So, I went to Brake Works and they did a real evaluation and said, "Your brakes are fine." Wait? What? Realistically, they could have recommended a number of levels of repair and I would have agreed because...well, I want my brakes to work without worry and I have the auto mechanic skills of a substitute host of The View. Additionally, I had a hanging under carriage felt piece which I'm guessing is required for sound proofing or governmental overreach that has fallen off in chunks from speed bumps, steep driveway grades, or some form of auto part rapture, which I asked them to disentangle and remove.. They did so with a silent knowing recognition to the idiocy of the design. But here's the thing. They refused payment. No charge for anything, despite my protestations. So in summary, I went to a car shop asking for and ready to pay for services and the shop said, "No charges, come back to us in the future when you really need work." Damn skippy, I will. I was able to take my car in that afternoon and it was taken in right away. They showed me what my brakes currently looked like and made a recommendation for service.
