A great fiend of mine told me I would love this place, and sure enough he was right!! The beer is wondeful! small list of medium 5%-6% AVB beers with enough selection for everyone. The ambiance is quiet amazing, right out of the 70's, with one of the best interior in town!! the staff is outstanding, polite, and chill! there is easy street parking and a overflow parking lot. They don't serve food but you can bring any in or have some delivered. The jukebox is full of great music. The regulars are super chill and its just an all around amazing little brewery that is serving some beer that deserves respect and admiration! read more

What a hidden gem! This brewery checked all of my boxes. To start, the inside was decked out with retro decor in all of my favorite colors. Next they had a cool compact disc jukebox that you could interact with for free. Also, the merch was top-notch so of course I had to purchase a T-shirt. Then they had a quaint patio which is where some people were enjoying the nice weather while sipping on their drinks. Finally the beers were unique and flavorful. Whoever thought of the logo and design of this place did a great job. It has such neat colors that run throughout the inside of this east side brewery. The apparel and glasses they use are awesome! They have their logo on them and it not only those, but the area where it leads to the restrooms is so cool! Not to mention the restrooms are even cooler. They incorporated the theme of the brewery perfectly! They were most recently were voted the 2nd Best New Brewery in the nation by USA Today! My personal favorite piece they have is the juke box. Did I go and pick songs? Yes, yes, I did! They offer a few snacky items but ClusterTruck is suggested if you want food. I saw people ordering pizzas, buffalo Mac and cheese, and tot-cho's from ClusterTruck. Lots of people were enjoying their beer and having a good time. What a sweet little spot to drink beer. On our first visit there they had a few vendors set up inside, selling their wares. Some had jewelry others had plants and there was also someone selling homemade mugs. It's nice to watch businesses come together to help each other out. Not a lot of beers on tap, but what they lack in quantity they sure make up for in quality. I was only able to try the New England IPA and also the banana nut Hefe. Both or fantastic. You could easily taste the freshness in the beers. I definitely plan on making a return trip and trying whatever they put out next. read more

Indiana and craft beer just go together imo, as usual I started to see this place pop up on Instagram and I was curious, I had the chance to swing over one night and I'm glad I did. The inside is decorated, in a low key, classy, 70s way? I'm not sure of the formal names of designing, but it looks awesome. I was excited when we finally got the chance to pop into this newish brewery. Since then, we've been back a second time with plans to keep going back! Every beer I've had has been fantastic! So far, I've had the German Pilsner, Italian Pilsner, Schwartbier and New England IPA. And, honestly, I'm not a big pilsner fan, but those pilsners are excellent...so crisp and flavorful! The service is also fantastic. The owner was our bartender both times we were there. She was so friendly and happy to talk with us when she had a moment. I couldn't help but think about Yelper Ken N. and his beloved "day drinking" gatherings as I finally got the opportunity to check out Kismetic Beer Company, a new indie brewery located inside the 201 Studios building at 201 S. Rural. Ken would have loved this place. He most certainly would have tried it out before me. I'm a casual drinker at best, though I have a friend who has a studio in this building and I've been aware of Kismetic's pending arrival long before a piece of furniture was in place. Ken would have loved the stylish retro vibe here. He would have loved the friendly employees. He would have really loved the experimental brews that I personally think are some of Indy's best options including an out of this world Italian Pilsner and a dynamic German option that truly rocked my world. For those who are unaware, Ken N. was a multi-year Yelp Elite who'd just been named, if I recall correctly, the YelpTime Achievement Award winner in 2020 and whose death due to brain cancer hit a lot of us pretty hard. There was a group of us that gathered regularly on his behalf - I was in that group, though I didn't gather quite as often as some. I'm still heartbroken that Ken fell 14 reviews shy of his goal to achieve 4,000 reviews before the death that he knew was coming. Again, Ken would have loved Kismetic Beer Co. I enjoyed watching Kismetic grow from a hardcore industrial space to a cozy, intimate, and fun space for gathering that still somehow seems to fit inside the 201 Studios. I wondered if they'd manage to make the space wheelchair accessible enough for me - they've done pretty darn well. This particular visit was a fairly quick one, though I look forward to returning in the near future when I can actually linger a bit more. This is an interesting space - 201 Studios is a 100-year-old factory that is finding new life as a host for a variety of makers, artists, and other creatives. The spaces range from incredibly industrial to surprisingly charming. I believe that Kismetic is really the first space to be a truly "public" space and it's got an entrance that allows for public access. There's both street and private lot parking. There's honestly nothing I don't like about this space. It's attractive inside, the employees are friendly and genuine, the brews I've tried are among the best I've tried locally, and I love the 201 Studios vibe so much that I want to find a reason to rent a space here. As a bit of a loner without a lot of strong connections, I find that I am most drawn to places where I feel a sense of belonging. I get that here. It may be the sort of 70's decor and vibe. It may be the employees. It may be that this is all plopped in the middle of a residential area. I don't know. I don't really have to know. I just really, really like it and I look forward to returning. I would be aware that the social media pages are more active than the actual website. So, if you're wondering about events or goings on I'd check them out on Facebook rather than depending on the website. Seriously, if you love a truly great vibe and out of the ordinary brews this is Indy's new gem and a place to check out. read more

What a cool spot! The space is comfortable industrial. It has this hip retro vibe with teal and purple that makes you feel immediately like you've been transported into a Relaxing lounge. About 4 months ago, I was at the Amp food hall picking up a free sandwich for a Yelp special, and Nicole was working at the counter. She was telling me about this brewery she was starting and would soon not be working there. And then it happened! A great location for a brewery, as this part of town is lacking on those. My friends and I rode our bikes here and we each enjoyed a pint. It's funny, but once we sat down at a table and started talking, I felt like I was in a room from an old James Bond movie. Sean Connery probably, definitely looking for that secret door. Really nice vibes in here with lots of space to spread out. This large 40 foot cerulean bench seat with oval tables and wood paneling for a background really sets the mood for me. Trap doors, not really, but the door and twisty hallway leading to the nice restrooms kind of qualifies for that spy incognito feeling. I like how the bar is in the middle of the room, allowing guests to walk around it. Can't wait to come back again! read more

Lots of hype behind this brewery, even before their grand opening, so I had to check it out. With an unassuming location on Indy's near east side, it's easy to miss if you're not looking for it. There is a parking lot across the street from the brewery, or ample street parking in the area. The interior has a black, teal, and purple theme with cool retro vibes. All the beers I tried were really good, with my favorites being the Italian Pilsner and the banana nut bread Hefeweizen. The staff was super friendly and the merch is top-notch. Kismetic brewing an amazing establishment from the owners and beer to the decor and glassware, it all makes for a great experience. It's located on the near east side off of Rural street so you might experience some construction. I did pass the parking lot once but it's easy to see the actual brewery in the industrial complex. The decor had a retro feel to it and I loved the unique combination of the purple and teal as their primary colors. The industrial aspect of the exposed brick fed into the retro feel of the brewery as well. For a smaller set up there seemed to be ample seating with both bar and booth locations. Outside of the jukebox player, there was no other technology around. It's honestly the first restaurant/brewery I have been to recently that I can't remember seeing a tv which is a nice change of pace. The glassware is very unique as well and it might be there first time I've remembered a specific glass. The beer was excellent. My friend and I both got the banana nut bread Hefeweizen and it tasted amazing! The banana flavoring was not overpowering and it had the subtle after-taste of fall. I would highly recommend it and definitely would get another pint or fill growler. I ended up with the Italian Pilsner for my second 16 oz pour and my friend got the watermelon mint gose colab with black circle. The Italian Pilsner with light and refreshing, exactly what you would want to sip on a warm day. My friend loved the watermelon mint gose. It is a sour but it's subtle which she enjoyed. While talking with the owner it was great to hear about the future plans of the brewery. They are hoping to start filling growlers and canning in the next month. Once they start canning they will hopefully be able to do an outdoor sitting area so people can drink outside. I loved the story she shared about how they had to get the neighbors support for the city to allow them be located at the complex as well. You can really tell they are passionate about the neighborhood and growing with the community. Overall it was a fantastic experience and I can't wait to return for another pint. Let's just start with the beer: I've had a lot of local pilsners, but I've never been amazed by one until I tried Kismetic's Italian Pilsner. Clean, bright, and light bodied, with sharp hops and a hint of minerality on the finish, it's an easy drinker with style. The German Pils was also killer, rounder and bolder. I also tried the Schwartz, which sang with coffee toffee notes, a medium body, and just a hint of bitter on the finish. They also have a great IPA, Saison, and a few other beers I'll have to try on my next visit. The space is hip as hell, with a retro vintage vibe, a stylish VIP lounge, and lots of open seating that could accommodate a big group if you've got it. I discovered Kismetic two weeks after they opened and I haven't looked back. The inside has an atmosphere unlike the other breweries out there. It's welcoming, cozy, and will take you back a few decades. Also, the owners are just as inviting as the interior! There are a handful of beers to chose from and they're all lovely. We've gone twice in the past couple of months and both times we ended up staying longer than anticipated because we were enjoying ourselves so much. First off, let me share that this is FEMALE-OWNED business, and that female owner is lovely. Also, this brewery is humans-only. There's no outdoor space for your pups, but the inside is spacious with several sitting areas for us to enjoy. In the middle is the horseshoe bar, but there's also a bunch of leather chairs around tables scattered around the space for smaller groups. There's also long blue booths with tables pushed up to them. No matter where you choose to sit, make sure you look around. You'll quickly notice the purple and teal color scheme. It's very striking and sets the vibe. Every bit of architecture and decor is intentional and interesting. Ask your server about a given piece that catches your eye to get the full story. There's two gender neutral restrooms down the hall that are chilly, but clean. I stated this is a brewery, so let me tell you about the bevvies. Both times we've visited, I didn't find a beer on the menu that was over 6.5% ABV. That means I'm able to have a few beers over the course of the afternoon and still drive home later. Plus, they offer pints and half pints! Yay! My favorites so far are the hazy IPA, the lager, and the beer with juniper berries. In addition to their beers, they also offer CBD water and N/A beers and NO JUDGMENT for those not drinking. One of the best discoveries is a fully stocked jukebox that's FREE to play! read more

The owners were great and very accommodating and welcomed us with open arms in the Brewery. The decor and bar area inside is very neat and very attractive looking. The wall decor is cool and awesome! The beer is excellent! My friends loved the porter and the stout. I enjoyed the hazy IPA and the watermelon Gose beer. The Juniper beer was out of this world!!! I looked at the merchandise and the hoodies were eye catching and fit very snug and comfortable, so I had to purchase one for myself. You can bring outside food in to have for dinner, so that's another feature. The Brewery has menus they can provide for you to order food. There is a small parking lot across the street from the Brewery where you can park, so that is a wonderful advantage for the Brewery. I can definitely see Kismetic Brewing Company being successful in Indianapolis because they have a high quality product and the owners really care about their customers. The atmosphere is beautiful and very eclectic to the naked eye. I enjoy it and feels very homey and relaxing to me. My friends felt the same way.
