Not great. Visited Harwood Arms for one of the FIFA game watch parties and yeah, don't bother. I don't think Harwood Arms was prepared for how many people were going to show up- it seemed completely disorganized, chaotic, and just ridiculous. We were sitting down at one of the tables outside in the alley area and the walkway was clear- at first. After the game had actually started, I guess they just let everyone in and the entire walkway was PACKED with people to the point that our once clear view of the TV, was gone in an instant. As the night progressed, obviously a girl has to pee, so as I was walking into the actual restaurant/ pub to use the bathroom and I guess the "bouncer" stuck his arm between me and the door and dismissively said I couldn't go in. Excuse me? After telling him I literally have a table outside, he yanks at his collar and speaks into his little walkie talkie asking if there's a table of 4 outside under my name. Sorry, I didn't know I was watching the Mexico game at the freakin White House surrounded by Secret Agents. Give me a break. So when he magically confirms I have a table (because I do), he lifts up his arm and gives me the ALL CLEAR! It's actually funny looking back at it. But give me a break. When going back outside to sit at my table, the same bouncer/ Secret Agent/ FBI dude gives attitude to my boyfriend and myself for the commotion caused earlier. The actual police officer next to him told us it's ok and to just have a good time. The only nice thing someone said to us and he doesn't even work at Harwood Arms lol. To management, if you do not want people "off the street" to go in and out of your pub or inside to use your bathrooms, then I don't know- maybe come up with a wristband method so your paying customers can smoothly go in and out to use your bathrooms? Just a thought. OR just don't be unwelcoming to people that are actively spending money at your pub. Harwood Arms was NOT prepared at all for the high velocity of people coming in to watch the FIFA games. Quite frankly, it was a MESS. This review is long overdue but hey as long as I get it done. We were luckily referred to Harwood Arms by the front desk of our hotel at check-in, which was conveniently within walking distance (~10 mins) and has a kitchen that's open late which was nice after a day of travel, later check-in and being hungry. It was a few days before Thanksgiving, there was a decent crowd in the bar and everyone including the bartender (who's name I now cant remember because I took so long to write this) were all very friendly and helpful. The bar was warm, cozy and decked out in Christmas decor (and cute bathroom wallpaper). Good beer selection, great food (I literally ate the tikka masala twice during our couple day trip) and they were conveniently open on Thanksgiving after the game and a fun shot wheel, which was both fun to partake in and fun to watch others do. We found free parking on the street a short distance. As we entered, Jade welcomed us so we sat at her bar. My daughter and I split Eggs Benedict and a Scottish Egg. It was my 1st Scottish Egg and it was incredibly delicious; so much flavor!! We were celebrating my daughter's birthday so she got a drink with a candle!! I ended up here by sheer accident and it turned out to be the best way to end my night. My Fiance and I were greeted at the door by the most kind bouncer that we've ever met, Will. I came in looking for my keys, and he immediately jumped into action mode and said "we'll figure this out together". He grabbed his manager, Alicia, who was also so kind and helpful. They both went above and beyond to help me solve a problem that wasn't theirs. So once we recovered the keys, we figured we might as well stay and try some food! We got the garlic fries because they smelled phenomenal and they were great. The bartender who served us was also awesome. Wow what a neat concept ! I felt like I was stepping right back into a pub in Scotland from a trip I took once . Lots of great private seating and even a large outside patio. The staff was just right , checked in us often enough but didn't hover over us. The food was also delish. We tried the grinch dip off the holiday menu (spinach dip and pita) it was a large serving too! Tasted fresh(maybe a tad more pitas next time since the serving was so large)! It was a cold night so I took advantage of that and got the beef and barley soup .. it was also a nice size and fresh and tasty. Hubs got the fish and chips- it came with sauces and a cute bottle vinegar. He loved them(I stole a Few chips and they are fresh and made in house) We had a cocktail as well. Alright... first time here and in this area. My boss and I came in for a quick bit and watch the game. If you're new to this area or just here for business this place is perfect. Especially if your boss has been to London and other OG pubs. Please note that bar sitting is first come, so I highly suggest you get here early. If not... sit outside in the heat. TVs are on and games are coming in, but the food was really good. We decided to share some plates as we just got off a 4 hour flight. LK really suggested we get the Scottish eggs. And yes... it was really good. We also got the fish and chips along with the bangers and mash. I would highly recommend you try this. The upsetting part or dinner was being outside didn't allow us to get the best service. We waited for about 25-45 minutes before got any follow up after the meal was served. Went here last night because we heard it was decorated for Christmas and you bet it was! The outside looked amazing and really made you feel like you were in a different country in a pub in the snow. When you walk in, not only are you in awe of the Christmas decorations, but of how AMAZING it smells in there. I knew instantly it was going to be a good place for dinner since it smelled so incredible. I got the Patty Melt and it was great! The fries were amazing. I'm not a fan of skinny fries but the seasoning on them was incredible. My patty welt was huge and tasted just like I was expecting. Was also very flavorful. My friend got the fish and chips and said it was great as well, and the fry "chips" were great. Presentation wise the food looked amazing as well. The reason it loses a star is for our "Christmas" drinks. We ordered a "polar bear espresso martini" off the special holiday menu and I was so excited for it to be Christmassy in some way. Sadly, there was no "polar bear" aspect to it. We saw other drinks come in fun Christmas cups etc but sadly ours did not. This was my first time getting an espresso martini and it was also just horrible. There was no cream to it whatsoever which I heard it is supposed to have. I was pretty bummed since it tasted like straight vodka and coffee which I could have made at home and spared the very steep $16. All in all, food and decoration wise, this place is amazing! I was very disappointed because I had ordered the steak and chips. I ordered medium rare and unfortunately they brought out a well done steak. I had asked for it to be remade and it was once again made even more well done. It was very cooked and it was one of the worst steaks I have personally tried. The customer service from our waiter was great although the staff that brought out the steak had a bad demeanor. I also do want to notate the second time they brought the steak out it took more than 30 minutes. I was eating with a coworker who ordered the same thing and her steak was cooked correctly but mine wasn't. They took my plate which was fine but I couldn't even eat the fries that I had on the side. It took one whole hour from the time I got there to be served the second incorrectly cooked steak. I did not end up eating and cancelling the order. Not to mention the comment of "we can pack up your food as it is about to come out" was not kind. I wanted a dine in experience but was given the takeout option after an hour. Not to mention when we arrived the security hadn't told us that we had to go inside to check in which was surprising as when we arrived it was not packed. The hostess with the dress came to our table and told us we had to move and that we were supposed to check in with her that the table was reserved for a larger group and that we were only two people we could go to the smaller table. We then informed her no one informed us we had to check in but okay we will move. She moved us to a table with wet stools and I had asked if she could dry them. She said "you could switch it to a dry stool." She moved one but I moved one other one for my bag. Overall the ambiance wasn't inviting. I will not be returning here. read more

Came here for a friends birthday. Prior to everyone else arriving, we got a table for two to get some a food. The loaded potato skins were really good. The pretzels were interesting because they were deep fried. The sauce they came with helped balance them. When everyone else arrived, we waited for a larger table. This was a great idea. We ended up with a booth and a spot where people could come and go from. I will say this place is VERY loud and the line outside after the band started was long. Additionally, everything seemed expensive for what you got. It was $11 for a Tito's drink and our dinner of two apps and two drinks each was $80. We easily spent a lot of money here for an evening out but we were amount good company. The womens restroom only has two stalls so when the band stops performing prepare for a long wait. read more

This is a giant bar close to the end of the downtown Dallas mixmaster. Definitely feels like an east coast bar in Dallas which is why my friend wanted to go for HH. I will say $6 wines is excellent for happy hour - I was shocked at the price. But it's also your average not anything to write about wine. There was a holiday party so we could only sit outside. The printed out menu isn't inclusive of all the drinks so you have to scan the QR code which was confusing to me. The staff was friendly despite the large parties. I didn't eat here so I can't attest. I guess now that I don't live in Dallas I want the fancier special bars but this great east coast vibey bar with a huge interior and exterior. This will be a one-and-done visit for us. Website doesn't mention that you can only order off the Brunch menu on Saturday until 4pm, thus limiting menu items offered. We had the reuben sandwich, which contained exactly 2 slices of meat and no visible saurkraut. Was lacking, especially for the price. We also had the fish and chips, which were lightly battered and very tasty. We were surprised at the lack of beer choices on tap and no authentic pub glasses. The ambiance was charming, but it wasn't enough to garner a second chance. It was additionally disconcerting that there was no decent music being played - would've been nice to hear something culturally authentic. I went to see a friend's band, (Justin Cashion). I had a really fun time. The venue was crowded, but the atmosphere was lively the ambiance was great. after a few drinks, I decided to order something to eat I was recommended the fish and chips by the waitress she was very pleasant and helpful; she found me a spot to sit down and eat while watching my friend perform. It was a wonderful experience. I haven't been out in a while and typically don't enjoy going out due to the crowds, but this particular crowd was mindful of personal space and generally pleasant to be around. I would give this place a five-star rating for the food and a ten-star salute for my friend's performance. I truly appreciate the courtesy and kindness everyone displayed. If you're looking for some of the best fish and chips I've ever had without traveling to England, I highly recommend this place. However, if you do have the chance to go to England, I would recommend that as well. I should note that the crowd wasn't very diverse, but as I mentioned, everyone seemed to be hospitable and respectful, so I have no negative comments to make. read more
