    a box of ravioli

If you're craving ravioli, you can go to the supermarket and get various brands in the freezer section for convenience, and often mediocrity. But if you want a more authentic, nonna-style experience, consider taking a ride to Vitamia & Sons. They make fresh ravioli and sell them refrigerated, not frozen. There is no comparison to supermarket style, Vitamia is superior. They also have one of the best bakeries for bread; try a fresh loaf of semolina or a sausage bread. The refrigerator section has a variety of sauces and various styles of pasta. Vitamia makes prepared foods as well, with different daily specials. You can buy their sweet or hot Italian homemade sausage to cook at home. Vitamia even makes great cookies. Local street parking is tight, and prices are a bit high, but who wouldn't pay a little extra for authenticity and quality?

What a GEM. My husband grabbed several items from here. He shared how lovely the store and staff were. Tried their mushroom ravioli and they were SO flavorful and very stuffed. I will be shocked to see how delectable their jumbo would be. Their pink sauce smelled and tasted so fresh I thought the sausage bread was ok, but my husband enjoyed it. The size was VERY generous. We got some focaccia and spaghetti for another time and excited for them Highly recommend

Classic signage. They've been doing this for a while!

My family did a culinary tour of New Jersey on Father's Day morning. We started at Vitamia and it was a great place to kick things off! Great old school vibe, amazing selection! We selected 12 ravioli (cheese), a pound of penne, and a small container of their vodka sauce. There was so much more in the store that I wanted to grab but I showed some discipline. The ravioli were fantastic, perfect pasta texture with a sublime filling. They went really well with the vodka sauce. The vodka sauce is also perfectly flavorful and a great consistency. The small container was enough for the ravioli and the wonderfully al dente fresh penne. (Plus some bread dipping) Vitamia is a great Italian pasta shop, with plenty more to offer! We'll be back!

Located at the heart of Lodi's Little Italy in NJ, this establishment is only a few minutes from the house and dropped by during lunch as I was in the mood of some fresh Italian semolina bread and it didn't disappoint. Upon arrival and being a weekday , there was only a customer in front of me as a minimum of 4 customers allowed at a time limit. While there I also picked up some rice balls (arancini) and potato coquettes. However this place is famous for their home made raviolis, sauce and sausage bread. The prices are a bit high, but the the food is worth it. The store itself was brightly lit and extremely clean. If you are in the area, it's worth a visit and it's only street parking.

The cannoli is unreal! A cannoli you "leave the guns" for no doubt. Grabbed a few loaves of sausage bread and rice ball for the crew at home

Saddle Brook, NJ 07663 Choripan Special: Half Sausage Sandwich Homemade Chips This special deal includes a half sausage sandwich with freshly cut french fries (the owner refers to this side as "chips"). This sausage sandwich is a simple sandwich consisting of protein, bread, and a signature sauce. While this may seem dull, it's actually quite tasty. The Argentinian sausage was served on a soft seeded roll. The chimichurri spread was freshly made in house and undoubtedly the best feature of the sandwich. The fries were hot, crispy and seasoned perfectly. A side of ketchup was included, but they were so flavorful they could have been eaten without any dipping sauces. There is a decent amount of seating in the dining area. Because the ship is located inside a strip mall, there are multiple parking spaces behind the stores. Carlos was very attentive and an outstanding server. He welcomed me into the restaurant and made me feel right at home. #nickssandwichshop #saddlebrooknj #choripanspecial

The steak was very tender, juicy and the chimi sauce enhanced the flavor. Bread was fresh and toasted. Also got to try the choriopan special ($11.95) which is a sausage with chimichurri sandwich was also solid. I liked the skirt steak sandwich the best, it's not cheap but the ingredients are high quality so it's worth it as a treat. If you're in the area and want fresh, made to order sandwiches, I would recommend Nick's. * Parking on premise * gender neutral restroom

This day I said, "Today is the day and I'm getting a freaking sandwich from this joint.", so I rode my road bike here and it was a good 25 minute bike ride to get there. But when I finally got there it was surprisingly closed. I was confused because Yelp says they open at 8am and here I was there at 8:30 am and closed. I was super disappointed and was like ok today isn't the day I'm getting this sandwich but hey at least I got a nice workout getting here and back. Just when I was about to leave something told me to call and lo and behold Cosmo answered. He said they open at 9am and that he was making fresh mozzarella before they opened for the day. I told him on Yelp it says your open at 8 am and he said Yelp makes up their own hours but for me to wait and he'll make me the sandwich and it should be ready in 10 minutes. Awesome and he did do the selection #1 sandwich in 10 min and all before he was officially opened for me consisting of sopp, capp, salami, ham, fresh mozz, sharp provolone, sweet peppers and LTO. That was awesome customer service to me. So as I went inside to pay, he told me $10. In my mind,"I'm like seriously for this heavy sandwich I thought it would be at least $12. What a great deal" I thought. I paid and thanked him and rode my bike home burning off some calories before putting them back with this sandwich . It is a pretty good sandwich and for the price you would pay at a crappy Subway place. I can see why this place is popular and will be back for more sandwiches. Highly recommend as a good value sub place for the quality of ingredients you get at a great price. You're welcome and remember be nice to each other.

When I was in there, I saw the stuffed bread. After a bit of a conversation about what was in them I opted to get two of them one with broccoli Rabe And one with mixed vegetable vegetables. Boy were we both unhappy with what we got. My boyfriend's father found his braciole and sauce to be so salty it was inedible. He likes food and he is rarely disappointed in an Italian meal. But he said it was so bad that he couldn't even eat it. He ended up throwing it away. I was equally disappointed. Maybe more so. There was no way that vegetable roll was made that day let alone any sooner than two days before. It was so stale. It was hard as a rock. And I hadn't even heated it up. I cut into it right after I brought it home. It also tasted stale. I ended up throwing it away too. Broccoli Rabe roll was a tad better. It wasn't hard as a rock. But it wasn't fresh either. It tasted meh. The only thing I was happy with are the prepackaged taralli. They were imported and were lovely. Go there for the prepackaged imported food products. Don't waste your money on the dicey homemade food experience.
