Ted's North is one of those places where it's honestly hard to order wrong. No matter what you get, it just hits. Blind order? Still a win. Even if you hate pickles and somehow end up with pickles... surprise, you're a pickle person now. Ted did that. The place itself is tiny, blink and you might miss it, but don't let the size fool you. This kitchen is putting out big flavor, zero nonsense. Everything tastes intentional, dialed in, and made by people who clearly care way too much, in the best way. As for cleanliness: it's solid. Not fancy, not sterile, just well kept and comfortable, exactly what you want from a neighborhood spot that's focused on great food, not white gloves. Service is quick, friendly, and efficient. No over the top spiel, just good people getting you good food without the wait. This is the kind of place you keep in your regular rotation and confidently recommend to anyone visiting. Ted's North isn't trying too hard, and that's why it works. Five stars, easy. Small space, big flavor, zero regrets.

Barb is the best! Really pleasant and the food is great and the price is affordable. The energizer with a hash brown usually does the trick for me, the blueberry muffin buttered and toasted is also a good play. They have good sandwiches and is a staple grab lunch to go spot! The fries are supposedly very good but I've never had them!

2 words: seasoned fries. Don't miss these!!!! The sandwiches are great here. After trying both breakfast and lunch items, lunch is definitely the way to go. Did I mention seasoned fries? Just making sure. A solid local spot. You can't go wrong but the spicy Italian and chicken cutlet are my go-to. It's a small place so it can get packed but they are super friendly and it's worth the wait. Highly recommend!

What can I say, COVID has made me a take out sandwich connoisseur. And this is the blue ribbon winner, hands down. I've had The Godfather which was spectacular! I'm a guy that truly believes you can seriously screw up a sandwich by having too much bread or too much meat. You need a balance. The bread, meat, cheese, gravy balance was perfect. Sometimes too much gravy can make a sloppy soppy sub. Not the case here. I've also had the Gobbler. Honestly, you don't know how much you miss holiday food until it's May and you get a turkey and stuffing and gravy sandwich. This thing is just straight up a beast of a sandwich. One of the best I've ever had. Finally, I recently had the disco chicken. I can take this one or leave it. It's good but the starchiness of the fries kind of dried this one out. Still leaves and bounds ahead of other deli sandwiches but my least favorite of the three. Fries are good. Not much to say here but they are cheap and a good side so just get 'em. Prices are excellent, food is truly incredible, and take out his lightning fast. Great job Ted!!

Blown. Away. Dare I say top 3 sandwich I've ever had in my life. Service was phenomenal, vibe was perfect, sandwich was obviously spectacular. And don't get me started on the seasoned fries. I would go there just for them - a must. Please, never remove the Tommy Devito from the menu because I will crave this sandwich until the day I die.

Grumpy's Sourdough Pizza Co. 522 Saddle River Rd…read more Saddle Brook, NJ 07663 Hot Honey Heaven Grumpy's Triple Threat Multiple people have reached out to me and suggested I explore this locally owned pizzeria located in the heart of Saddle Brook. As I entered the parlor, it is a hole in the wall with minimal seating and no AC unit. Regardless that it wasn't fancy, I still had a very gut instinct the quality of their pies was going to be on the money. When I arrived a weekday afternoon to place my order, the cashier informed me there will be a 40 minute wait. For the fact that the wait is this long indicates there are in demand and their pizza is top quality. I also saw framed plaques along their table counter showing they received positive media recognition from The Record, northjersey.com, and bestofnj.com. Hot Honey Heaven: I was initially skeptical about the appearance of this pie because it looks kind of messy. However, I took a single bite and was immediately hooked. This pie was topped with pepperoni, crispy chicken, and ricotta cheese. Mike's Hot Honey was generously poured over the top. It has a combination of sweet and spiciness. I never anticipated honey would enhance the flavor of the pie; I wish I requested an extra cup! Grumpy's Triple Threat: Named after the restaurant, this pie is prepared with pesto, grandma sauce, and pink tomato sauce. The sprinkled parmigiano reggiano added a nice touch. I especially liked the artistic appearance. The three colors were visually appealing, especially with the swirls of pesto. All pies are prepared with their signature sourdough pizza crust. Each slice had a perfect undercarriage and a firm crunch. Customers have the option to bake the pies may light, medium, or well-done. I chose medium because a majority of the customer base prefers this style. As a bonus, Grumpy's offer complimentary crust upgrades. I opted to add garlic butter brush; the outer crust edge was literally brushed with hot, garlic-infused butter. While it is common to throw away the top portion of the pizza, the upgrade is definitely an incentive to eat the crust. San Marzano tomatoes are the primary ingredient for the sauce. It's not overly sweet and has a light tang. This pizzeria is geared for take out, but there are plenty of benches only minutes away at Saddle River County Park. You can enjoy your pie while admiring the beautiful scenery of the park. The parking lot has limited spaces, but you can easily find a spot on the street. Grumpy's may be a hole in the wall, but the pizza was outstanding. I'm really exuberant that I had a pristine experience exploring sourdough crust for the first time! I was far from "grumpy" after dining here! #grumpys #grumpyssourdoughpizzaco #grumpystriplethreat #hothoneyheaven

I ordered the Pineapple Express pizza, which included ricotta cheese, jalapeños, pork belly (if I'm not mistaken), ham, and fresh basil on the side. The combination of flavors was absolutely amazing, and it was one of the best specialty pizzas I've had. The customer service was outstanding from start to finish, and I have absolutely no complaints. This was a fantastic experience, and I will definitely be ordering again. They've earned a repeat customer!

We arrived a little after 9pm. The service of the young server was perfect. He was prompt, polite and attentive to our needs. The food was as good as you can get at a highway diner. We got what we expected and enjoyed it. Desert, however, is another story. D is allergic to anything that contains caffeine. That means no coffee, tea, certain pain medications and NO CHOCOLATE. She asked me to go to the display counter and see what kind of cheesecake there was. There were many different kinds: mango, orange, caramel, banana and more. Unfortunately, this diner's idea of garnishing a desert is with a creme topping loaded with CHOCOLATE STICKS, CHIPS, AND COOKIES! (see attached photo) EVEN THE DESERT LABLED VANILLA CAKE WAS FESTOONED WITH CHOCOLATE HOO-HAH! When I mentioned this to the management, I was told, "Well, we have rice pudding and baklava." No matter how I worded it, he just couldn't seem to comprehend that a good 90+% of his deserts had chocolate which was discriminatory against people who are allergic to chocolate. I even tried to put it in another reality for him. I asked if their baker made anything with peanut or peanut butter. He replied in the affirmative. I asked if they had a special preparation area so that there were safe deserts for a child with a peanut allergy. He didn't seem to understand the premise. So, if you, or your child have ANY food allergies, I strongly suggest that you avoid the Suburban Diner at all costs. We will be doing so in the future.
