I ordered a few things...my usuals when testing out a new place. Eggplant Parm, Eggplant Rolletini, fried calamari with fried shrimp and something called a Lent dish, which was rigatoni, a few shrimps in a cream/garlic sauce. The prices were excellent and so were portions. The shrimp in the Lent dish were decent size but had the tails on, so that means handling shrimp with sauce in your hands. Otherwise it was tasty. Both the eggplant dishes were quite good, as is their sauce. I just wished there was more cheese on top. Other than that both were nice and I'd order again. Calamari/shrimp was also good with nice sized butterflied shrimp. My main issue was packaging. I felt like removing stars for this (but didn't). The delivery driver arrived at my front door, and even though I had selected the option to leave it there, he rang the bell and waited. I guess I'm glad he did because my 5 containers were just handed to me individually. No bag. Not even a box...which I really don't like anyway. Then I saw most were in those metal tins with the clear plastic tops that crimp on. Half were crushed, and you know those were the eggplant entrees with the melted cheese. So for the last few months I've been conducting my own personal search for the best buffalo chicken…read morepizza in Wayne and I think I found it ::insert fanfare!:: Ok so what's so good about it?? Unlike other spots in town Pizza One uses buffalo sauce as the base on the pizza, which is the only way go! Topped with mozz and buffalo chicken it's simple and so so good! Other places in town use a red sauce as their base which does not make sense to me. Another spot in town uses buff sauce but drowns their dough in it and that is just too much sauce, man. Pizza One has figured out the right sauce/cheese/chicken ratio. Their regular cheese pie is a winner too. They do a really nice thin but not too thin crust here which works for a plain pie but also is a nice base for loading up with the toppings too. I also have to talk about their garlic knots. Also the best that I've found in town (so far anyway..). They are big, fluffy and loaded with garlic. They are served w/ marinara but if you've got an extra buck I'd suggest you spring for the vodka sauce - it's sooooo good w/ the knots. No complaints re: service or wait times for pies. Pizza One is just a super solid spot in town to get food. Bonus -- if you order online they've always got some sort of deal going on - ie: a large cheese pie and 12 wings for $26 or 3 large pies for $42. We often order the pizza/wing combo (when I'm not insisting on ordering the aforementioned buffalo chicken pizza..) and when you compare to other spots you're saving at least $5 which is not nothin'.
