of the menu looked so good it was hard to decide. I ended up getting the mushroom Swiss burger and french fries absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of scrambled eggs, he said the biscuits were so fluffy and fresh. Nick's popped up on my feed, as I am always looking for another local diner to tryout. After seeing pics and reading reviews I had to give a shot. Gotta love local diners as not only is the food scrumptious but I can guarantee you will not leave hungry. The menu has a lot of breakfast items, from omelettes to skillets and pancakes and French toast. I ordered a plate that came with 3 eggs scrambled, hash browns, slice of ham, breakfast sausage, bacon, and two pieces of toasts with jam. At first I didn't think this wasn't going to do the job so I ordered a pancake on the side. When the plate arrived with a ton of food and then the toast and then the pancake I was flipping out. But I dug in, enjoyed the fluffy eggs, crispy yet tender hash browns, savory sausage and bacon. It was delicious and the toast was a helpful tool to scoop up the eggs and hash browns. But there it was, a pancake with a scoop of butter already melting down on top just challenging me to eat it. I grabbed some syrup and pour a bit on top, cut a piece just to try it. Let's just say I ate it all and I was hurting on my way out stuffed to the gills. Luckily the waitstaff offered me a cup of coffee to go to help settle my fullness. Only thing to mention is that one pancake was almost $3 and it wasn't a big flapjack. For that price, IMO, the pancake should be as big as the plate. Other than that, give Nick's a try. They have perfected the simple breakfast foods. Pancakes were perfect, link sausage was delicious (and I'm usually not a fan,) portions were generous. They have a wide variety of breakfast options but we chose a plate off of their $8.99 breakfast specials (8am-11am). The customer service was outstanding and the staff was very attentive and polite. The one recommendation that I would like to suggest is the addition of a baby changing station and a small step stool for little children to wash their hands. read more

I've eaten at Nick's several times. I like their breakfasts, but recently their service has been lacking. They haven't been topping off the coffee, the meal portions have been smaller, and the billing has been inconsistent. This morning had a mocha coffee (served in regular mug (small)) -- listed at $5.75, but it was charged as $5.75 plus $.85 for mocha sauce. I never asked for "mocha sauce" but charged for it anyway -- surprise, extraneous charge. These nuances have me questioning future patrionage. read more

This place was packed when I went to pick up our food-a line of people waiting out the door. It took about 45 mins to get which is a little long in my opinion, but alas we were excited to try everything. We ordered some meat lovers omelettes,pancakes with chocolate chips, and some french toast. While the eggs were good-a nice hearty portion , the hash browns and toast were very underwhelming. The hash browns came out soggy and didn't have any flavor, and our sourdough bread was inedible-hard as bricks. The pancakes and french toast were good, but the pancakes had way too many chocolate chips in my opinion-it seemed like a full bag of chocolate chips were poured on there, ha! Overall, pretty average breakfast-wasn't my favorite. I'm going to chalk it up to an off day and getting food to go. I'd be willing to try again in person at the restaurant in the future. read more

I went this past Saturday to check it out. I wrote my name down at the sign-in sheet, was told 45 minutes, which is fine. After waiting for 10 mins outside I walked back inside to take a look myself to see how the turnover was going, and to look at the sign-in sheet to see how many were ahead of us. I was asked by one of the waitresses or one of the hosts what I need - I told them I have my name down already and that I was just taking a look. She then told me loudly literally so that everyone could hear "YOU WAIT OUTSIDE NOT INSIDE!" Well, I listened. I went outside, into my car, and drove to another brunch place nearby with nicer and more hospitable staff. This staff member was an older lady with glasses - maybe it's just she communicates but yeah, no need to yell at your customers. read more
