I love this spot! If I leave this neighborhood, I'm still returning here for breakfast. They have managed to keep the plates full and the prices low. This little coffee shop is amazing food is great!! It has delicious food. A lot of good choices and healthy options too. You can tell the food is fresh and clean. It is very affordable prices are not super expensive like other places. My favorite meal is eggs because I just love the home fries. They are nicely seasoned and cook to perfection. Local cafe with decent breakfast. I usually order omelets, veggie to be specific and it's well prepared with veggie variety. The turkey sausage is nasty, disgusting, unsatisfying. When I called to tell them how unacceptable this food is, two different people said "that's how it is". This sausage was over cooked and dry. Obviously this is not my first time having turkey sausage and look at the picture, no this is not "how it is". Like it's been cooked and recooked. Smh! While waiting for friends to arrive via the metro north to botanical garden I grabbed some breakfast nearby at nicks garden coffee shop and this simple no frill old school diner was just what I needed. Typical diner breakfast and lunch menu and at 845am , eggwhites with turkey sausage, homefries , whole wheat toast dry is my happy meal . No qualms about my breakfast as it was tasty and filling for under 20 bucks including tip . Staff are quick and friendly , place is clean and regardless if you are sitting at the counter or at a booth you will get a good bang for your buck . Not to many of these old school diners are still around so finding one is worth the visit . read more

Reminds me of college when I'd stumble down the street to my local breakfast spot for an egg and cheese after a long night. Unlike said college spot, Nick's did not bake a pube into the bread! Success! Grab a quickie here before heading to the botanical gardens where the food is scarce, overpriced, and takes far too long to get. I think i paid like $3 for an egg and cheese on a roll. Basic but hits the spot and is everything you can expect. The muffins here looked mouth watering but sadly had to pass as I'm walking a fine line between thicc and fluffy rn. It's small, cheap, has an "A," serves typcial coffee shop/ diner food and it's good as hell. Everything I look for. I had a cheeseburger deluxe. It was damned good! I find the high reviews of this place hilarious. I don't mean to insult the fine people in this establishment, but c'mon people!! 5 stars, really?!? The Bronx must have some really crappy food if you think this is a 5 star joint. The food gets two stars at best, but I'll add an extra one for the friendly staff. The dining area is small and dirty and isn't good for large groups. I had a Philly cheesesteak and a Gatorade. It cost me $9.98, pretty affordable but not worth the money in my opinion. The steak was over cooked. I mean, really over cooked. The bread was extra crispy. I guess a slice of unmelted Kraft cheese is better than no cheese at all? I hate that I don't have many nice things to say being that it was my first time here. But all I know is that I won't return. The high reviews here perplex me. I have been going here for years, and every time I go it is only because there is literally no other place I walk by on my way to the train where I can quickly get breakfast made. The lady that works the register is pretty rude, really. Never a friendly hello or thank you, only monotone and short. The man that I am assuming is her husband seems much nicer but he doesn't deal directly with customers as much. This place will make 2 eggs on a croissant with a cup of coffee very quickly, and for a fair price. Other than that fact it is nothing special. The food is very average. This places is pretty bad. I work close to here and never go here. i used to go every now and then for a bagel and iced coffee, but i don't even go there for that any more. The everything bagel tastes as good as a frozen bagel you would buy from the supermarket. The iced coffee tastes as if they haven't cleaned the coffee pot in years. The hamburger which i had once, is as hard as hockey puck But, the main reason i would never go back again is one time i was in the bathroom at my job and the delivery guy came in and used the bathroom and after he was done he walked right out, without washing his hands. read more

I don't know about Nick's lunch food, but I do know that breakfast sandwiches, bagels, muffins, and coffee are all great and super affordable here. Friendly service is sometimes lacking, but to be fair, the main lady who takes orders is usually swamped with phone calls for delivery. I enjoy their homemade bagels with cream cheese and their coffee. Credit Card minimum seems to be $10, but they'll deliver (in a range) just a coffee and muffin, if you want. This is one of Bedford Park's little-known secrets, a miniscule, unassuming but top-notch diner that puts practically all the breakfast offered in the area to shame. It's a very unusual and skippable location and the backdrop is as no-frills as it gets. It's not open late. The boss (I think she's the boss anyway) is aggressive and attractive in equal measure. The waiter who's usually there is one of the nicest I know. Their chef is unstoppable. I don't go for diner food a lot, I eat relatively healthy, but I break it for this place. Their cheddar grits are some of the best I've eaten in NYC, they plate your meal LIGHTNING quick and their entire breakfast menu will not disappoint you, guaranteed. Even the muffins are excellent and it's hard to pass on one of their grilled blueberry with butter. Again, it's very no-frills. You'd walk by this place a hundred times and not give a second thought. But once you start going you'll find the best breakfast nook in this part of the Bronx. Always fast, courteous and consistent in quality. Grateful they are close to my job. I always get delivery, so it is important that the business is timely because my lunchtime is limited.
