    Buddha Bowl

We had an excellent experience at Real Roots Cafe. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I got the Buddha Bowl and loved how balanced and satisfying it was. My husband had the Reuben 2.0 and said it was excellent. He also tried the Kingston juice blend and really enjoyed it. The menu has a great variety of food and drink options--definitely something for everyone. We sat outside and really liked the quiet, relaxed atmosphere. It wasn't busy when we were there, which surprised us because the quality was so high. It's definitely a spot we'll return to.

I'm a bit surprised that the vegetarian food scene in Chattanooga can support a cafe of this sort, but not unhappily so. I stopped in for an early lunch (noting that many of their salads and food items aren't available until 10:30, which wasn't ideal for me). I ended up with a taco salad; their version of vegan nacho cheese, whatever it was, didn't really hit it off for me; kind of runny and an odd taste, albeit not enough to stop me from enjoying what was otherwise an interesting mix of flavors including a bit of hearty red lentil chili. Their interpretation of hot chocolate has a very natural taste with a hint of spices that made it sing. It was really satisfying, and it was not a small thing for me to try this in a town that has a majestic hot chocolate restaurant. It did take quite a while for whatever process they use to make it, but the result was worthwhile. They had some interesting-looking sweets. So while I had a few negative notes and the portion size for the price was not huge, it was a worthwhile meal for me.

Spectacular little spot that I'm thankful to have found. The place is very clean, including restrooms. Parking is easy, not congested. Staff members were friendly. I will definitely be back!

This place is one of the hidden gems of Chattanooga. Great atmosphere with amazing food. Service is on point. The owner and staff do a thorough job on choosing the ingredients. Always tastes fresh. Had one of the sandwiches and always get a fresh juice.

Had a yummy vegan lunch here today. Have always wanted to stop in and today was the day! I had the breakfast burrito, it was good but personally I love spice so I felt it needed jalapeños or hot sauce perhaps. My husband had the nacho plate and it was yummy. He got half bbq and half Buffalo - I liked the Buffalo side the best. We also both got the organic iced tea. I expected a stronger brew so was a little disappointed in the tasteless, watery one. All and all a good experience but rather pricey for what we got.

While visiting the area we hit allergy season in high gear. So we found this place. Got the Golden Roots pro smoothie and a super bite. Both are delicious and all the antioxidants should help our allergies symptoms too. Sure can't hurt! Great find. Only wish we had one at home!

Overall, the place has a cute, clean, aesthetic feel to it. The water station was nice & their stickers looked cute. Upon arrival it took a while for us to be met at the register; i understand they are a smaller business but the wait did get a little frustrating. They do not currently serve any gluten free bread, but did have a gf waffle special which i was excited for. Upon ordering it, I was informed that they were sold out. Apparently the person right in front of us got to it before we did. (which i thought was an odd thing to mention, not sure why they thought i'd want to be informed of that, but okay) sooo.... as for our meals. The nacho bowl was good, I got it with avocados ontop. I would definitely not say that I was blown away... I'd give it a solid 6.5/10. now - The serving size of the large buffalo no chicken chicken salad was good, BUT. the greens in the bowl did not seem happy, in fact quite the opposite, they were wilted & sad. also!!!! ASK FOR DRESSING ON THE SIDE, (the bowl was LOADED like it took a bath in the dressing for a few days and just plopped out onto the plate) My friend was not enjoying the bowl, so I offered to trade. One of the bites I took definitely threw my stomach off... I don't know what specifically it was, but I knew as soon as I took the bite. Also, randomly saw a staff member coming in with a modelo, maybe that's who's taste testing it??... Perhaps, I'd also have to be intoxicated to understand what the taste is trying to convey.... As much as I love supporting plant based food spots.. I would not go back to this one... & I would hate for anyone to be mislead by the 4 1/2 star review which I had originally relied on to make my decision. PS - someone else left more than half of their salad... perhaps it's just the greens ):

Big fan of the food here. Haven't had anything that wasn't great. We go here whenever we're in Chattanooga. Quick service and nice staff.

Since it was our first visit and everything on the menu spoke to us, she helped steer us in the right direction. I ended up ordering the pistachio croissant, and honestly... I'd go back for that alone. It was warm, huge by croissant standards, and absolutely heavenly. I even grabbed another one to take home because Future Me deserved a little happiness too. We also tried the raspberry lemon danish, which was a delicious combo, but the pistachio croissant stole the show without breaking a sweat. We started with the poutine, and while it wasn't the traditional version I've had before, it was incredible. Instead of cheese curds blocks, it came with pulled pork and melted cheese, and somehow it just worked. Comfort food with a little Southern flair. For breakfast, we had the ham and cheese omelet with breakfast potatoes. It was exactly what you want it to be--classic, satisfying, and impossible to regret if that's your usual order. I also tried the Liquid Gold juice. Their juice selection is impressive, but I may have accidentally found my forever order on the first try. It was so refreshing, with just a hint of ginger. For a hot drink, I highly recommend the London fog. I'm not usually a tea fan but if you don't want coffee, this is an excellent option. Before we left, we picked up some of their salted caramels to go, and they make the perfect little gift... assuming you have enough self-control not to eat them all in the car. The vibe here is upscale southern diner. One of the signs on the wall said, "All are welcome, but you need to act right," and honestly, that's the kind of life advice we could all use. I also really appreciated that parking was free. In Chattanooga these days it's hard finding a place where you don't have to scan a QR code, download an app, and pay to park just to eat. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Milk & Honey is absolutely worth a visit...and if you're debating the pistachio croissant, stop debating and just order it. Your only regret will be not getting a second one.

We spent some time outside before being seated, but the food and service made it worth it. I stayed in my carrier throughout the meal and was able to join my humans indoors. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and never made us feel out of place. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was lively, and the service was attentive even though the restaurant was busy. Now for the most important part of this review. While enjoying brunch, I witnessed something I never expected to see: a baby goat riding around the restaurant in a pet stroller. At that moment, I realized Chattanooga may be one of the most pet-friendly places I've ever visited. Between the great food, kind staff, and unforgettable people-watching opportunities, Milk & Honey ended up being one of our favorite brunch stops of the trip. Dogba's verdict: Excellent brunch, friendly service, comfortable carrier dining, and unexpected goat encounters. Five paws !

We ordered the veggie omelette and the Broadbent omelette, and both were generously filled with fresh, well-balanced ingredients. Nothing overpowered anything else. Instead of relying on heavy spices or sauces, the flavors came naturally from the quality and proportion of the ingredients themselves. The sourdough toast was exceptional, with a crisp crust and great texture, and my cappuccino was exactly what I hoped for--smooth, balanced, and expertly made. The setting was just as enjoyable. Housed in a beautifully restored historic train station, the atmosphere has genuine character that complements the food rather than trying to distract from it. A breakfast that's driven by quality ingredients instead of gimmicks. I would gladly return and highly recommend it.

Knowledgeable, showed genuine concern, and were able to make accommodations without a lot of back-and-forth. Good selection on the menu meant we weren't working from a short list of options either. Food was good across both visits--consistent, which matters as much as a single great meal. My son particularly liked the Brunch Sausage Burger. Looked good, and seemed entirely appropriate after a late night. Large space, tables well spread out, and located not far from downtown. Easy place to settle in whether you're with a crowd or just the two of you. Good for: small kids, business meals, casual meals, groups Would come back. Already did once.
