The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is a great location. I would highly recommend this place.

I came to see Kinky Boots and overall I had a great time seeing the show and the place itself was very nice and easy to navigate. Unfortunately one of the security guards working was extremely rude, they just continuously yelled "keep walking". There were no instructions on people with bag go here, people without bags go here, so it just seemed like the line was going one by one. Then one of the people in my group had to stop at the table to get their bag inspected and I was trying to stick with our group as to not get lost and like I said there were no instructions given to go a specific place so I was waiting behind them and one of the security guards yelled in my face to "keep walking" and looked at me like I was an idiot for not reading his mind and figuring out what he wanted me to do. All the other security guards were very nice and had CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS for what to do so idk if this guy missed the memo but I think that situation could have been handled a lot better without having to scream at people who are trying to figure out what to do and where to go. read more

We bought tickets last minute to The Book of Mormon and of course got what we thought were the worst seats in the house. 4th floor (top floor), last row, stage left. Little did we know there isn't a bad seat in the house! The acoustics in this building are amazing!! I never missed a word! As for visibility, again no problem! The way the seats are set and the lighting is done all of the actors look like they are within reach. Best of all......you can bring alcohol (from the bar) to your seats. Lets just say the Book of Mormon was funny, but even better with a glass of wine! The bartenders were friendly and the staff working was so friendly and helpful! I cant wait to pick out another musical to see here! Note to ALL GIRLS: Everyone migrates to the first floor bathroom (where the larger bars are)! If you go to the 4th floor the line is only a few people deep! Before the performance and during the intermission I went to the 4th floor bathroom and was in and out in record time but both times saw a 30 person line for the first floor bathroom. (you laugh now but at that critical moment this is valuable information.....you're welcome) read more

Watching musicals here is way better than Summer Musical at Fair Park. It's new. It's beautiful. It's safe. It's easy to get to. The acoustics is amazing. Even with the worst seat, you can still see the stage very well with how the architecture is designed. Again, I love watching musicals here. It's just much nicer in every way. I can't wait for The Book of Mormon play to come back. Eeeek. Besides musicals and plays, I came here once for yoga. There's a huge field in the back for outdoor yoga. It's pretty nice and unique. Tips: 1) Parking is pricey. $15 in for the garage. $25 for valet. Park in the street. 2) If your seat is on a higher level, take the master staircase and not the elevator. The line for the elevator might cause you to miss the show, because it's so long and slow. 3) Helpful and friendly staff if you have any questions. read more

I'm so glad Dallas has finally gained such an amazing venue. Beautiful architecture and detail inside and out! I lucked out and had the opportunity to sit so close to the stage that it felt they were performing just for me! The acoustics were rounded wonderfully against the simple design of the theatre. The lighting, stage set up, orchestra and cast were amazing. All staff we spoke with were very friendly and helpful in find our seats. They even treated you to the opportunity to pre-order your intermission cocktails to avoid not waiting in a line. The only thing I wish they would have considered was a different portion of food offerings. I would have been in double heaven had they offered more than candy bars and the like. Truly worth experiencing even through just a tour. read more

I highly recommend checking out the Thursday patio sessions that happen in fall and spring. It's free and family friendly. But they rope off an area in the shade with tables and chairs, and booze for the adults. The band plays by the fountain so it was fun watching little kids and their parents running around in the water. There was quite a game of ping pong going on in front of us too. So yeah, a plastic cup with wine is $7, but you're paying for the ambiance. Highly recommend! read more

Very nice venue with several stage options to perform small to large performances. The grounds are beautiful throughout and kept very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful in making sure you made it to your destination. I think the price to park is outrageous but that's always the case when visiting the downtown area. I'll always return to catch a great performance and can't wait to visit again! read more

I must say that I did not know what to expect when I arrived here but I will say I was VERY impressed... My mom scored some tickets for Porgy and Bess and I heard it was a good show so I wanted to go. For my first time there I really enjoyed myself. Inside is smaller from what I expected but still nice. The play was great and I enjoyed all the performances a lot. Can't wait to come back and see another show Side note: Eat before go cause I purchased 3 small items for $15.. We came to see Beauty and the Beast, and it was a wonderful show! (Lumiere stole the show!) A very clean and beautiful Opera House. My family looks forward to returning (I'm especially anxious to see The Phantom of the Opera - my favorite). My son especially loved the chandelier! We had dinner before the show, it was a lovely intimate setting. The atmosphere was lovely, and the food was as well. We will definitely partake again! read more

In Dec 2017 we took advantage of a Winspear Opera House backstage tour (free) and got a better appreciation for what it takes to put on an opera or Broadway show. Saw Shen Yun 2020 at this location and it was fantastic . The show was superb and the venue was fantastic. We sat on the second level and the view from the box seats was fantastic . This place is gorgeous! I was so enchanted by the architecture that I totally forgot to take pictures! Over the weekend, I watched Avenue Q with Paul H and my family. We sat in the dress circle which was located in the upper balcony area. It was right above the boxed seats. This performing arts center is great because, regardless of where you sit, I think you'll be able to see the stage clearly since it's not a really large theater to begin with. Well I'm not sure about the floor seats but if you're on the balcony, you'll definitely be able to see clearly. I love how they have refreshment areas on all the floors. That helped move the line along- especially since intermission was only 15 minutes long! +1 star for having a family restroom available because I was having zipper issues and my date was able to lend me a hand. ^_^ Parking might be a little tricky but it wasn't too bad since there was a paid parking lot a few blocks away. :) read more

What a wonderful asset to Dallas - a true unique cornerstone in the Dallas Arts District. The design is beyond my vernacular to describe in words. If you could see my face right now as I am typing it would look like this : - 0!!!! I think we all know how beautiful the Winspear as we wisp by it on Woodall Rogers. Its maginificient red structure creates almost a daunting presence over downtown and uptown. You look at it and know it is important. I have been dying to go there ever since it was built. I felt guilty not taking advantage of it sooner. It was built for us! You walk up to the theater and are overcome with the size of the structure. Every element in the architecture evokes a certain openness. From the open lawn to the huge glass facade looking out onto the amazingly fun reflecting pool where you can play Jesus and walk on water. The inside is even more exciting. It's surprisingly intimate and embellished with these enchanting twinkle lights that are attached to rods that extend in and out of the ceiling. Cool, huh!?! Protip: Order your intermission drinks before the show and they will have them ready for you so you can avoid waiting in line! read more

The architecture inside is fabulous, and the ambiance is absolutely gorgeous. I do have a big grip though. The seats and rows in the mezzanine are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too damn close together so if you're a bigger person (height, weight or muscular), it's a pain getting in and out of your seat or remaining seated for long periods. read more

The Opera House is beautiful, inside and out. And the sound is much better here over say Fair Park (yuck). A couple things to remember though: Parking in their garage is expensive, but it's like the nicest garage I've ever parked in haha. There were a few problems and lines to get out of the garage, but the biggest problem I had was to get from the theater to the garage everyone has to squeeze through this doorway to the escalator. Total chaos and there should probably be two escalators to alliviate the amount of people. The sound in the opera house is great! But the sightlines, not so much. Since this is a horseshoe layout, unless you are in the orchestra seats you'll be far away from the stage action. Not really condusive to most of the musical theater productions they are pimping. We sat in the front row of the dress circle (not the top balc, but almost) near the center. Sounds pretty good right? Well there is only one way to get to the center of the front two rows and that would be by crawling all over everyone already seated. The back three rows have aisles that prevent the crawling or whatever, but to make more money or whatever reason the front two don't. Also, the barrier wall in the front row seemed really low, probably to help with sightlines, but when there are no aisles and center ticket holders have to crawl over people it can be scary. Maybe some of these things can be worked out, like the seats thing. It's not going to stop me from going back, but now I know where to not sit and to look into a cheaper parking garage nearby! read more

Stunning top notch theater is what comes to mind first. Caught a musical here and the sound was crisp and clean. I highly suggest getting your seat in the center sections. We were seated in the side area and while close the stage, the angle was just downright uncomfortable. Also, the seats are so close together if you are unlucky to get seated next to someone you really don't want to be...suck it up. They will be in your face. Strategy next time is go with two friends and sit between them! The money pumped into this venue clearly shows. read more

This is a really beautiful new theater. I came here last night to see Spring Awakening and was so impressed by the design aesthetics as well as the seating. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. If you have seen a play at Fairpark, you know how bad the acoustics there are. The acoustics here are great, clear, and loud. Even on the 4th floor dress circle seating, I could see clearly. I am only deducting one point because of the fact I am scared of heights and we were in the first row on the 4th floor dress circle. The railing is pretty low and the space to walk between is very narrow....for someone with an extreme fear of heights, I had a really hard time with this and was scared to get out of my seat to go to the bathroom. Panic attacks ensue. I loved that when you leave the theater, it is so open and you have a great view of downtown Dallas. Also within walking distance of One Arts Plaza. Really impressive place. read more

This is a really nice venue. The seating is oval shaped so if your on the sides you pretty much have to turn your entire body or turn your head to one side, which can become uncomfortable. Also, I don't know if it was just our seats in the balcony but it was uncomfortably cold. The venue is beautiful though, and the lighting in the auditorium is pretty. I would recommend getting seats in the center balcony if you can. read more

First my review is ONLY about at&t theater. Not about the play - which deserves a five (constellation). First the staff was very confused about the process, they focused on making sure we were told we could t not re enter (the one act play) if we left and to turn off cell phones. I was told about 10 times from entering building to curtain. Second they seemed very confused by the elevators - they weren't sure if we could ride the elevator down, that was going down....go figure. However I feel my largest complaint is the semi or maybe he completely bs description of the "Wolfgang Puck" snack bar. It was a f***** cash bar selling packaged processed snacks (at a very high rate even for the usual). We asked where the wp cafe was - on the first floor - they had no clue. I pointed out it was described on web site and if I recall the tickets - not sure on last part. Nada! Don't know what you mean - but down the street I was told was a few places to eat... Anyway - looking at our bank charges for the overpriced popcorn and peanuts - it was charged by "Wolfgang puck" - really seriously wrong... read more

I'm really quite astounded at how bad the customer service at this "world class" venue is... but then this is Dallas, after all, and it's all about the looks, never the content. This is a really nice venue to watch a show. We watching the Book of Mormon and sat left stage. Thats on the right side of the auditorium if you're looking at the stage.. The view was great, each seat has its own A/C and they floors are all hard wood. We got to go backstage afterwards because we knew someone in the show and wow was that cool!! Nice facility and easy parking. However I would suggest that you eat somewhere before a show! They offer nothing but small bags of snacks, and their cafe only had a breakfast sandwich left. The restaurants in the area either had a long wait or were closed to private parties. When you call to ask they tell you there are places around. Of course the box office doesn't know but at least have a food truck available for shows. Luckily it was only 2 hours and we ate after. We weren't the only ones either!! read more

This place is amazing. I was invited to go to a musical called Motown that was being held at this place. I must tell you the experience was amazing. The place is beautiful and the sound system was good and to be truthful there is not a bad seat in the house. I must say one thing it was in August when I attended this musical which means it is 119 degrees on the outside but on the inside it was 10 degrees below zero. You need to bring a jacket are a coat because the AC is blowing full blast. Other than that .......Perfect!! read more

I would like to update my comment on AT&T Performing Arts Center. I spoke with the public safety manager at the center to voice my complaint of how a situation with security was handled during a concert at their center. He was very concerned, helpful and listened to my complaint regarding the security issue I experienced. I felt very pleased with the way he handled and remedied the situation. The manager, Mr. Gilster worked in a timely and professional manner and he was successful in satisfying my complaint. I've been here for a few shows (Les Mis and the Cinderella Ballet) and they were fantastic. I made the mistake of parking the garage for the first event I went to and paid $20 so please note there is street parking near by with a meter or you can park at the Arts Plaza for a much cheaper price! The center is beautiful, especially at night and the staff does a good job at herding people in and out quickly for big shows. Great addition to Downtown Dallas! read more

Went to see A Christmas Carol play. The play is beautiful! Even the kids appreciated following the story of old Ebenezer Scrooge. The theater itself looks a bit dated. Try to grab the more expensive balcony seats at either corner to maximize viewing area. None of the seats are comfortable but at least you'll be able to enjoy the show. read more

The architecture is beautiful. I love buildings with large glass windows. I came here to see Avenue Q with elite Yelper Tiffany D. and family. Seating was comfortable but I wish the armrests would lift up. No biggie but I would rather be close to the one I adore. Elevators can be a bit slow but fit a decent amount of patrons. The view of the centerstage from Level 4 Dress Circle D was perfect. As Jessica M said already, I could see everything fine and the theater acoustic was great. I'm glad AT&T is family friendly with their family restroom. For situations like stuck zippers. I also want to compliment the janitor for being so determined at wanting to clean the family restroom. She knocked twice! I would come here again to see another perform. Take advantage of the intermission! read more

Dallas Opera has a beautiful, new home and I could not be happier... well, I could on two points but I'll get to that in a minute. Last night I had the great opportunity, thanks to Frances, to see the Off-Broadway performance of "Hair". I was very excited because I love the movie and soundtrack, but never had the chance to see it live. The new opera house is easy to find and is in the up and coming Arts District. The building is very, very modern and super stylish and is extremely efficient. We even had an easy time parking although we muttered a slight wah at the idea of paying $15 to self park. Unfortunately you do not really have a choice in this area either because of the overall lack of parking. The only thing that confuses me about that too is that this area is not yet very walkable in conjunction with the rest of downtown, uptown or the train system. But you know, I did not even care after I saw that they allowed the yarn bomb I saw being installed the day before to stay. (BIG SHOUT OUT TO MY HOOKERS AND KNITTERS) With parking aside, we were able to park quickly (including getting out quickly at the end of the show thanks to the efficient and extremely nice garage staff) and head inside. The staff here are super sweet and so willing to help. We were able to get our tickets, some drinks and even had the option of buying sushi, chocolate covered strawberries and other goodies if we so chose. Both bartenders we talked to were fast, super personable and really just nice over all. Everyone working there wanted to be there. So what about the inside of the house? Well, it is just really nice, plus the retractable chandelier will make you feel like you're in the Superman movie.:) There is not a bad seat in the house no matter how high up you are. The seats are comfortable and you actually have leg room. The sound is okay, but not as great as some of our other halls here. Oh, and I know you are waiting for the other issue I have huh. Well, my main complaint goes to something petty. Expensive faucets in the bathroom with Georgia Pacifica cheap, plastic paper towel holders.... REALLY?! You could not just get some decent paper towel holders?! That is just like serving plastic wear with fine china. read more

Beautiful building and the environment of the building make it a must see especially for broadway musicals and operas.

We went to see Peter and the StarCatcher tonight, what an amazing show. The actors were so talented and the center was absolutely beautiful. I was impressed so much that we are going to buy season memberships. Bravo to my neighborhood Yelp Manager Helina for putting on this Elite event for us. This was one of the first Elite events I've been to (quite frankly because i was able to bring my wife and son). Awesome time. Awesome show. Awesome facility. read more

I recently went to a Leon Russell outdoor concert at Annette Strauss Square, located at the AT&T Performing Arts Center. It's a terrific venue with a large stage and an acoustically accommodating sound system. The lawn was immaculate, extremely comfortable and relaxing. With all of the new venues opening up in downtown Dallas, could it be only a matter of time before we delve into a SXSW type event? I certainly hope so. In the meantime, don't pass up an opportunity to come to this venue. It's a welcome addition to the ever growing Dallas Arts scene. read more

I don't make it down there as often as I would like but the whole Arts District is quickly becoming one of the best parts of Dallas. I am excited for the park to be done. Truthfully with all the different names and buildings, I am not 100% sure exactly what is considered the "AT&T Performing Arts Center". I thought the new building under construction was the City Performing Arts Center and AT&T sponsored the Arts District as a whole. I know the opera center is the Winspear and the performing arts building across the street is the Wyly. So I am not sure whether the new city performing arts center is going to be called the AT&T Performing Arts Center or whether this is technically about the arts district as a whole. Regardless, I give it all 5 stars. If it is about the arts district as a whole, then it also includes the Meyerson Symphony Center (my favorite), the Trammell Crow Asian Collection, the Nacher, the DMA, and really One Arts and the new park, as well as the Strauss Pavillion. It really is a very neat area. Oh and the new Museum of Nature and Science is right there too. I am really proud of Dallas for putting the area together. It is impressive. read more
