Hungry on the go? Great idea to stop at Nick's. Or is it? My buddy and I wanted to grab a fresh pizza to go on our way home from the bars. The guy behind the counter told me "we only do pizza by the slice". I thought that odd, and asked him if he can even make a pizza. Fair question with it being a pizzeria. Went in there tonight on Saturday June 20th at 10pm with friends 6 of us ordered 8 slices one of our friends slipped on the floor in front of the cashier and landed on her a@@. Dropped her pizza slice. As she is on floor asked for some paper towels the cashier gave her three towels. We asked if they would replace the pizza slice since it was face down on the floor. The cashier girl said no she did not see it. Really she is laying on the floor right in front of the cashier. Yesterday, June 20, I was eating at Nick's Pizza Grill with a couple of friends while celebrating Pride. During our visit, a woman slipped and fell to the floor. She was not drunk or behaving recklessly. Several customers immediately went over to help her, but the staff did not appear to assist or check on her condition. Her pizza fell on the floor during the incident, and she was not offered a replacement. What made the situation even more upsetting was that when questions were raised about what happened, staff reportedly said they had not seen her fall, even though employees appeared to be nearby when it occurred. Afterward, I heard multiple people say that the floor may have been wet and that there was no warning sign posted. Whether that was the cause or not, the lack of concern shown after someone was injured was disappointing. Everyone was upset by how the situation was handled. The woman and her group of friends did not seem to feel safe, supported, or cared for by the staff after the incident. What should have been a fun night out ended on a negative note. Thanks, Nick's Pizza Grill, for ruining the night. To make matters worse, the pizza itself was underwhelming. The food did not live up to the prices being charged, and overall the experience was not worth the cost. Stopped here late on a recent Thursday night. The place wasn't at all busy and that's probably for the best because the lone guy working here that night to take the orders, cook the pizzas and charge customers was either very new, slow or stoned. He appeared to have difficulty working the point of sale machine, and when customers came in and placed an order, he seemed to need time to process what they'd told him before he (slowly) went into action. We each had a pizza slice and a beer. Both were good, but we had to wipe down our own table from the last customers who'd sat there. Possibly the worst pizza I've ever had in my life. This place used to be Humpys and had decent if not, outstanding pizza. I went to grab a slice last night. I should've trusted the hesitant feeling I had when I looked at more than a dozen pizzas With slick, shiny congealed cheese surfaces, all waiting for customers like me to ask for them, after which they handed over after a quick two minute run into an oven. I took my slice on the paper plate took one bite spit that out and left. It was terrible. It smelled bad. The place is filthy. ok, so it was a holiday.... BUT, no prices for pizza slice anywhere to be seen. Pizza is good(3.5-4 star), but when they charged me over $14 for two slices of cheese pizza! Im sorry, NO pizza is ever worth that. It seems they charge what ever prices they think you will pay or what ever prices they want (thus this is why there is no listed prices on the menu board). This was my last visit to a place that overcharges with zero thought of the effect it may have on return business. This place only survives as it's the only thing open other than New York grilled cheese when we get out of the clubs. Only someone intoxicated can swallow suck dried up cardboard. The crust was so thin like paper thin. Barely any sauce , any cheese or topping. Not to mention they charge you $5.72 a slice with an upgrade for having cheese on the pizza for .26 cents per slice. I read a lot of the reviews on Nicks before going in for a couple slices. You have a lot of 4 and 5 stars and then a lot of 1 and 2 stars. I think the overall rating (3stars) it has is accurate. I don't think Nicks is off putting but i don't think there is anything that stands out about their slices. They are as one helper said "your standard reheat and eat" place. If you aren't going to Nicks or already in the shopping plaza you have no idea its there. It's tucked away in the back corner of the plaza. Somebody told me it's a new pizza place that took the place of an old pizza place but i never tried the old place. We walked in and we were the only two in there so we were greeted instantly and he told us about the lunch special (2 slices and a soda for $6.95) and also told us the Chicago Dogs were currently off the menu. Bummer for me who wanted to try one but i was ok just getting a couple slices. The slices were thrown back in the oven to reheat and in a couple minutes we each had two slices in front of us. I started with the cheese and it tasted like your typical cheese slice. Sauce was alright, cheese blend was good and it had a good texture. The problem was nothing was special about this slice. With some many slice places in the area, this one did not stand out. The pepperoni slice for me was a little better but only because the pepperoni added some flavor. The crust was a little doughy and chewy. Last year, in 2023, I visited Nick's Pizzarelli when visiting Wilton Manors with friends. I had a bad experience with the pizza in 2023 when I was visiting the area, and I sent Nick's Pizza note via Facebook Messenger to explain the situation. I received a very polite reply at the time that said next time you're in the area which would be in 2024 that I should stop in and get two complimentary pieces of pizza for my troubles in 2023. When I went to the restaurant recently in 2024, I spoke to the staff member on duty and she asked me to contact the owner. I contacted him again through Facebook Messenger and by telephone call. When he called back, he was very rude and said he would call the police if I did not leave his restaurant immediately. I did nothing to provoke this response. I was simply following up on the polite Facebook Messenger message I received from last year. The response from Nick's Pizza was total about face from the polite and courteous response I received via Facebook Messenger in 2023. While I would have given them credit for making reasonable attempts last year to make me a satisfied customer, they totally failed me this year. Why a pizza owner would threaten me that he would call the police for my doing nothing is poor customer service. I cannot recommend Nick's Pizza, especially for how it treated this customer and they did not resolve my problem from the previous year. I am a very disappointed customer. read more

After a most recent visit (I have eaten there in the past) I noticed a few things that customers need to be aware of at Nick's; 1) There's no menu board displaying food items AND without seeing such pricing is on their items,they can charge whatever,I think is a violation in itself!! 2) When I've ordered the same slice and was charged $1.75 more because it was a busy Saturday night,what I believe is 'surge pricing' every customer needs to be aware of this practice! First of all, I can't compare to Humpys as I haven't had their pizza in years. Nick's will have to stand on its own. I've been to Nick's 2 times for a pizza slice. Nick's is really a pizza-by-the-slice place. Pizza and late drinking nights seem to go together, so it's in the right spot! All the staff I've encountered were friendly and accommodating. Both times there was a good variety of pizzas, and if there weren't any mushrooms on them (my main requirement), they were glad to toss them on and stick it in the pizza oven. The pizza slices were good, especially one with shrimp and I think basil (and my mushrooms). Crusts were just as I like, not too thick or thin. I prefer my pizza hot, and both times they were not re-heated in the oven long enough (especially with raw mushrooms tossed on). I'll be back, and next time I'll mention to warm it up longer. Nick's Pizzarelli is a brand new pizza place that serves diners into the late hours of the night. Located in the same plaza as Tee Jay Thai restaurant, Hunters nightclub, and Georgie's Alibi Monkey Bar, Nick's serves a wide array of comfort food like pizza, hoagies, hot dogs, and desserts. My friend invited me to try Nick's for our Thursday cheat meal. The parking lot is kind of small for the vast array of businesses in the plaza, but there is also street parking and a parking lot around the corner. The business is located next to We Financial, and is well-lit and clean inside. They have booths and tables inside the restaurant, as well as covered tables outside on the patio. They offer huge 16" pizza pies, either from a set menu or you can customize your own. You can also choose giant single slices for very affordable prices (from $3.50 - $4.50). You get a lot of food for your money, and they do NOT skimp on the toppings or cheese. The crust is thin and crunchy, baked right at the counter. You can watch them toss the dough and make the pizza from your table. My friend and I shared three slices of the: -Mac & Cheese: mozzarella cheese sauce, elbow macaroni, and cheddar cheese. This pizza doesn't skimp on the cheese! The macaroni is cooked soft, and when you bite into it, the cheese pulls like just in a commercial. I loved this slice and it brought the little kid out in me. - Shrimp Scampi: mozzarella cheese, garlic butter, olive oil, basil, and shrimp. This pizza is like an Italian dish in a slice. The shrimp is HUGE and they put a lot on the pizza. Really unique creation that I've never seen anywhere else. - Chicken Bacon Ranch: mozzarella cheese, chicken, bacon green onions, and ranch dressing. This is a filling and delicious pizza. They have lots of toppings, and dressing... It's a very filling slice of yummy flavors. Nick's also has appetizers like a pepperoni-rose bread roll, which is a roll with slices of pepperoni that look like flower pedals and held together with cheese. My description does nothing to attest to the cute creation it is. I also ordered garlic knots, which come in a set of 4 and are smothered in garlic, olive oil, and Parmesan cheese. We also tried a Chicago-style hot dog, which brought me right back to my hometown. You have a fresh, thick Vienna pure beef sausage, topped with relish, onions, pickled tomatoes, hot peppers, celery salt, and mustard (no ketchup!) in a poppy seed bun. An absolute MUST TRY are their desserts! Most are made in-house, by the owner's mother, such as the tiramisu, the rainbow cupcake, and the divine coconut cake. The tiramisu is AMAZING! Lots of cream and the lady fingers are soaked to perfection. It's my favorite Italian dessert, and it is delicious here. The rainbow cupcake is also yummy, and so cute to look at. The frosting isn't overly sweet but the dessert hits the spot. We also tried the Chocolate Milky Way cupcake, which is a chocolate cupcake with caramel drizzle. There is a surprise of a cream filling when you get to the center, which added an extra bite of sweetness to the dessert. I loved everything... just pick a dessert with a flavor that interests you, and you will NOT be disappointed. They offer a wide array of beverages, from fountain drinks, to beer and wine, and coffee and espresso to end your night. The restaurant is well-lit, and clean inside. The employees are all very friendly, and each one asked if we needed anything throughout our dining time. They are fast to serve and fast to clean, but most importantly, you could tell that everyone wanted you to have a great dining experience. They are open until 11 pm on weekdays, 2:30 am on weekends, and midnight on Sunday, so it's a great option for late night food and a better alternative to fast food. It was a sad day goodbye along The Drive when Humpys Pizza & Cupcakes closed its doors in Shoppes of Wilton Manors. I used to really enjoy having a slice of their pizza along with a bowl of their special gazpacho. So I'm more than thrilled to give a big welcome Nick's Pizzarelli which has taken over the old Humpys location in the Shoppes. Better yet, except for the delicious Humpys gazpacho, Nick's not only offers everything Humpys did but more and, from what I've tasted so far, better. And to beat that, Nick's has a better wider range of menu offerings with my particular delight being 100% Vienna Hot Dogs done Chicago Style, which is to say with mustard (no ketchup...use of ketchup is a culinary felony in Chicago), onions, pickles, tomatoes hot peppers, celery salt and the ever so special neon relish in a steamed poppy seed bun. Another thing I really like about Nick's is that they offer a larger choice of toppings with pepperoni, ham, meatball mushrooms sausage, bacon, caramelized onion, pineapple, tomato, sundried tomato, garlic, basil, Kalamata olives, mozzarella, cheddar, provolone, ricotta, blue cheese crumples, shrimp and, as if it were a special for my particular palette, anchovies! Hooray! I no longer need to carry my own can with me. Besides Nicks "extra big by the slice," it also offers gourmet 16 inchers, 8 inch Stromboli, salads, hoagies, wine by the glass or bottle, beer, varying desserts, starters and soft drinks. On my visit I had a slice of what I was merely told was Nick's Special which I had selected from their slice offerings as it looked so delicious and, to my delight, also proved itself to taste every bit as delicious as it looked. Of course I can't help but draw a comparison with those of what was Humpys, and though by comparison close, I'd have to say I found Nick's to be the better in every aspect. But the one thing that is very much the same as Humpys was is the friendliness of the counter staff; not just friendly but super nice friendly, helpful, courteous and polite. read more

This place is where Humpy's used to be, and while it's not fair to judge them based on who was there before, since the place doesn't really look any different, I think it's fair. The pizza at Humpy's was great. This place, not so much. To begin with, the pizza has a good flavor but not much sauce, cheese or toppings. And for the price they charge per slice, I think I deserve better. The crust isn't my favorite, but I'm okay with it. I prefer a thicker crust but it's hard to find in south Florida. So I don't penalize them for that. But spreading the sauce so thin you can see the crust beneath, not acceptable. I understand why they have to charge so much for fountain drinks; rent in this plaza cannot be cheap. The parking lot is pretty much always a challenge finding a spot. So they have to make enough money to turn a profit. I get that. But if you're going to keep everything that Humpy's had (including the case of cupcakes), why did you get rid of birch beer? There are very few places here that carry it, and that was one of the things that made Humpy's so endearing for me. Now, Nick's is just another mediocre pizza parlor. Looked like a New York City "Slice Shop" so we gave it a try. No prices posted...no menu, so they charge you whatever they feel like...for us it came to nearly $5.00 per slice, whether plain or with (sparse and uninteresting) toppings. Cold dry-looking pies sitting uncovered for heaven knows how long, slices popped into the oven to heat up prior to being "served." It's a good thing that I looked at my receipt before leaving. I had been charged for additional toppings (including pineapple, which I don't like) that I did not order and that did not appear on the slices. High price rip-offs are one thing, but this seems like plain old-fashioned fraud to me. Dirty, nasty place. Floors needed sweeping, sticky tabletops needed wiping, the bathroom looked like it had been bombed during the Vietnam war. The bathroom door, a single, open bathroom with an indirect view into the dining room, not only did not lock...IT HAD NO LOCK AND THE KNOB HAD BEEN BROKEN OFF apparently a long time ago! And don't get me started on the smell, which seeped out into the dining area!
