I came here with some friends and only ordered the side of sautéed spinach (I am vegan). I was served a plate of spinach swimming in olive oil. I have never sent a dish back in my life but this was inedible. Instead of preparing a new dish with less oil- they poured the oil out. I attached a picture. It was taken after they 'corrected' the dish. I tried eating it but it was way too oily and heavy. They were unapologetic and still charged me even though I was dissatisfied and could not eat the spinach. read more

Was disappointed in the linguine dishes. They either didn't taste right or the sauces were just not good. The Chicken Alfredo was decent and the sauce not too cheesy but was kind of blah. The shrimp and scallop scampi had sooooo much garlic it was overkill. Then the Shrimp Florentine was supposed to have a creamy marsala sauce but it tasted like orange marmalade. Actually could not each this dish and let them know and they insisted nothing was wrong with it and were really not nice about it. The portions are generous and the prices are decent but that doesn't work if you don't enjoy the food. The kids liked the pepperoni pizza. Wish we had tried someplace else. read more

Disappointing experience. Order via the phone for takeout. Antipasto salad, with italian dressing on the side, and a small ham and cheese calzone. I walked from the hotel, picked up my food and walked back. I had to go back in to grab some utensils because there weren't any in the bag and she didn't offer any when I picked up the food. The antipasto salad was served with a red pasta sauce (same sauce that came with the calzone). I called the restaurant and asked if that was what they usually served with a salad and the girl said no, apologized and told me I could return to get the Italian dressing that I had ordered. I was leaving for the airport and didn't have time to go back for the dressing. She apologized again and that was that. Overall the salad wasn't good anyway. Served with some below average cold cuts, wrinkled/old cherry tomatoes and bag lettuce. The calzone was average, although it contained the same sub-par thick-sliced ham that was on the salad. The inside was filled with mozzarella and ricotta cheeses. The dough wasn't bad and the sauce was OK. The best part was the little garlic roll that they had in a bowl by the register. It was cold but by far the tastiest thing that I had. Two stars for average food and below average attention to detail. read more

The food is outstanding and generous portions as well. The waitress was super friendly and the owner Nick has been doing the restaurant for 33 years. He has gotten better with age the food is absolutely delicious! My grandson had blackened salmon with mashed potatoes and fresh green beans generous portion and he said this is how they cook in Italy! He's been there! I had the chicken parmesan which was smothered in mozzarella and the sauce is delicious! My BF had shrimp and scallops in a cream sauce and it was absolutely outstanding! The salad was nice size and delicious as well as the fresh baked bread which we all absolutely loved! Add olive oil with herbs in for dipping as well as butter. We had lunch for the next day and we were stuffed when we left. Nick still got it and this restaurant is absolutely a gym! Much better than some other better known Italian restaurants in downtown Bethlehem! read more

I come here whenever I need my bike fixed up at the nearby Action Wheels bike shopped. These are perhaps the best slices in the Bethlhem area. I should try Rosanna's and other places first before I make these generalities, but bear with me here - I will eventually. I know I said the same thing about Lehigh Pizza's slices. I guess what I meant was that Lehigh had the best "New York Style" crispiness and heft. So far, Nick's slices have the best flavor - the sauce is very tasty and 'alive' and the cheese is good. As close to "New York Style" flavor as you can get around here. If only they can combine Lehigh's crispiness and heft with Nick's. Nick's doesn't use enough dough in their slices. Nor do they cook their pizzas crisply enough. Make those changes, and Nick's will be overwhelmingly on top of the slice pyramid in Bethlehem. Just wish this place weren't in such a remote location - I don't fix my bike THAT often. Again, I have to review the other pizzerias first. More to come. About once a month i drive about 10 minutes to this place for a buffalo chicken cheese steak Stromboli. They have always been VERY good. Even the blue cheese was exceptional for a restaurant. Lately something happened. The blue cheese is being watered down, it should not pour out of the cup. The chicken is scarce inside compared to past. LOTS of bread with no filling. Maybe they are experiencing hard times and taking short cuts, but i believe this is my last visit. read more

We've always been happy with the food we get from Nick's. We generally always get take out, but the people and service have always been pleasant. I like both their Sicilian and regular pizza, and I also enjoy their cheesesteak - although it can be quite messy to eat. It is fairly small on the inside, so when it's busy it's fairly cramped even when you are just there to pickup. Overall, it's decent food at a decent price. When not packed, it seems like a nice little place to sit down and eat your meal. read more

Last night my cousin ordered their pizza, a plain and a vegetable, along with a mozzarella dish. It was picked up promptly and brought to the house. The vegetables were presumably raw and the mozzarella was cold. My cousin made a phone call to see if we could sort it out because obviously that's unacceptable. She was greeted on the phone by a girl with a severe attitude problem, arguing that our food was in fact not messed up, and that we were in fact lying. The phone was then handed to the owner, Nick, who is one of the most ignorant people I've dealt with. He argued with us for five minutes on the phone, talking very unprofessionally and seemingly ghetto. Finally we were told we could get our order fixed, but we had to bring our old order back. Whatever. When we traded off the good pizza for the bad, everyone in that store was ignorant between the side comments and the scowls. It was very uncomfortable and embarrassing to even walk in and get out order fixed. I've never dealt with such unprofessionalism from a bussiness in my life. We are paying customers and Nick personally did not want to fix a mistake that was made, expecting us to in turn eat cold and undercooked food. This place is a swing and a miss... mostly a miss! The service is slow and unfriendly. One lady who's been working there a long time smokes outside and comes to the table and smells bad of cigarette smoke. They charge for refills and the owner is nasty and often yelling in front of the customers. It can be extremely noisy. Forget about take out when you call to order owner responds and basically hangs up on you. Too many choices to have to deal with a owner and waitresses that are rude and unprofessional. read more

I was impressed with this family pizza place. I was there for a MNO with some friends. A friend ordered a bunch of dishes for us to share and everything was great! There were 11 of us there and the food was devoured. We had the Baked Ziti, Chicken Quesadillas, Antipasto, Caprese Salad and an alfredo pasta with chicken. The ziti was my favorite! It had a light, sweet sauce. Best ziti I've had - I'm still craving it! The Chicken Quesadillas were excellent. Not usually my thing, but I loved them. They had chicken, cheese, bacon and onion in them. Delish. I also had a yummy martini - Nick's Chocolate Martini. The wine was the only thing I was disappointed with - I tried the Pinot Grigio offered. Not good. The staff was great! We were there on a snow day and squeezed our cars into the lot. The BEST Italian restaurant around. They don't just serve Italian food either, they serve anything, including Greek stuff, and it is all homemade. They atmosphere is just like any other neighborhood pizza place, but what other pizza place will serve you homemade gnocchi in a pink sauce (they make their own sauces too). I have been going for about 4 years for almost every Friday. I know the owner Nick, who is an excellent guy who takes no crap in his kitchen when it comes to food and service. The eve of Thanksgiving 2011, my mother decided to order a cheesesteak Stromboli from Nick's Pizza Restaurant at 822 Main Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018. Or, so she thought! The first mistake was to unknowingly refer to it as a "Philly" cheesesteak Stromboli. Some restaurants will call the product a steakboli (Westgate Pizza, Bethlehem, PA), The Gladiator Philly Cheese Steak Stromboli (Amici's, Myrtle Bch), Phyllis Steak Stromboli (Vinito's, Alexandria, VA), or simply cheese steak Stromboli, just to mention a few. But if you ask for "Philly" cheesesteak Stromboli by any other name at Nick's, you will be sorry and leave $12.00 poorer. Back to the story, she asked for a "Philly" cheesesteak Stromboli and was told by the counter person waiting on her "we don't have those here". Instead of translating their menu item, into a "cheesesteak" Stromboli, which they do make, she described what later was found to be a cheese calzone?! Totally understandable, Stromboli.... calzone...sounds pretty much the same.....NOT. Beginning of dilemma.... So, my elderly mother believes the person assisting knows what she was trying to order and everything is handled. She was finally getting the cheese (steak) Stromboli, she wanted to order except it's called by another name she did not recognize. You see, she's never had a calzone before. Let alone a CHEESE calzone until she brought the food home. Immediately disappointed, confused and upset, she called Nick's to advise them of their error. She was informed that was what she ordered. My mother's getting more upset as begins to hear a chorus of employees in the background shouting out "that's what she ordered". Needless to say, she got nowhere and she needed to eat. (She's diabetic). I arrive home to see in her facial expression that something is wrong. So she tells me the story of the Philly cheesesteak Stromboli and that's why I'm telling you. I went pay a visit to Nick's and hoping that I could find a police officer before I went inside the restaurant. Well, I experienced in person, the exact same rude and threatening behavior from the staff as my mother had. The most shocking of all was that among the dissenters was Nicholas Bozakis, the owner. Who circled around me spouting well, that's what she ordered. He never once stopped circling me to deal directly, face-to-face to resolve my complaint. I tried to explain that the product received was not the intended to have been ordered. He displayed the same rudeness as his staff. Nicholas Bozakis could not have cared less if he upset an elderly person and now her daughter. His attitude and actions belayed and conveyed that fact. I asked him "What ever happened to customer service and the customer was always right?" His response, "If I go around giving people free food, I would go out of business!" I would have settled for getting my mother's money back. Customer service is dead at Nick's Pizza. The owner is despicable and disrespectful. If you advocate poor service and rude owner and staff........Nick's the place to go. As for my family and I, never again! Hope that he's not a member of Downtown Bethlehem Business Assoc. read more

We ordered a Sicilian pie tonight and it was Horrible!! Coming from an Italian family we have certain standards. Undercooked completely including the sauce... Cheese was barely melted with know golden brown spots at all!! You know it's bad when the sauce is cold... We also ordered garlic knots which weren't actually not knots!! Just stale bread baked with garlic burnt on top... Someone lost the definition of knot when putting this item on the menu... I've eaten here three separate times (not by my choice). The pasta was fair, sauce was burned, pizza looked old and lacked any crunch, and was overpriced. Air vents under the table made us all freezing. Lastly, a woman who knew or was related to the manager/owner/chef was sitting with her children yelling at them and him across the restaurant. They must take care of their staff as I recognize the faces from all those years ago that's remarkable. Visiting from Florida where great restaurants and food abound. I was treat by my son in law and daughter to a lunch at Nick's. The place is clean,welcoming and spacious. The menu is huge with so many offerings. We chose the luncheon specials which include hot garlic rolls,Italian bread with olive oil and a fresh salad. My spaghetti with marinara was delish! One of the best value pizza shops in the area. The subs are huge with plenty of toppings, and are a better value than any comparable restaurant in the area. They have a lot of good lunch specials as well that they don't list on their website. Downside is the coarse/rude staff. Clearly a family owned restaurant, you can hear them swearing at each other or making sour faces just about every time you enter. I've only been here once but will definitely go back. It was a nice day so we sat at one of the tables set up on the sidewalk outside of the restaurant. The view isn't the greatest but how many places are there were you can eat outside on a nice day? The server was friendly and the food was pretty good. I ordered the mixed cheese sandwich (because I am a vegetarian) which was simple but very good and my fiance had the chicken parmesan sandwich which he REALLY enjoyed.
