When I drove here, I was created by Anthony Gardner, a cheery, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and helpful guy who showed real interest in my needs. But there must've been some pesticide overspray on the plants from Monarca because my caterpillars all died. I watched some of them twitching violently before they died. I visited this nursery once before and was impressed by the large number of milkweed plants in stock. The owner even showed me a green Monarch chrysalis that was attached ito a piece of drip tubing. I didn't even think about the pesticide aspect until my caterpillars died. If you don't care whether or not they use pesticides then sho here but if you're trying to raise Monarch caterpillars, then you should go contact the people at This Is a Monarchy, which is up in Thousand Oaks. These people are very careful even about the fertilizer they use and use zero pesticides. You have to call them and make an appointment because it's a private residence. They're the ones who told me what probably happened to my poor caterpillars. I still feel bad about them!

They were planted correctly and properly watered and fertilized. Vineland Nursery won't replace them because "they didn't grow them". The grower, they claim, is responsible, and mentioned that other customers had the same problem. This lack of due diligence in vetting the grower and their plants is unprofessional, and the onus is not on the customer. I expect full exchanges or a refund for my purchase.

I went in search of a eucalyptus tree for my side yard...On a referral, I found Nick's on Roscoe and was delighted with the service (I was driven back to the eucalyptus row) and the prices (9 footer for $35.00 Incredible savings versus other vendors..) They packed it in plastic, loaded in my van and I was on my way home in 20 minutes. Will definitely tell my homeowner friends about this jewel of a nursery! read more

Overall a great nursery. Small family owned and run. my wife and i were landscaping our new house and they had everything we needed, from the soil to the fruit trees, and some palms that were the same price as the ones at Home Depot, but almost twice as large and much healthier. Aside from the palms, everything else was MUCH cheaper than home depot. Great find. great quality. read more
