Prices can not be beat! Definitely worth the drive to Sunland, particularly for trees and mature succulents that are extremely expensive at other nurseries. Due to its proximity, C&S Nursery in Culver City has always been my nursery of choice. Their prices are competitive but not nearly as good as Nick's. All the staff members at Nick's are very friendly. Carlos in particular is very knowledgeable. I only knocked off a star because there are no signs identifying any of the specimens throughout the lot. Some of their plants also show signs of stress and not as healthy as other nurseries, but if you have time and browse around their immense lot, you'll likely find some good healthy ones at terrific prices. read more

With the recent Covid disaster and everyone staying home, gardening has become a favorite pastime. I found out about this place because my parents bought be some berry shrubs from here (blueberry raspberry and blackberry) after planting my gifts I was inspired to go for more so I got the address and headed there. Wow this place is huge and so busy. They have everything. I bought a bunch of succulents roses and succulents. The guys are so helpful, they even took me around in a gold cart because the space is so big, they don't want you walking forever. Besides that, they have every type of planting mix you can think of, each special for the different types of plants I bought. Was in the market for a couple of fruit trees. Home Depot and Lowe's each want nearly $70 for a 3 foot tree. Got an 8-10 footer at Nick's for the same price. You even get a knowledgeable salesman to help you out. Good luck with that at the big box store. They'll load it in your car or truck and you don't leave with a bad taste in your mouth. Have been to Nick's a couple of times, it was recommended to me by the guy who put my lawn in. He said they had the best prices and who know what? They do. I've checkout other nurseries closer to home that other yelpers have said were super inexpensive and I have to say, if you want inexpensive you HAVE to go to the valley. Example 15-gallon Ficus Benjamin. Armstrong Garden $129, one nearby nursery highly reviewed on Yelp sells them for $50, but at Nicks it's $35. You see? Pretty much sums it up, no? The nursery is really rather large and if you have a large enough order they will deliver for a small fee (depends on how far you live from them). My landscaper recommended this nursery to me so I drove down from Santa Clarita. On my first visit, Juan took me on a golf cart tour of the nursery listening to what I wanted and making recommendations on trees, perennials and hedges. I visited two more times and Nicholas, Juan and Edwin always had answers and recommendations. I started knowing nothing about what I wanted but with their guidance was able to get a good variety of plants in a vibrant color scheme for my front yard.
