They didn't have chai, but they did have an iced latte that was yummy, and omg the bacon cream muffin was soo dericious. We love the Nighthawk. It's the only bar within walking distance of our house that passes the "TV Test." We make a point to avoid any bar that has more TVs than it has walls. The coffee is great and the adult drinks are solid, the staff is friendly. We can even sometimes bring our dog in when it's not too busy. They have a nice, casual vibe and it's a great fit for the neighborhood. read more

I can speak for the coffee, and I can speak for the drinks. Both are bases loaded, bottom of the 9th, Cardinals at Wrigley, Rizzo up to bat(or Bryant...mohawks are cool too), GRAND SLAM!! We've been anxiously waiting for this place to open in AP, hoping it didn't disappoint after all of their unfortunate setbacks, and the renovation is awesome! What a great vibe Nighthawk gives off both morning and night. Coffee is delicious, both hot and cold nitro. We had 4 different drinks on opening night - perfectly stirred and shaken. Free wifi. Awesome staff. The list goes on and on... For about the same price, instead of the chain brand coffee at Kimball brown line stop, walk across the street. You won't regret it! Albany Park finally has a place for coffee snobs like me to go and get their fill! Yesterday I finally got a chance to try this place, and I liked it so much that I came back early this morning. Yesterday I got a mocha latte (hot) and was recommended to try the lemon pound cake. Those two things don't really go together, but I devoured them nonetheless. The coffee was delicious. The little bit of icing on the lemon pound cake added the perfect sweet touch. Today I got an iced coffee and a peach scone, and I enjoyed both. It is a very chill, relaxed atmosphere. The staff is friendly and personable, not like some other bougie coffee places in Chicago where I have gotten a pretentious vibe from the baristas. I also very much appreciate its location right across from the end of the Brown Line. If that's where you get on the CTA in the morning, you won't regret a quick stop by! read more

This is based on a morning coffee experience. So I'm new to "cold brew" coffee and was excited when I did some research into finding NITRO cold brew. Came in with my boyfriend, ordered nitro cold brew and a latte. Latte was good, but lukewarm because their was a trainee and things got mixed up behind the counter, fine, I can deal with that. But then when we got the "nitro cold brew", or what the trainee thought was the nitro, it had ice in it?! Tasted good, but not what I bought and paid extra for. Being nieve I hesitated and thought, umm, this doesn't look right, but for the sake of humility I didn't say anything. Although, now that I've been other places and have had nitro cold brew I'm annoyed. read more

The cocktails are fabulous. The brandy old fashioned is one of the best drinks I have had in awhile. However, for it not being busy, the service is incredibly slow. We could not get timely attention for orders (all ordering is at the bar) and then it was about 15 minutes for each drink order. read more

If you're looking for a great drink at a reasonable price, and entertaining events, this is the place. I've had a number of their mixed drinks and would stack them against almost anything you can find in River North/more expensive parts of the City. The staff are all friendly and know how to make a great cocktail. Beyond the drinks, they have a number of events like The Art of Drinking (painting alongside Bob Ross), the film noir series, etc. They've clearly made a conscious effort to be a part of the community and provide more than just drinks. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is: 1. They don't serve food. I doubt this is their fault. Likely it's due to space limitations/City regulations. There have been a couple times when I wanted to stop by on a Friday afternoon after work but didn't because I wanted to have a small appetizer with my drink. They might want to look into a partnership like Templestowe and Angelo's have where you can order and it will be delivered to you. Maybe they already have this and I'm just not aware of it. 2. On two separate occasions I've had a drink that, while tasting delicious, had a musty aroma. I'm guessing it was the glass and likely caused by whatever towel they dried it with, but it was noticeable and off putting. I confirmed with the people I was with to make sure I wasn't just being picky. read more

This place looks great. Cool vibe. Went there based on the rating. Looking for some late night coffee... Nobody else drink coffee at night?? Well the trip-espresso was... eh... ok. So, why the 3 stars. It's advertised as a coffee & tea, bar??? But coffee is shut down early in the day, I guess. Still the "bartender" fired up some espressos for us. Since coffee wasn't available. However, what really rubbed my rhubarb the wrong way was the poor service. The one "bartender" not a barista, didn't say hello (the place is as big as a shoe box). She could have said "hey guys!" So we sat off the bar- not at the bar where she was engaged with the other patrons - maybe they were "regulars". Either way, a "hello" and an " I'll be right there" would have been cool. But my friend and I sat there finishing our conversation started on our way in (a few mins). We then walked up to the bar to ask if someone comes to take our order or do we order at the bar... You get my long drawn out point... Disappointed with the service. Probably won't be back. I really wanted to enjoy it as a neighborhood coffee spot. Someone convince me otherwise! read more

Attempted to try this place for the first time today. I was looking for a nice spot to do some work and drink a coffee. The hours state they open at 7am but when I arrived at 8:45am they were still closed. Hopefully this establishment proves more reliable for others but it's unlikely I'll risk my time again. read more
