I don't get it. They totally nailed the concept of an 80's Pizza pub. Down to the red and white tiles and arcade in the back. The bartenders were upbeat, fun and on point. But the food sucks! We ordered the antipasto salad; I think Wawa could make a better version than they have here. The 16" pepperoni pizza was dry. Tasteless, and dough was overworked so it was so chewy it was practically inedible. Why are people waiting for hours out side of this place? I hate to experience a meal so bad that I have to leave a one star review to warn others. Sadly tonight was one of those meals. My daughter had been hearing rave reviews about Nick's and wanted to try it out. So, we went over and were seated with minimal wait. We were given our menus and we ordered drinks. We decided on the bruschetta as an appetizer. The dipping sauces sounded quite interesting. For the main meal, I decided on a pepperoni cheesesteak with fried onions and my daughter chose a tomato pie. The order went in and then our waitress came back to tell us that they were out of dough for the tomato pie. And suggested a larger pizza that was twice the price. She ended up going with the meatball appetizer. That order went in and my steak sandwich was served. Somehow they forgot the appetizer. So, now I have my main dish and the waitress comes out again to tell us...no meatballs. So, my daughter is now deciding on a third option of chicken tenders. We finally found something that was on the menu and available to be served. Other than the waitress coming back to tell us that things were out of stock, she never checked on us once, or we would have been able to tell her that the appetizer was never served. Sadly, there are other issues to share. On my meal, the steak sandwich was about 7 inches in size and the cost was 16.50. I get it that prices are going up. But the sandwich was rather small for the price. But here is where it gets crazy. I asked for pepperoni on my sandwich. I received 4 penny sized pieces of pepperoni. And on my bill I saw $1.50. WOW !! Then I saw 50 cents charged for fried onions. And then I saw a 1 dollar charge for cherry peppers on the side. If you are going to nickel and dime me, please let me know and I can decide if I really want that item. This is a pizza shop. To run out of dough is unacceptable. The sandwich was meh. And sadly I won't be going back anytime soon. And I'm not on the bandwagon for this reasonably new pizza shop in Wilmington. My recommendation is to avoid it. read more

There was a lot of excitement that Nick's was coming to north Wilmington. We tried to get in a few times, but we didn't want to wait in line. Now that it's been open for a while, we have been there a few times. We tried the Detroit and grandma pizzas and were not impressed by either one. However, on our last visit we tried the cheesesteak, and it was one of the best I have eaten. I will return for a cheesesteak. I wish there was a 3.5 rating. read more

The cooper sharp sticks and pizza are delicious. The cheesesteak is the best I have ever had. I just wish that the wine wasn't so marked up. We got to try some of the wines at the Swigg tasting and they were delicious. Been a couple times and got some take out. Love the Detroit, love the grandma, haven't tried the basic round but i like the other two too much! Pepperoni Detroit extra cheese and grandma with the homemade meatballs were both insanely good. Went off my pizza and got a cheesesteak which is easily one of the best, if not the best, I've had in town. Also good drinks and nice service. I know the wait has been a thing, but I went for dinner and had to wait maybe 10 minutes which was fine went again around 4 something and zero wait, walked right in and sat at the bar. I've also tried the foccasia dippers, meatball app and Cooper cheddar cheese sticks. Dippers were good, but whatever, meatballs great, cheese sticks good, a little much for me, but everyone I've talked loves them so I think thats a me issue. If you're into pizza that haves no flavor and burnt, this is the place! Lol, tried to give it a second shot, maybe just don't come on a weekend, few of our appetizers gone missing. the antipasto salad is a lie, the ingredients listed is not what you get. although the house made dressing was great. The cheese steaks are Good, but definitely overpriced and better ones in the area, this is a bread overload type of place. Not much cheese, not much toppings on our other pizzas, tried telling our server about it but she was gas lighting us LOL! The second time around we was confused of how burnt out pizza was, the girl manger told us it's supposed to be like that, the waiter was like nah, they definitely overcooked it. That was on st Patrick's, figured it was a holiday so we let it slide... but yeah.. maybe they can't handle the high demand. Hopefully they'll get more help. Cute old school atmosphere, staff was friendly unfortunately pizza left a lot to be desired. We ordered a 16 in pepperoni pizza. It was dry and burnt. Literally zero flop, it was like cardboard. I wanted to send it back, but my husband said it actually says on the menu that pizza comes out well done. This was such a disappointment, it was actually the worst pizza I've ever had( frozen pizza is better). Oh well, you live and you learn. Great menu backed up by great food. Yes it gets crowded and you may have to wait a little longer for a refill or for your food to be ready but it is worth the wait. I'd give them 4.5 stars if possible. read more

We ordered a chicken bacon ranch pizza and it took forever. Service was bad, and the pizza was EXTREMELY BURNT!!! There is a place across the street, V&M Bistro that makes delicious pizza, go there instead. Nick's is not worth it all around. read more
