Wow! Does it feel good to write another review after this horrible slow down. I had the opportunity to join a former coworker and her husband for a beer/lunch and we decided on the newly opened Nigh Brewing Company. I am not sure of the connection, but there is definitely something linking Nigh to Plainfield's other main brewery BrewLink. Many of the BrewLink brews are available here too! On the site of a former brewery, this new one has easy access off SR 267 and Hadley Rd (There's a stoplight to help you get in and out of the retail area.) They have plenty of parking on a couple sides of the building and the east end has a patio with a partial overhang for shade. The seating outside is metal and heavy, but I found it comfortable enough. Inside, the space is newly refinished and looked clean and spacious. But since it was noon and in the low 70's and because the patio wasn't nearly full, my group of three chose outdoors. But that didn't affect service at all. The crowd was small due to the pandemic, so having only one woman handling the waitress duties and the hostess duties never became a problem for us. She hustled and remained friendly throughout the meal. She had her mask and they have hand sanitizer dispensers around for patrons by the doorways. I was pleasantly surprised to see they have now added flights of four beers for $8 even though some of the early reviews said they didn't. So if you like trying lots of beers on your first visit, you can do that here! I went with a variety of beers: The "Nigh P.A." is an IPA (6.8% ABV) that had an approachable level of hops. Not overpowering, but a very drinkable beer that won't cause all your other flight choices to taste weird. I then moved on to the "Common Grounds" which is a Dunkelweizen with coffee flavor (5%) If you are someone who likes iced coffee, I would recommend this one. I then chose the "Cordially Yours" Creamy Milk Stout (6.8%) that had bits of chocolate and assorted flavors that reminded me of my youth and sitting around eating a sundae. Very tasty. Not the kind of beer you would slam after mowing the lawn, but just very enjoyable flavor! And I finished up with the "Rico Guavae" Milkshake IPA (7.7&) made with strawberry, guava, and vanilla flavors.) It looks similar to grapefruit juice but has a nice blend of sweet and tart flavors with just a hint of bitter like you expect from an IPA. I enjoyed all four beers without leaving the Nigh collection of brews. They do offer BrewLink and other beers from around the state too. And the food was above my expectations! I ordered a grilled blackened salmon Caesar salad. It was plenty of food without me ordering any sides. The plate was covered with cut romaine lettuce (mostly bite sized, not giant leaves that require additional cutting). It came dressed with Caesar dressing already on, but I suppose you could ask for it on the side. Lots of croutons for a bit of crunch and thinly shaved squares of cheese too. The salmon was light and flaky inside. The blackened side was also the grilled side and offered just a hint of crunch from the searing. Some of the best grilled fish technique I've had! That alone was enough for an impressive rating. My friends tried wraps and mac and cheese and enjoyed their meals. I didn't get photos of their plates since it was our first meal together. I like going with folks who know me and aren't put off by me asking them to wait until I get a picture of their food. Hopefully next time we go out, I will be a little bolder and ask them if I can grab a photo before it arrives. I don't like being rude. Meals are meant to be enjoyed together! And to make the day even better, my friends picked up the tab! No waiting around for the bill to arrive. The waitress efficiently asked how the checks were to be grouped/divided and before I could react, my friend said one bill for the table and to her. I offered, but I have to admit that I do enjoy being treated once in awhile instead of being the one who always picks up the bill! Very nice meal and beer selections. Plenty of seating during the day and I can only hope that once the pandemic passes, more people will support this and other local breweries/restaurants. We went for trivia night and left completely disappointed. We stood at the front for several minutes until the waiter came and told us we could not be seated despite the fact there were several open tables. She was both unapologetic and didn't give a reason as to why we couldn't be seated. After half an hour she seated us at one of the tables that had been open the whole time. I believe she was keeping us from being seated because she felt some type of way ( ). The fried pickles stated like day week grease, so the horrible service wasn't even worth the food. Hate to see a local business in such poor shape. Honestly so embarrassed for the woman at the front desk who clearly had nothing going for her and couldn't even do her service job. I have visited twice since this brewpub opened, and is A-OK. The interior has been brightened up since the previous tenant, and of course there are new foods and drinks. My feeling with much of the menu (food and beer) is that it all sounds great, but is hit or miss. First visit was when restaurants had first reopened. I had a salad with fried chicken, which was pretty good, and boyfriend had the burger with mac 'n' cheese (I also had a side of mac). Last weekend we visited and got the loaded fries, and I had the BBQ macaroni and cheese (topped with sauce and pulled pork), and bf had the Italian panini. The macaroni is good, but doesn't have a strong flavor, so it disappears against the flavor of a burger or BBQ pork. There was a lot of sweet BBQ sauce on mine; I think I would ask for at least half the amount if I ordered it again. Bf liked his panini, and we both like the loaded fries - I think that is my favorite item so far. The potatoes are sliced with ridges, and overall the dish has a good flavor. I had a flight at the last visit, and as beer isn't my favorite beverage, got a cider and some of the fruity beers. The cider was my favorite, of course, from Downeast. The beers I had were the Rico Guavae, In the Flesh, and More Than a Peelin', and I liked them in that order. Rico Guavae was indeed smooth, but I wish had been fruitier. In the Flesh had a beautiful aroma, but not a lot of fruitiness in taste. More Than a Peelin' was too sour for me - but it is a sour, so. Boyfriend seemed to enjoy his beers, I think one of the more basic styles was his favorite. There's also an interesting list of cocktails. Now on to COVID preventative measures - eh. First visit was pretty good, until, with an otherwise empty restaurant, they sat folks at the table RIGHT NEXT TO US. We were almost done, and close enough (to the end of our meal, and to the people next to us) that my bf just wanted to leave. This second visit, the restaurant was about half-full when we arrived, and was pretty full when we left. We are at Stage 5 now, but I would have felt more comfortable if they were running a tighter ship. We were seated at the bar and people sat on either side of us (the bar had maybe 75% of normal seats - so maybe 2-3' spacing), the hostess had her mask half on and all the way down frequently, there was no hand sanitizer in the entry (probably not required, but I really appreciate), and the staff got a little close for comfort a couple times. I will probably go back, but maybe when it's dead, for take-out, or when COVID is less of a concern. read more

I had a Caesar salad with chicken. The chicken tasted old. Husband even tried it and said the same thing without being prompted by me. When we brought it to the servers attention, she took it back to the kitchen and they said that they had had three additional complaints about the same thing. They took the chicken off of the menu for the night. The service is good and the atmosphere is energetic. Enjoyed the atmosphere, which is very energetic. Stopped in to get some beer as I knew the brewery changed hands since my last visit. The interior is pretty nice but mostly unchanged from the previous setup. There is a nice bar area and added tables and also a seperate area to eat on the right. They also have ample outside tables, but it was raining and it's getting colder at night so not sure if that's going to be in use any longer. The beer menu is varied and offers some unique choices and ones that all sounded good. Unfortunately I didn't have too much time so I ordered the peeling beer it's a limearita influenced beer with a bit of orange. Let's say it's very bright and will appeal to those fans of citrus sour infused beers. I had a sour beer a few years back that it reminded me of from another brewery. There we're two other beers that sounded good the cherry chocolate stout and another one that was coffee based. My wife also got the dessert of the day which I could only have a small taste as citrus and rich desserts don't go well together. The dessert was fantastic a pie so to speak of three layers of rich chocolate mouse, cheesecake and a cookie crust. Service was very good and fast. As a bonus they had live trivia on Mondays with a professional trivia person who did a great job. I couldn't play sadly a s I could only stay for one drink and had to go but enjoyed trying to the answer the questions while I was there. If you like beer you definitely will want to check them out. If you don't like beer they seem to have a good cocktail menu. If you don't like cocktails they have a full page of excellent bourbons on hand. If that's not to your liking I am guessing you probably shouldn't be at a bar. read more

Really good food. I was really happy to see so many great options.The beer braised beef poutine is really good. The cheese curds that are part of this need to be it's own appetizer on the menu. The paninis are full of great stuff and taste great and I really enjoyed the onion petals. The fried buffalo Mac and cheese was pretty good too. They don't offer flights on beers, which was a bummer. Also, 3 of the beers listed are sold out or not in stock, so I went with Key lime sour, which is good and refreshing, but a touch on the too sour side. It would be a good beer to mix with a fruit beer however. The blood orange ale, had no taste of blood orange at all, just the lemon and lime,and it was more sour then the sour beer. I think they need to make the beer a little higher of a priority in order to stay around, at least from what I had of these 2. The craft cocktails were very good. Service was excellent, the waitstaff was very attentive to all the tables and never missed a beat. I hope the beers get better, would love to have this as a go to place for the weekend or lunch spot. read more

After leaving the airport we found this place by chance, and so glad we did. Service was beyond excellent as Payton was amazing, perfectly amazing!!. We 1st started with the Artichoke dip and it was excellent. Hubby ordered the rib eye sandwich which had an excellent taste, as well as tender and yummy. The broccoli on the side was steamed perfectly. [ We both had]. I had the turkey artichoke panini and It also was very good, made to order as asked. Large portions, as we had food left over. Very attentive service, a nice environment, sports on TV. WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR? We will make this a regular stop on our return trips to IN. read more

Decided to try Nigh today for lunch and the food and drinks were spot on. Started with loaded potato skins, which were a "fall special" and were amazing. Decided on the classic cheeseburger and fries and it did not disappoint! This would have easily been a 5 star review but our service was not great. One person working while we were there, maybe 5 customers in the entire restaurant and she hardly ever checked on us. Came to town for a volleyball tourney and chose to stay an extra day on Sunday evening. We were staying close, and walked to Nigh to sit outside on a great evening for outside dining. Wife and my 2 younger daughters enjoyed 2 burgers and a Mac and cheese, I ordered a cup of their braised beef chili which was outstanding and their boneless Buffalo wings with a glass of a local bourbon and also tried one of their favorite brews, much like a blue moon, called happy or sunshine, which it was. Easter Sunday at 2 PM and thirty cars are lined up at all Drive Thrus we thought of going to as we travel home.... Walked in and met the outstanding Mr. JACOB and followed his recommendations of the Beef Mac and Cheese..... I WILL NEVER EVER DOUBT HIM AS IT IS BEYOND FANTASTIC...... The fried pickles are different than most and the dipping sauce has enough heat to keep it interesting. Panini was OUTSTANDING and my wife finished it which NEVER happens.... I visited Nigh with some colleagues after work, with the intent of only drinking beers on the patio. There were 5 people in our party, but Nigh is limiting parties on the patio to 4 people per table. Begrudgingly, we sat inside but this would not have been our preference during the pandemic. The interior looks great compared to the previous brewery. Much brighter and more modern, but with many TVs present, so it gives a sports pub vibe, which is a little confusing. The staff kept seating tables around us, and the tables were not 6' apart from one another, so that was concerning. Staff was inconsistent with how they wore their masks (some off the nose, some pulled down around their chin, some covering nose and mouth), so COVID safety procedures are very loosely followed here. As for the beer, what I tried was just okay. One IPA I had was very malty with little hop character and was the same color as the ESB that someone else at my table ordered. We didn't try any of the food, but what I saw on other tables looked good. Our server was extremely friendly and efficient. I would come back, but only if I can sit outside, at least until everything concerning the virus calms down. read more

We went for St Pattys day and had some of the specials. The shepherds pie was delicious. The bangers and mash were pretty good. The Rueben was good. Another friend got the Mediterranean sliders, which are always good. We got two desserts: the peanut butter pie and the bourbon cake. The pb pie was very peanut buttery but good. Just very rich. The bourbon cake was one of the most delicious cakes I've had. I don't like bourbon so I was surprised at how much I liked it. It had a wedding cake/almond taste and was just delicious. We got lots of drinks: pomtini, nigh shake up, Manhattan, Jameson shots, and whatever the green beer was (I think maybe sunshine?). All were delicious. I always enjoy nigh and am always happy with their food. The service was good and our waitress was super nice and attentive. I wish I remembered names better, but I do remember she's the one allergic to walnuts because she said she couldn't eat the bourbon cake. She was great! read more

Just based on 1 visit on an early Friday evening. Went to early dinner. Looked at the menu and decided I would have the ribeye steak sandwich for $14. Should be decent. So I went with the sandwich with fries and a dark beer. I tried a sample of the dark beer and an IPA which I usually prefer. I chose the dark beer and enjoyed it. The steak sandwich came out and it actually had waffle fries instead of the standard fries. I thought the waffle fries would be interesting. They were interesting but I didn't care for them myself. Maybe you will love them but not my preference. I thought kind of plain without much flavor. That's just me. The sandwich came out looking kind of dry but I'm hoping I'm going to be pleasantly surprised. I wasn't. More of a shaved beef than a ribeye sandwich. It had a few mushrooms sparsely on it with some lightly cooked onions which I was hoping would be more cooked. Some melted cheese but there wasn't a lot of cheese either. One bite and the sandwich was too dry to enjoy without some help. Even with the mushrooms, onions and cheese , the sandwich was dry and mostly tasteless. I new it needed help so I asked my waitress for Heinz 57, A-1 Or barbecue sauce as a last resource. I told my waitress the sandwich was dry and needed something and she kind of shrugged her shoulders like she hated to hear that. Im not one that sends my food back but I would have given that sandwich back if she would have offered. But she didn't. After about 5 minutes while my dry sandwich was cooling off I received, BBQ sauce. I powered it down along with about a 1/3 of my fries and that was my experience. My wife and I were staying at a nearby hotel to fly out the next morning so we didn't have anything else to eat. We went to the nearby Kroger two hours later so I didn't go to bed feeling hungry. Yes, we are spoiled in the US but I was hungry. I gave the experience a 2 because I did enjoy the beer. My wife had the beef sliders and said she would give them a 3 of 5. She said her sliders were dry but had a white sauce that saved her meal. Just one time for us but that was our experience for $40 + tip. Not great for us. read more

Food is average at best. It's the kind of food you would get at an Applebees so nothing you haven't tried before. There is a larger man that works here with very little common sense and/or terrible customer service. I sat at the end of the table that they sat us in and hung my bag off the chair, which is pretty typical. The man couldn't figure out how to walk around it without hitting it and told me "that's going to be a problem". I wasn't in the path of travel of servers. It was because He would go talk to his friends at the table behind me that the "problem" of bumping into my bag every time was occurring. I have been a customer of Nigh Brew for several months now. I am a single senior and enjoy eating out by myself. The staff at Nigh have become friends. Ben, Chris, and Todd have taken very good care of me. They greet me by name and know what I want to drink and eat. It is comforting to be able to sit and watch people and staff and not feel rushed. I really enjoy having someplace comfortable to visit and the food is good, especially the chili. Thank you for being there for me. read more

One word: Yasss!! We've needed another amazing brewery (s/o to Brewlink) in Plainfield for a minute!! We went opening week on a Friday, and it was super busy, but got sat within 20 minutes! The onion chips and beer braised beef panini were fire!! As far as beer, I had the Cordially Yours, and Limelight... HIGHLY recommend those two. We were so impressed that we went back a couple days ago to grab a couple more beers on the patio (which btw is a perfect brewery patio). At that time, I had the Cordially Yours again, and tried the cider (which was great!) Overall amazing food, drinks, and service!! I unfortunately cant remember either of our server's names (our first had a mask on and had dark brown hair), but our second server had reddish brown hair with a side part and glasses, he was super great and friendly!!
